Beastars: Full throttle and burning asphalt

Summary:

Though Legosi has been a force to be reconed with in Japan, he has not that much experience racing on a European circuit, let alone the prestigious Circuit De La Sarthe, the temple of endurance racing the world over. But the opportunity reveals it self when Yafya, Toyota Gazoo Racings head chief in the World Endurance Championship, suddenly asks the young wolf if he would like to join and race for Toyota in what is arguably one of the biggest motorsporting events in the world.
But what he does not know is that his childhood rival Louis, will also be partaking in the race, while driving for a team that his dad had bought out right for the chance to get Louis to the top steps of the podium.

Everything is on the line, and only one winner can be crowned when the 24 hours have passed, and rightfully earn their place among the legends on the iconic french circuit.

Chapter 1: Prologue: The Road to Le Mans

Chapter Text

Toyota Gazoo Racing Headquarters, Shizouka, Japan.

Yayfa stood up from behind his desk, all ridden with different paper files.
The walls of his office had glass cabinets filled with trophies from all kinds of motorsport events around the world, some of them were from Fuji speedway, which you could just see from the windows of the office, while some were from large international events.
Whether it was from rallying, open wheel racing and finally the endurance trophies.
Those large fancy cups that were shining in the light, and those large wooden blocks they stood so menacingly on, only the best of the best could ever get the chance to lift them over their heads as victorious.
Yafya walked around the room and looked out the window, with his hands on his back, they looked like they were going to caress the long, slick black tail behind him, but they rested easy.
“Explain to me again why you won’t drive for me anymore Mateo”, he said calmly.
Behind him stood a young snow leopard, he was in his black, red and white driving suit, however he had taken it half way off, revealing the fireproof underwear that sat under the almost skin tight suit.
His left hand was clutching his helmet by the lower face protection, his helmet was coloured in a way that resembled the argentinian flag, which was a sign of his heritage.
Mateo sighed, “For the last time mister Yayfa. The reson i won't drive another course with you is because, the car somehow underperforms, your lead mechanic is a small psychopath with a torque wrench and team principal who don’t give one shit!”.
Mateos accent shined through clearly, he was upset clearly as the little fur on his back that you could see was puffing up like crazy, if it stood up anymore then it would start poking out through the holes in the fabric of his suit.
Yafya sighed and rubbed his eyes, to which Mateo exclaimed loudly into their room, “I’M LEAVING, END OF STORY. CIAO YAFYA!!!”.
Mateo put his helmet under his arm and stormed for the door, nearly toppling Yayfa’s assistant in the process.
The sheep looked at her boss, seeing him just stare out the window, not saying a word, not even acknowledging that she was in the room.
She did not want to disturb him, she quietly turned around and slowly began walking out the room.
She was caught off guard as Yayfa spoke up, “Could you help me quickly Mrs. Sebun?”.
Sebun turned around, her heeled shoes clacking in the solid wood flooring, she was shily spew forward, “O…Of course mr. Yayfa!”.
The two of them sat down and began going through each and every single driver profile they could find, many of them had the reputation it would take to get a new one behind the wheel of their endurance hypercar, but it was not without any challenges.
Yayfa had the last call on the decision, Sebun was merely there to read up the driver stats as if this was a race team manager game.
Yayfa leaned forward, resting his long head on his hand that was probed up by his elbow, “I don’t know what I am going to do, Le Mans is in three weeks, and we have to find a new driver!”.
Sebun tried to calm the high ranking CEO down, “Don’t worry Mr. Yayfa, we’ll find a solution!”.
She returned to the papers while quietly under her breath muttering, “Hopefully”.
Every time Sebun would present a driver to Yayfa, he always had a problem with them.
It could be like they were too old, too young, not racing a series that was relevant or that he could not see the beast in question lift the trophy of the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans trophy.
Sebun eventually came to the last driver in the profile, she took the paper and laid it face up on the table.
Yayfa returned his attention to the situation at hand, “And what about this guy?”.
Sebun stood up and walked over to a large screen that sat directly over the opposite side of Yayfa's desk, she quickly coughed and pressed the screen, making it light up with bright blue visuals.
“The driver you have there is Legosi, a young gray wolf who has two whole championship titles in Super GT.”
Yafyas ears perked up as he looked up to the screen, there was currently a picture of the gray wolf that was directly taken from his FIA super licence, it also showcased some of his podium celebrations, and finally a picture of him with his team.
At that time he raced with Nissan, driving a GTR in the GT300 class to victory and a championship.
Yafya leaned back in his leather chair, “So?...You think that a touring car driver can take on a hyper car?”.
Sebun pressed the screen and continued explaining, “Not only a simple “Touring car driver”, she said while making air cotation, “But also an earlier Super Formula driver, one who has over 10 podiums and a big handful of victories to boot”.
It then flashed a bunch of pictures of Legosi while he was nothing more than a large teenager, holding some trophies high in the sky.
Yafya stood up and walked up to the screen, taking one big look at the photo that showed him celebrating, taking in every detail.
“And where is he now?” Yayfa asked politely.
Sebun quickly consulted her handy tablet and quickly responded, “He is currently racing in a smaller touring car championship, while driving a GR Toyota nonetheless!”.
She showed a calendar of upcoming races to Yayfa, seeing that the next race was in two days time, he smirked and shook his head.
“Sebun?”, he said with a boom.
Sebun took a quick step back from the large horse, “Yes sir!”.
Yafya walked back behind his desk and grabbed the driver profile, “Could you book a flight to Kyoto, i need to see what this kid can do.”
Sebun bowed, “Of course mister Yafya! Would you also like for me to book a hotel?” she responded.
Yafya simply nodded, to which she just walked out of the room leaving the horse to his own business.
He sat and looked at the picture of the wolf for a while, seeing every possible outcome imaginable for this young beast's career, this could be great he thought to himself, he looked back up at the screen seeing that lit smile showing while he sprayed the winners champagne.
