"Are you sure this will work Numbah One?" Numbah 2, the science officer for Sector V was anxious. All of Sector V was anxious. Many teams had tried to have child operatives infiltrate the grown up world, and all of them had failed. Their backstories don't check out, they're too short, they're obviously three kids in a trench coat etc.etc. However this time things could be different. Numbah One had found old documentation for a plan to keep the child brain alive within the brain of adults. What's more, one of these former agents has a job working at Mr Boss' Business Corporation. All they need to do is reawaken the child brain and they'll have a double agent.
"I trust your engineering Numbah Two" Replied the boss. "As long as your calculations are correct, Little Susie will wake up soon and then we just have to make contact. It'll be as easy as picking your nose."
Susie Rosenberg woke up in a strange room in a strange apartment wearing strange clothes. Strangely, everything was much smaller than it should be. It was like she had grown to be an adult over night. Seeing a tv with a screen much bigger than anything she'd ever seen, she turned it on, and a strange child appeared before her with no hair, a red turtleneck, and pitch black glasses. "Hello Susie," the boy on the TV said. We cannot hear you but you can hear us, obviously, because you're watching the TV. 12 years have passed, your body has grown up, but we found a way to keep your childhood fresh, like putting it in the freezer. We need you in the war against adulthood. I am sure you have heaps of questions, and we can answer them at a later time. We will provide a map to a secret location where we will tell you more about the mission. We have also provided you with a succulent Chinese meal and dessert to get you through the night. Numbah One over and out." The screen flickered and the broadcast signal swapped over to the news. Boring. Susie flicked through channels, found a 24 hour cartoon channel, and opened up her ice cream, eating it first before getting into the prawn crackers and long soup. It was indeed succulent. She didn't really care what was going on or about some big mission. She just wanted her teddy --- Mr Stuffins, and her mummy. The clock ticked slow and the dark lasted long, but in the end Susie slept, and in the end Susie woke, and in the end Susie opened up a bowl of corn flakes, poured on some sugar, and started her day. An hour, and two episodes of scooby doo later, she was dressed into a pair of overalls covered in pain splotches and a bright pink t-shirt and she was ready to see what the mission was. Naturally, she just left the bowl of cornflakes in the sink once she was done eating.
The location Susie was giving was a bus trip away into the suburbs, close to where she lives or used to live she thinks. Time passing is weird. Carefully following the map she gets to a tree house, where a strange kid wearing pilot goggles shows her up the ladder. There she is given her mission. "We need you to find out Mr Boss' new plan. You have a job at his company as an "executive assistant" whatever that is, though we believe it puts you close to him at most times. Find out what he's doing and report back to us through this two way radio. If you see anything suspicous take photos of it with this camera, the information will be beamed back to HQ right away. If all goes well we do believe we should be able to give you a kid's body again. If you accept, you will become Agent Half. If you do not accept we will have to terminate you for you know too much"
It was at this point the writer ran out of ideas and decided to call it a day. In the next part she will find out about Mr Boss' plan to abolish the weekend
