The air crackles in the Stu-Pi-Doh arena, a dizzying swirl of flashing lights and digital roars. Ami, her pink guitar pick glinting, slams her 'Super Soundwave' card onto the glowing mat.
"Take that, Yumi! King Chad will see my ultimate power! He's my nerd-prince prize!" Her eyes are narrowed, a fierce determination usually reserved for battling giant dust bunnies.
Across from her, Yumi smirks, her purple hair a spiky halo. She's clutching her 'Chaos Chord' card, ready to unleash a sonic assault. "Oh, please, Ami! He's clearly into my shredding prowess! He's totally my designated dork! Prepare for total defeat!"
King Chad, bespectacled and blissfully unaware, just blinks from his VIP seat, clutching a rare action figure. A shared glance, then a sigh. Ami’s fierce expression softens into exasperation.
"He's... just a guy with a plastic toy, isn't he?"
Yumi drops her card with a clatter. "Seriously. This is so not worth the drama. We're, like, literally battling over him ?"
With a synchronized shrug, they toss their remaining Stu-Pi-Doh cards, the holographic monsters scattering like glitter. The crowd murmurs in confusion. Ami and Yumi giggle, a sudden rainbow arcing brightly outside the arena windows, painting the grimy city with impossible, vibrant hues. They rush out, laughing, and embrace under its dazzling arch, arms wrapped tight.
"We totally don't need a King Chad, do we?" Ami giggles.
"Nah," Yumi grins, "we've got each other. And that’s way more awesome."
