It was a normal and usually sunny day on Fruit Salad Island with the sky covered in a beautiful orange-yellow hue. Everyone there is either relaxing on their seats or enjoying themselves (as in living in peace), whether it be by soaking up the sun, swimming in the sea or pool, collecting majestic shells, or engaging in other activities. Everything was perfect.
Except for one particular fruit on the island, and her name is Butchy, the rotten apple on said island. She's notorious for her terrible, impertinent behavior, making others scared of her. The way she treats others makes them scared of her (including Bingo Cherry, who was her target due to his size). She tends to bully people because that's what she likes—no, LOVED—to do in her spare time and has her schedule (even though Blackberry makes a schedule for her) on who to make fun of. It felt more like a lifestyle than a hobby to her, as she boosted her ego by starting with bullying those smaller than her and working her way up.
Nevertheless, the issue is that there is someone responsible for organizing a group that aids marginalized individuals in enhancing their self-esteem. So do say, she's more of a therapist, though she's an assistant to her mom's club. The fruit that is in charge of it is none other than a lychee named Li, the one that Butchy despises the most, like how she despised Bingo and Coconut Fred. Li is sweet, kind, and respects others, including those who were bullied, unlike Butchy.
In Butchy's view, Li was her obstacle when it came to poking fun at people, and it reminded her of the time she had been 'defeated' by Bingo and Fred, and eventually got her comeuppance from a giant dweeb. She doesn't want it to happen again and wants to avoid her as soon as possible, giving Butchy an idea on how to get rid of the obstacle.
Then one day, something happened, and that will change Butchy's view on Li forever, or not.
At noon, Li was walking around the island after her mom's club finished, and others went home. She felt tired as her club contained outdoor games like yoga, surfing, self-defence classes, and anything similar to that. She took a walk down the lonely beach, where some other fruits were still on display, for a break, until she bumped into Butchy. That simple act made the rotten apple flinch and frown.
"Hey! Who bumped into m-" Butchy paused as she saw Li fall to the ground, hitting her back against the warm sand. Li's eyes slowly opened to see Butchy towering over her and blocking the sunlight. Butchy's smirk appeared on her face like she had planned to see her.
"Oh, look who it is," Butchy said with a mock smile, showing her underbite. "A teeny tiny thing I could squish." She teased.
Li wasn't hurt by what she had said to her.
In fact, she kind of knew about Butchy and her antics of insulting others since she remembered seeing her steal some stuff and make someone cry. Li also remembered her mom noticing this before her, and Li's mom scolded Butchy by slapping her face. Li went to her mom to stop it, and her mom gave Butchy a stern glare and told her that Li would also look after Butchy if she caused more trouble than before.
Li crawled a bit away from her, stood up after fixing her pink hibiscus dress, and cleaned the sand that was slightly stuck on it by using her hands to grab the sides of her dress and shaking it.
"Don't be so silly, we have barely met," Li replied with a small smile, slightly showing the gap in her teeth. "The name's Li, nice to meet you!" She stretched her hand for a handshake.
Butchy was confused, but her face only showed anger. She looked around for a bit and gave her a handshake.
"Butchy," she said, looking annoyed, "But I'll only say this once. I'm only nice to you because of your mother."
"Well, nice to meet you, Butchy!" Li replied as she smiled more and moved her hand away after finishing the handshake. "I think I remember you before, and I wanted to say that I'm an assistant to my mom's club." She explained, backing off a little since she felt nervous when looking at Butchy's angry gaze, until she heard a call from one of her siblings. "I'm sorry, I have to go, see you!" She said before she walked away.
"Yeah, whatever," Butchy muttered.
After Li left, leaving her sight, Butchy sighed in relief and smiled to herself. "What a weirdo. She's so strange." She said herself, but as she looked at her giant hand, she saw a small paper that had numbers and an address.
Could it possibly be a phone number and address to the club that her mom works at?? That made Butchy confused. She then pulled a Blackberry from the pocket of her jeans.
"Blackberry, my plan has changed, I'm invited to the club from the weirdo's hysterical mom", she ordered to the Blackberry, who was only writing in his notebook.
