Work Text:
Matt was shivering, they loved showers and being clean, it was the ‘freezing afterwards’ part that they didn’t quite like. Their body refused to keep an ounce of heat, so they just threw on some cozy pajamas. After spending way too long on cleaning her face, she shivered her way into Tom’s flat.
The aforementioned was idly strumming Susan on his sofa, softly humming an incoherent melody. He was dressed casually in his ‘ska band’ shirt and some non-distinct checkered sleeping shorts. He seemed so absorbed in what he was doing he didn’t even hear the living room door’s lock click.
“… HOLY PUPPY IN A PUPPET FACTORY. I.. didn’t hear you come in..” He nearly dropped Susan but caught her and set her aside, his face flushing with embarrassment.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to intrude, I should have knocked.. I am just REALLY COLD.” Matt whined, adjusting the towel on her head then rubbed their hands together to attempt to get some warmth.
Without saying another word Matt moved next to Tom, basically throwing all of their body weight on top of him as they pulled him in for a hug from behind.
Tom didn’t really mind all that much though, leaning his back into Matt’s chest. He chuckled a bit, smirking while speaking next.
“Are you enjoying the warmth?”
Matt mumbled something non comprehensible in reply while nuzzling his face into the crook of Tom’s neck. Tom just let himself become her personal heater as they sat there cuddling.
After a while, Tom picked Susan back up and started strumming again, forming a vague melody. He hummed alongside it, letting himself get lost in playing.
Matt felt the vibrations of Tom’s humming ripple through her. How warm his body felt as they laid against him, sweat dripping down the back of his neck. His hands moving to play his beloved bass ever so deliberately.
They were in heaven. Well as close as a vampire could get to it, anyways. The silent living room only being filled with the low melody of Susan and Tom being in perfect harmony. It was bliss.
