“And we are back everyone! Thank you so much for your patience, I’m here now, has it started already?” Vi asked as she slammed into her chair, looking back and forth between her main computer screen and her webcam as she opened a can of her favorite energetic in a hurry.
Her chat was filled with negatives and she flashed a smile as she read through them, immediately shifting to change her live setup to show both her (although in miniature) and the A Legend’s League Dev Update video scheduled to come out at exactly 17:00. At this point, it was 16:53.
“Alright, we’re all set up now and with some time to spare!” Vi moved around on her chair, trying to get more comfortable.
> btllacadmylux: they said this was a pretty big update, what do you think they’ll show???
“Oh man, I have no idea!” she answered while leaning back to think about it. “They had talked about some more Autumn’s Bloom skins a while ago, perhaps they’ve got that, some legendaries or prestiges thrown in there.”
It had been some time since ALL (how most people referred to A Legend’s League) had a proper developer’s led update, for about 5 months there were no patches or new skins, only a couple of generic progress events that only granted the players already existing skins or emotes. For Vi, specifically, this was soul-crushing and also stress-inducing. She had been a full time streamer for two years and a half years now, starting her streams as an outlet to her crazy college workload and it ended up being something she enjoyed more than she could ever admit.
She played all sorts of game and catered to all audiences at the start, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil, The Last of Us, Life is Strange, Mario Kart, FNAF and every FPS game available on the internet, among others. But she truly felt at home when she had opened up a recently released game, A Legend’s League. She was immediately hooked by the mechanics, although a bit raw still, and the characters released, but she had one closer to her heart, Seraphine, who adorned the wall facing her back and camera.
“Ugh, this is so nerve-wrecking, you guuuuys.” She whined while staring at the Youtube’s countdown screen.

Vi felt a smirk growing on her face involuntarily, as she looked at the time marking 16:58 she decided it was go-time.
“Oh, but you guys, it will be something.” The smirk had grown into a fully stretched smile, mischief all over it. “And I know it’ll be something, because I know what they are goin to show…”

Vi laughed at the multiple reactions on her chat, blush creeping in her cheeks. She did, in fact, know what was about to be announced, because about a month ago she had been asked to be a part of it and it was just so hard for her to keep that secret, but also made her feel so elated to be so honored.
“Well…” the countdown hit zero and a second later a video loaded on the screen, showing the usual short animated sequence and fantasy music leading to the game’s logo. “You’ll just have to see for yourselves.”

“Hello, everyone! It’s HammerboyJ here, today with a long-awaited ALL dev update. Y’all excited? I sure am.” Vi kept looking back and forth between the chat and the video, her fingers already between her teeth, being chewed up as if they were to blame for her anxiety.
“As many of you know, ALL is reaching it’s 2 year anniversary and what better way to celebrate than to give our community our biggest present yet? Now, I’ll talk about the details later on in the video but first, here’s someone you might recognize to give the big news you have all been waiting for, huh?” A quick transition sequence took over the screen,and in the next second, Vi appeared on the video, a big, charming smile plastered on her face (different from the shy, trying to hold her laughter in, one she had right now), as she started talking quite naturally to the camera.

“Hey, everybody! It’s Violets4Vi here, on behalf of Revolution Games, to share some really great news.” Vi cringed on her seat at the sight of herself, her nervous laugh slowly creeping out. “As some of you know, I’m a big Seraphine fan and have always complained about the fact that the characters don’t have voice lines, like c’mon a singer who doesn't sing? So boring.” Video Vi scoffed to herself, her signature smirk never faltering. “But I’m honored to announce that, on July 7th, ALL’s second year anniversary, a new event will launch along with patch 4.7, with new game modes, brand new skins, and!” A dramatic pause, just for the sake of it. “All the existing champions will gain voice lines, some of which will interact with each other and perhaps dig a bit into their lore. Be sure to stay tuned to Revolution Games socials not to miss anything, there may be some new cinematics to introduce each character, now with their rightful dubbing, coming your way. And until next time, take care!”
The video went back to HammerboyJ talking about the specifics of the update, but to Vi, that became background noise as her chat was running wild. Messages popped up like there was no tomorrow, most of them congratulating Vi for scoring a partnership with her all time favourite game team and other cursing for having kept that a secret until the last minute. All she could do was apologise through her laughter and try to calm her viewers down.
