Chapter Text
It had been awhile since Vivi began to live in her new home in the monkey city, and she had met a lot of new faces! To her, she considers a few of them family to her. And it would be today, that Jade and her would see what things there is to check out or possibly get something.
Quite a lot of smaller, shops owned by some of the families were around out in the open, there weren't just the more commonly went to bigger places there were also these ones. It made Vivi feel right at home and want to see what they had to offer.
"So, do you like living here in this part of the city Vi? I know you probably haven't gotten super used to it yet, but I'd like to hear what you think." Jade asked.
"It's fun! There's so many more things to do around here, and people! So friendly and nice, I have adjusted a bit to it all." She replied happily.
They made a stop for a moment, today there was quite a lot of people gathered around buying many different things at these shops, somedays it would be huge like this. The clutter and noise made Vivi hang on to Jade closer, anxious at the huge crowds and noise around them. Jade looked over at her and made sure she would feel safe. To Vivi, Jade felt like that one older sibling she never had, which is why she clings to her like this sometimes.
"Just hang on a moment, we'll find somewhere around here not so cluttered. Gosh so many people are gathered near the farmers stand, they must have brought in some freshly grown bananas today.. I know many go crazy for those." Jade muttered.
She clings onto her. "It's a bit loud, and too much. Kind of scary to hear all of these people at once because it's so loud. Are we almost somewhere a bit more.. less chaotic?"
"I know we are, I promise. Just hang on a bit more okay? I know that crowded areas and the loudness is not your thing but, we'll find a quieter space here soon." Jade assured, she lightly patted Vivi's head.
She kept her close hold onto Vivi, making their way through the crowds of others. The further they went it somewhat lessened in people, they felt a wave of relief as it all seemed to be a much safer and more less chaotic spot to look around. While Vivi looks around at all the interesting stores, she sees something that catches her attention at one of them.
She lightly pulls Jade's arm. "Can I go over there..? I see something that looks cool." She asked quietly.
Jade looks over. "Hm? You want to go over to that little shop? Of course you can, go on right ahead I'll get us something to drink while you're there. See that stand right there a bit away infront? I'll be waiting right there."
She loosened her grip on Jade and went off on her own. It surprised Jade a bit to see her not mind that she wouldn't be right there, but it was a step towards being more comfortable in this new home.
As she arrived, she looked at all the accessories and fun things it had to offer. But what caught her attention most, was the soft looking plushes, that were designed after the heros! And she knew which one she wanted to get immediately.
"Excuse me.. is that plush right there for sale?" She asks, pointing to the one she wanted.
The owner looks over. "This plush of Gwendolin? Of course it is for sale! We make plenty of each for everyone, you're interested in buying?"
"Mhm! I'll gladly buy!" Vivi said happily.
She payed and was handed the soft plush, holding it in her arms giving it a caring hug. She always loved soft things and plushes, and this one in particular was special! She happily made her way back to wait for Jade, not stopping hugging the plush in her arms.
While she waited, someone familiar had spotted her in the distance. They decided to approach, giving her a gentle tap to get her attention.
"Vi? Didn't expect to see you here today! Did you get something cool?" They asked.
With the sudden feeling, Vivi jumped a bit. Hiding the plush behind her back and turning to look. It was none other then Gwendolin herself, she and Vivi had known one another for a good while.
"Ah! I didn't expect to see you here either! ..I did get myself something in fact, just because I thought it was nice." She replied, nervous about showing it off.
"I'd love to see what it is, there's lots of great things you can find here and I know you found something good!"
Vivi revealed the plush, showing it and all it's features. "..I-I thought it was cute, so of course I really wanted to get it. It's perfect and soft, and nice to hug.." She said shyly.
"Got your hands on one the plushes of us huh? Well, I'm quite flattered to hear you think of me as such." Gwen joked.
Vivi, quietly hid her bright red face with embarrassment, it made Gwendolin laugh seeing her reaction. While they were there Jade had returned.
"Hey sis, sorry I took so long. There was quite a line to get a simple drink, but I got one for you finally." Jade said.
Vivi looked up to see her back finally, taking her drink to refresh and cool off.
"I see you got yourself a plush. Quite a fitting choice too might I add." Jade teased, lightly nudging her.
"Huh? What do you mean by that? I-It doesn't mean anything!" Vivi stammered.
Gwendolin got closer to her, snickering mischievously. She lightly squished the sides of Vivi's face. Which causes her to freeze in place and face to grow brighter.
"No she's right, it definitely means something. I think it means that she has someone she considers her favorite, which is me of course. After all, she gushes about how cute I am to her, and gets all shy and adorable like this herself." She chuckled, she stopped squishing her face and instead just held it.
Vivi stood there, her heart racing and face warm. With jo words coming out of her, just high pitched squeaks that sounded like a mouse, and squeezing her plush tightly. Jade patted her head, giggling seeing just how easily Gwen gets to her.
"I think you got to her quite a bit! She sounds like a mouse right now, I've never heard her like that before." Jade laughed.
Gwen smiled. "Hehe yeah.. I think I may have gotten myself wrapped around that kind heart of hers. Isn't that right Vi?"
"...yes, that is correct." She whispered out.
Vivi took a sip of what she had, feeling slightly a bit more calmed down even after all the teases and jokes. Her face still a hint of blush though. Gwen eventually let go of her cheeks.
"So Vi.. I wondered if you were able, if you'd like to maybe hang around me for awhile today? I thought it'd be fun if we could just do whatever we wanted. Only if you're available though." Gwendolin asked.
Surprised, Vivi's eyes widened. "You want me to hang out with you? Today?" She asked, still a bit of shock.
She looked over at Jade, she didn't want to leave her sis behind, and felt a bit guilty.
"I-I don't know... Jade will you be okay with this? Sorry if it seems like I'm suddenly leaving you in the dust." Vivi said.
Jade gave her a reassured smile. "Aw Vivi, it's okay! I think it would be wonderful for you both to have a day to yourselves. I appreciate your consideration though, you should go on ahead with her and just do your own things."
"W-well okay! I'll gladly love to that with you! B-but first.. would it be alright if you waited here? It's incredibly hot right now and I'm sweating in these clothes! It'll be a quick change I promise." Vivi asked.
"Hot? Well to me I don't think it is, but, to you maybe it is because I came around with my heat." Gwen chuckled.
"It's the season! It is summer time! You.. you tease! I can promise you it is just the season." Vivi said.
"Aww so it wasn't me after all? Do you think I'm not—"
"What? Well of course not.. I mean!! You are very nice, and cool, a-and.. pretty– I-I mean! Wait hold on!" Vivi stammered, becoming flushed again.
"I'm just kidding with ya! I'll wait right here for you. Don't get burnt to a crisp out here Vi!" Gwen said.
Vivi took off back to her own home, the summer heat was in and wearing mostly layers is not a great idea in such a condition. Jade looked over with a warm smile.
"Take care of my little sis okay? I know you will but, just make sure she's safe and happy for me." Jade said.
"She's in good hands, I wouldn't let anything harm that pure heart of hers. I'll always make sure Vi is happy and having a good time." She added.
