Ever since BFDIA ended, things have been rough. And Needle and Pencil's relationship is no exception to it.
"Needle, what's wrong? You haven't been interacting with the other FreeSmarters in a while... Or me." Pencil observed, staring at Needle who was looking away. "Pencil... I." Needle spoke up, her high-pitched voice was a bit strained. "I don't think our relationship is healthy anymore." Silence erupted, Pencil looked confused. "Needle, what do you mean? That's just stupid, are you only saying that because we haven't been talking in awhile? Gosh, you're so needy." Needle stopped Pencil from speaking. "Pencil, I'm serious. You never take me seriously, you're demanding, I mean sure, sometimes you're great...! But it feels like you only want your judgement on this whole thing, I feel like a puppet rather than a partner. And don't call me needy." Needle had a serious expression, glaring at Pencil. Meanwhile Pencil scoffed, "First of all, I'm NOT demanding! I just have better ideas, at least I'm not bossy like that bozo brain." Pencil rolled her eyes, placing her hands on her hips. "Oh really? All those times you boss me around to get further into the game? Even when I do your bidding, you never give me what I want! Do you realize how many times I've already made a sacrifice yet you refuse to believe me?" Needle asked, crossing her arms. "Wha- Needle, listen, I'm not officially allowing you to enter FreeSmart because you're an alternate's alternate! And you'll stay that way until we need you!" Pencil pointed at Needle, "You just admitted that I'm a puppet. To you, and to FreeSmart." Needle flatly said, unamused. "Needle, it's not like that." Pencil explained, "Not like that? Then what is it? Because clearly I'm not valued as a team member in that clique." Needle sighed, clenching her fists. "I'm done with this whole thing, done with you, done with FreeSmart." Needle declared, she slightly regreted her words because she remembers all the great times she had with them, but at the same time, she was still disregarded.
...Since then, Pencil has avoided Needle. She became much more malevolent than before, which got her eliminated in BFB 2. Sure, she mended her and Match's relationship and yet, she couldn't stop thinking about Needle. Even if it had been a few years now, she wished she could've changed things.
Now, due to her vile actions, she's been stuck in this blue hell hole for 6 years, it started to take a mental toll on her. She's been going insane, she hopes to get out one day and never return to this wretched unknown place. Sometimes, she thinks it's her fault for this mess—I mean it is but, she didn't want to think about it right now.
Luckily, after 6 years, she was out of that place. But at what cost? She's now forced to work in a kitchen by another number alien. Their name was Two, she presumes. They look hideous.
Although, she did have a chance to join this new competition, it was called "The Power of Two", and even if it was hosted by the ugly alien, Pencil wanted to join. Why? Because she's competitive, she had nothing better to do, she didn't like working in the kitchen and because the prize is unlimited power.
And finally, her hopes were high as ever. Once Two casted the votes on who won, Pencil was a runner-up, and that was enough to be eligible to join TPOT. Pencil still disliked Two so she chose to be on Team CloudYAY while Liy chose BAGGED.
Pencil noticed that Book, Ice Cube and... Needle were here too. Pencil tried not to mind Needle and instead, focused on Book and Ice Cube. Which horribly backfired. Book and Ice Cube REFUSED to join her, Pencil became irritated at this.
During Pencil's time on TPOT, she noticed her brother, Pen and Needle get close, too close for her liking. It piqued her interest in a bothered way. She asked her teammates on info about the two, and to her annoyance, it was futile. No one knew what those two were exactly other than "great friends".
"Great friends, my ass. Clearly those two have more than that!" Pencil yelled to no one, why the hell would Needle move on to Pen of all people? Pencil won't admit it, but she's jealous, even when she, herself is taken by Match. Pencil is aware it isn't right but she can't help it! Not to mention, Pen is her literal brother! Pencil tried her best not to explode with anger.
In the 14th challenge, Pencil almost destroyed the entire universe with trying to set things back to the way it was, she had a chance to change things and fix her mistakes with Needle and other stuff, of course she'll take the risk. However, nothing was changed and in fact, it made people hate her even more. Pencil's mental health was crumbling more and more by the second.
In the 15th challenge, things weren't getting any better, she became rogue and reckless, ANYTHING from keeping her eliminated, even if it'd harm others. She didn't want to get eliminated. What if the elimination space was something like the EXIT? The TLC? It haunted Pencil's mind, she never wants to return, ever.
Once it was the 16th challenge, it shattered Pencil, Book hated her, huh? Hated her... fine, who needed them anyway? FreeSmart meant nothing to her at that point. Pencil just wants to be alone, away from the mess. But no, she can't even have that, Pen tried to comfort and give advice to Pencil. It was exasperating for him to talk, projecting his own problems about his loneliness onto her. But at the same time, it felt nice knowing someone cared enough to do this to her, yet she refused to speak, she was still upset. She perked up at the mention of Needle, which got her irritated again.
Pencil turned around, "What is Needle to you, Pen? What is she." Pencil demanded, a scowl on her face. Pen seemed surprised at her sudden question, he stayed silent for a moment, contemplating on whether or not he should tell it to her, he did hear from Needle herself that they were ex's. "Needle's an awesome friend, she's amazing and-" Pencil cut him off, "I know damn well that isn't the case! I've observed you two from afar, how close you were always were to each other, the laughs, the giggles, heck, I've seen Needle go to your room at night, so, tell me, Pen, what is Needle to you?" Pencil yelled. Pen was speechless, she knew? "I-... well." Pen sighed, rubbing his neck. "I'm sorry, Pencil, but we're... dating." Pen finally admitted. Pencil dreaded this moment, she knew what she was asking, she knew what was about to come and yet she was still in disbelief. "Fine, whatever! You can go and have Needle, but know that I'm not happy about it." Pencil turned away, crossing her arms. "Get out." She requested. Liy quickly closed the door to prevent from being caught at the private scene. Pen felt bad but obliged to his sister's command. He walked out the door, leaving Pencil to her thoughts.
