Work Text:
As you hear your boyfriend, Qiu arrive home, you head to greet him at the door only to be met by 4 teenage boys- one of them being your brother He Tian. Qiu had mentioned before that his new assignment involved “babysitting troublesome teens”, but no where had he mentioned your younger brother being one of them.
“Heyyy big sis~”, He Tian calls out, his face plastered with a stupid smug smirk.
You roll your eyes. It wasn’t a shock that he was one of the boys placed under Qiu’s care, as growing up; your older brother He Cheng had always entrusted Qiu with both his younger siblings. The other boys however, were unfamiliar. As you take in their appearances, you notice the redhead holding a fresh King crab.
“Uhh what’s going on?”, you question as you turn to face your boyfriend.
“I bumped into them while coming home. They were planning on cooking food, so I bought them a crab if they would make enough for us all.” Qui replies, stepping closer to you to snake an arm around your waist, earning a grimace from He Tian.
“Why would you invite him over?” you grumble mostly to yourself.
Of course you didn’t hate your brother, but he was the single person on earth who could get under your skin the way he does.
The rest of the boys give various nods and greetings as they removed their outside clothes.
“Sis, don’t worry! My good friend here Little Mo is the best cook you’ll ever meet! He’ll cook us up a nice dinner, you’ll see!” He Tian beamed, slinging an arm around the redhead.
“Ok, whatever. Just don’t make a mess please”, You sigh turning away to go sit down.
As the boys settle down, you watch the redhead get to work, boiling various pots, as the others lounge around. As fast as the food is prepared, it’s eaten.
“You guys done yet? If so, clean the warehouse.” Qiu suddenly declares.
The 4 boys quickly pack themselves up, throwing around various excuses like “We have plans”, as they head for the door.
You lean back in your chair, eyes raking over the heap of dirty dishes sat on the now abandoned table.
“Don’t worry they’ll clean it when they’re back”, Qiu says calmly, not moving from his position. “There’s a bad thunderstorm brewing outside.”
As if on queue, the now drenched boys hurriedly scurry back into the warehouse, picking up random things to move around and clean.
You and Qiu head for the living room to relax after the satisfying meal, when suddenly the power goes out.
Instinctively, you tense up, grabbing onto Qiu’s solid arm.
“For fucks sake.” he mutters, “Stay here. I’ll go reboot the breaker box”. He watches you nod before disappearing into the darkness of the corridor.
Taking a seat on the nearby couch, your moment of peace is abruptly disrupted by the sound of yelling and screaming coming from the warehouse. You debate getting up as you know how overdramatic He Tian can be, but ultimately decide to go investigate.
Sticking your head round the door, your eyes are illuminated by the blaze of a fire.
“WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU GUYS DO??” Your eyes widen as you grab your brother by the collar.
“It was an accident! It was an accident! Just don’t tell Brother Qiu!” He exclaims.
“Don’t tell Qiu!? Are you serious right now?? Do you know how important his bikes are to him!? He’s gonna have all your necks!”
After a painful amount of fire extinguishers being used up, the flames has finally died down, leaving behind ashes and scraps of what could only be Qiu’s precious motorcycle collection.
And now, Qiu had the 4 boys lined up on their knees, bowing their heads to him.
As you stand beside him, you don’t even have to look at him to know that he’s on the verge of murder. You lean closer to him, letting a flat hand onto his back.
“Qiu, baby, stay calm. It was only an accident, they didn’t mean to, and they would never dare ruin your bikes”, you whisper, trying to calm his stiffened body.
He takes a deep breath and slowly unclenches his fist at your words, stepping forward to question the boys on who started this mess.
“It wasn’t me! It was redhead!” Jian Yi cries out.
Qiu looms over the quivering boy. “Brat, how do you plan on repaying me?”
He immediately rises to his feet, chugging the nearest alcohol bottle. “I don’t have money! Just beat me up!” He bursts out.
The rest of the boys get up, He Tian snatching away the bottle from Mo, while the other two wrestle over a different bottle; leaving you and Qiu to watch their dramatics unfold.
“What is this circuitry? Surely they’re not mentally deranged.” Qiu mutters through his cigarette, a deadpanned look on his face.

As the boys make their way up to the house, you and Qiu are left to clean up the mess handed to you.
“I’m so sorry about He Tian and his friends, baby. I’m sure He Cheng will pay for all this”, you try to reassure him.
“As long as your brother pays me back for the damage, it’s fine”, Qiu exhales, picking up a mop.
“All he does it cause trouble, I swear. You never should’ve let him into the house to begin with. Let alone his stupid friends. Thank you for staying calm and not killing anyone though.”
“Yeah, whatever. It’s only because it’s your brother… and boss would kill me”, he forces a smile.
“Now i get why you come home so grumpy all the time. Having to take care of my younger brother”, you roll your eyes.
As Qiu snickers at your comment, the sound of the teenage boys’ screaming cut through the quiet atmosphere.
“What the hell are they up to now”, you sigh as your shoulders sag in defeat.
Following your boyfriend up to where the boys had set up for the night, you can make out the sound of water. A lot of water. You walk faster, pushing past him to the living room where you take in the sight of the four boys drenched and panicking on the sofa.
“He Tian, what the hell?!” You grab the remote pressing the button to close the ceiling window.
“I’m sorry sis, it was an accident. Zhan Xi thought it was the air con remote and-“ He Tian tries to explaining, waving his hands.
“No! I don’t care! I’m done! All of you get out of my house. Right now.” You snap.
Zhan Xi and Jian Yi get up hurriedly upon hearing your tone, while He Tian pulls Mo off the sofa. You clench your teeth and tap your foot trying not to explode with anger.
Watching all of this take place, Qiu stands quietly behind you, leaning on the doorway with a smug smile on his face.
Once you had successfully kicked them all out, you collapse onto the bed with a sigh of relief. You feel the bed dip next to you. “Thought you said to ‘stay calm’”, Qui looks down at you with a smug look.
“Shut up”, you grumble rolling over in the bed, pouting. “They ruined my sofa.”
“My brother will pay you back don’t worry” He mocks you in a high pitched voice.
You slap his arm playfully, when you hear a buzzing from your pocket. Pulling out your phone, you see the words ‘Big Brother’ on the screen.
After a scolding from He Cheng, you and Qiu head back out to the boys.
“Snitching on me to big bro? Are you serious He Tian?” You smack his head.
