Cremation's Remains - My Hero Academia Fanfic

Summary:

Matsaki Yagi, a student at U.A high school it should go normal right the years before it had gone normal. He can only hope that this goes well, he really wants a normal high school experience although who he's related to and who they know that might not be possible but he's gonna try anyways.

This is an AU and technically I squeal but I haven't made the prequel yet so it doesn't really matter right now. The poor boy doesn't know what's coming unfortunately.. but I do hehe

Inspired loosely by DistortedDialogue's MHA fanfic.

Notes:

Matsaki's name has a meaning (obviously) and maybe the meaning of it could give you guys a hint who his parents are, maybe

Chapter 1: First day of school

Notes:

Yasei's name comes from this person's design with very little design similarities:

Chapter Text

Matsaki took in a deep breath as he stared at the walls around U.A's campus grounds, he shook his head before walking through the gate. His turquoise and red eyes looking over every bit of the school as he walked towards the door with a big ‘1’ on it, his feet moved as walked through the halls looking up at how high they went he couldn't help but wonder if they had ever needed to be that tall.

He walked to the doors with a sign hanging above labeling it ‘1-A’ he stepped into the classroom and looked at the other students in there. “Yo! Matsaki, it is you” Matsaki looked towards a slightly taller teen with dark yellow hair that faded to black with red eyes, he smiled slightly as the other teen approached. “Hi Sho”

Sho threw an arm around Matsaki as he ruffled the other's multi-colored hair, Matsaki swatted at Sho's hair before fixing his short hair. “Leave my hair alone” he grumbled and Sho just laughed before a black-haired teen walked over slightly to the two with a big smile. “Hey guys come on let's calm down, don't mess with each other too much”

Matsaki and Sho looked at the third teenager and Sho stuck his tongue out at him. “Aw Yasei don't be a buzz kill, I'm just teasing Matsaki you know that” Sho said as he looked at the black-haired teen, who just smiled at the two and shrugged. “Still Sho, don't tease him too much” Yasei said before tapping Sho's forehead making the other teen make a small huff.

Matsaki looked at the two before blinking a bit. “I'm surprised we're in the same class, figured they would split us up” he said jokingly and Yasei and Sho laughed both of their laughs loud but in a different way, Sho shrugged as he moved his hands while talking. “Oh well it doesn't matter now we aren't being separated now, we're peas in a pod!” Sho said as he wiggled three fingers and Yasei and Matsaki kind of just both shrugged in agreement.

The three then went to their seats, Matsaki's was next to the door at the front of the class, Sho was more in the middle while Yasei was by the window in the back of the class. After everyone settled into their seats the bell rang, not long after the door opened and the teacher walked in. Matsaki watched as the black long haired male walked into the classroom, his expression tired and unamused as he looked at the class.

“I'm your homeroom teacher for this year, I'll say this now I won't tolerate much behavior that leans towards any rule breaking” the teacher spoke as he looked over the class before he turned to leave the classroom. “Change into your gym uniforms” a student raised their hand before talking. “Um sir aren't we supposed to go to orientation?” The girl asked and the teacher looked at her. “No, we aren't doing that, change into your gym uniforms and meet me outside the second gym building don't be late”

With that the teacher left the classroom sliding the door shut, some of the teens began to talk amongst themselves in confused whispers trying to figure out what was going on. Yasei stood from his desk and stretched before smiling, his blue eyes focused on the path ahead, “alright then I guess we should get going, don't want to be late” he said before leaving the classroom. “I agree, being late sounds like it will end up with us in trouble” Sho said as he stood up with his hands in his pocket as he also left the classroom. “See ya later” he called out behind him.

Matsaki got up and left the classroom along with a few other students as they all headed to the locker rooms to change into their gym uniform, he was focused on changing and heading to where they needed to be so he didn't really care for what people were talking about. “Say is your hair naturally that color?” One of Matsaki's classmates asked as they headed to gym two, he nodded as he glanced up slightly. “Yeah, my hair has always done this sometimes one color is more obvious than the rest but oh well”

“It kind of makes you look like a-” Matsaki cut his classmates off to finish their sentence. “Like a calico cat, if I got money for every time someone said that to me” he said with a small sigh as they approached gym two, there were some other students but no teacher. Matsaki walked over to Sho and Yasei standing next to the two as he looked around. “Where's your dad?” He whispered to Sho and the taller teen shrugged.

“Dunno, where's your growth spurt?” Sho whispered and Matsaki flipped him off, before crossing his arms over his chest. “I'm older than both of you, watch it” Matsaki said and Yasei laughed some as he didn't bother to try and play mediator right at that moment. “Yet you are the shortest so eh, although Yasei is just tall and muscular did you bulk up more over break?” Sho asked and Yasei glanced at himself, he had mostly lean muscle but was still physically fit looking. “Yeah a bit, I did all kinds of training for the entrance exams” Yasei admitted as he looked at Sho.

————————————————————————

Matsaki stood in shock and relief as he heard about a fourth of his classmates get expelled before the school year even started. He knew Aizawa was strict but seeing it and hearing it were different things, he looked at Sho and Yasei and the two glanced back at him but none of them said anything. As they headed back to the locker rooms to change Matsaki let himself drift off into thought.

“Saki-chan” Sho said, nudging Matsaki, making the tri-colored haired teen look at him with a bit of a scowl. “Don't call me that Sho, you know I hate it when people call me that,” Matsaki grumbled and Sho just laughed and shrugged as they entered the changing room, they got back into their school uniforms then headed back to class. “What were you thinking about anyways? You were super spaced out I called you a few times before calling you your old childhood nickname”

Matsaki shrugged slightly as they walked into the classroom with their classmates. “I was just thinking about stuff, nothing in particular” he said as he walked over to his desk and Sho headed to his own desk. The time seemed to pass relatively quickly before it was time for lunch, Matsaki walked with his classmates listening to them talk as they walked to the cafeteria. “Oh- I'm sorry”, Matsaki glanced back, feeling someone bump into them, the other teen wasn't much shorter than him. “Uh, it's all good” he said and watched the teen walked off to catch up with some other students.

Lunch was interesting. There were a ton of students in the cafeteria and it was a bit overwhelming. He got his lunch and sat next to Sho and Yasei, sticking his face against Yasei's bicep. “Haha, you're done already? Lunch just started” he laughed and Matsaki just groaned. “You know I don't do well in crowds” Matsaki mumbled before sitting up to eat his lunch, he listened to Sho and Yasei talk with a few other students nearby watching the two be social butterflies.

He looked around the busy lunchroom before squinting a tiny bit. “I'll be back, you two can finish my lunch if I'm not back before it's over” Sho and Yasei glanced towards Matsaki before Yasei looked towards where Matsaki had been looking and nodded with a smile. “Alright, later Matsaki” Yasei said and Sho waved some. “See ya later” Sho said, muffled as he had food in his mouth, Matsaki stood up and walked away from the table.

Matsaki walked over to the tall blond-haired teacher who was doing something else, he proceeded to kick at the other's ankle making the taller man jump. “Excuse me- Matsaki, don't do that” the teacher scolded and Matsaki shrugged as he walked ahead the taller man following behind him. “So how are you liking your first day?” The teacher asked and Matsaki shrugged. “It's going fine, like a quarter of my class got expelled earlier” Matsaki said as he rubbed at his ear slightly before lowering his hand. “Ah.. I see” the teacher's voice a bit strained before he sighed. “No matter, Aizawa is always doing things like that,” he commented and Matsaki snorted.

“Yeah but it was still a shock to like see it” Matsaki commented as he kept walking next to the teacher through the hallway, a soft amused sigh came from the teacher before he patted Matsaki's head. “Well I think you'll do fine today, although you'll be disappointed to find out your hero class doesn't start until tomorrow” Matsaki groaned at the teacher's words and looked up at him. “Really..?” His voice was flat in tone as he looked at the teacher.

The taller male just nodded his head and gave him a soft apologetic smile. “Unfortunately the schedule has changed from the year prior. First years now have their first hero course class on the second day of school since they have orientation” Matsaki groaned loudly before grumbling under his breath about it being a dumb change, but the bell made him stop. “It's alright tomorrow will be sooner than you know” the teacher said optimistically and Matsaki groaned again. “Alright old man..” Matsaki groaned before waving to the teacher and walking away back towards the classrooms.

 ————————————————————————

“These are your class' dormitory, you're required to stay here during the first week of school and during exams but aside from that it's optional” Aizawa explained as the led the class into the dormitory, before showing them around the building and explaining some things about the dorm before telling them who's room was where. Afterwards Aizawa left them to unpack their things and get settled in, Matsaki didn't have a ton to unpack because he didn't bring a lot.

Matsaki headed downstairs to the first floor where a few of his other classmates were, he saw Yasei sitting on the couch and he walked over and sat next to him. “I'm sure you're happy to be on the second floor” he said and the black-haired teen nodded as Yasei glanced over towards a few other classmates who were coming downstairs. “I am, luckily I didn't have to ask to switch rooms with anyone” Yasei said with a laugh before standing up stretching. Some of their classmates came down into the living room and were talking with Sho about something.

“What is with you and English? Like why do you like it so much” one of them asked and Sho shrugged dramatically. “I don't know man, I like English. What's wrong with that?!” Sho said his arms raised slightly as he defended his love for English class, some of the others chimed in with their dislike for the subject or neutrality to it. But even the other students who liked English didn't like nearly as much as Sho did, Yasei laughed as he stood up and stretched his arms out. “Yeah Sho is just an English lover, not much can change that” Sho just laughed and shrugged.

Matsaki stood up and walked out of the room as he still heard Sho defending and explaining his enjoyment of English as a subject and language. He was tired, today had worn him out so he headed back up to his room. He opened the door to his dorm and walked in closing the door behind him, he changed then laid on his bed. His dark turquoise and red eyes looking at his notification bar seeing a text from his dad and another from his grandma, but he wasn't going to look at those right now, so he shut off his phone off and closed his eyes. Tomorrow would certainly be eventful but that wasn't his issue right now, the only thing that interested him was sleeping until his alarm went off in the morning.

Notes:

Also I made a post on Tumblr with the dorm rooms arrangement, I will probably update eventually with the names of their other classmates as everyone gets to know each other better.
