Chapter Text
It's the press conference after the 2024 Royal Rumble. Triple H(Paul) is being interviewed.
“Hey Paul over here!” An interviewer exclaims. Paul turns his head.
“Recently Vince has been faced with allegations and even a lawsuit involving sex trafficking, rape, and skimming through the lawsuit he apparently shat on a girl’s head during sex. What degree of knowledge did you guys know about the things in the lawsuit when you guys voted him back into power last year.”
Paul pauses for a moment. “Well, I am gonna say what you guys expect me to say.”
Okay, so he’s just going to say “no comment.” All of the journalists in the room expected that. That is why they were advised not to ask any questions in regards to the lawsuit because they don't expect Paul to say anything meaningful. Besides, he is supposed to be professional.
“We had a really good week with our new Netflix deal and we sold out the Royal Rumble tonight. Right now I just want to focus on the positive even though there is a big negative."
The journalists were dumbfounded. Did this guy say his father in law committing sex trafficking and rape against a woman was a negative? Understatement of the year. Now a journalist named Brandon curiosity is piqued with other questions in regards to the lawsuit or rather if Paul actually read the lawsuit. The journalists in the room hesitated to ask that question because, well, it should be obvious that he actually did read the lawsuit because that is literally his job.
“Right hand corner!” A journalist yells. Paul turns his head.
“Hi I am Brandon Harrison from Preston. Did you read the lawsuit that came out this week and if you did what was your reaction?”
Some of the Journalists let out a heavy sigh because that should be an obvious answer. Yeah the answer to the first question was surprising but come on the answer to this one is clear as day.
“No I haven't read the lawsuit,” Paul confidently says.
Did this guy just admit to the public he didn't do his job? Who is his PR team? No scratch that does his PR team actually exist? Those are just some of the thoughts that raised through the journalists’ heads.
“I will go back to what I said before. This has been an amazing week for us and I don't want to think about the negatives.”
After that some of the journalists are gonna make sure he only thinks and talks about the negatives.
Triple H on the other hand wants to make light of the situation so he chuckles and says, “I mean, not even Tony Kahn[president of AEW] can't even pull the numbers we pulled.
“How many rape allegations does Tony Kahn have!” An impatient journalist yelled.
Paul stared into the journalist’s direction with a look of frustration.
“Okay you guys want a real fucking answer,” Paul sternly says.
“I would much rather drink Chris Benoit’s ashes then read about what the fuck my father in law is into in the bed or his fucking felonies. This has been a shitty situ-,” Paul pauses because he realizes that was terrible wording.
Paul just sighs and walks away. While he is walking out a person from his PR team stops him.
“Paul, you could've said “No comment” or I can't comment on an on going legal matter.”
Paul stops and looks at him. “Why didn't you tell me before?”
“Sir with all due respect, you’ve been in this business ever since I was in kindergarten. You should know this.”
This interview was another negative for WWE.
