Work Text:
Harsh footsteps stomped through the hard pavement as Jun made his way into the warehouse. He made his decision. He isn't going to back out now. He worked for her for years now. Her cocky ass can belong somewhere else. She had the beauty, brains and money, she can always just find herself a new “Jun”.
“Oh hello my dear Junnie! What can I help you with?” Echoes the voice of a familiar woman.
“I want to end this partnership.” He said in a stern tone
The ginger stuttered “What…? No you’re kidding right..?”
“I’m serious Evelyn."
Emerald eyes bores through his head as she looks in shock, Jun had enough with this woman.
“Did you have a bad day..? We can go shopping if you would like that..!”
“God, I said what I had to say!”
Moments later Jun lunged onto the ginger, holding her in place so she couldn’t move. In response, she broke one of her arms free and took out her pocket knife and pierced his left eye. plop, plop, crimson blood was dripping from his eye but he couldn’t care less. Sheer malice soon consumed him whole as he overtook the woman that soon will be declared dead and will be known as the previous boss of this organisation.
Unfortunately she was stronger and despite him being quite built. Evelyn aggressively pushed Jun into a wall with her dangerously sharp stilettos, pulled out her gun and cornered him to a wall. Crimson blood dripped from the ex quarterback’s head from the impact of the push. A glock soon pressed to his chest.
“My dear if you end this partnership, you’ll end up in the streets.. you don’t want that do you?”
“I rather be in the streets than work for you!”
“What about your brother? What would he think? You know.. homeless people aren’t easy to identify… Do you really want to give your brother a harder time finding you?”
“Don’t you dare speak about my brother like that! He will find ways. Don’t underestimate him!”
If he can’t take over her position, he might as well leave. He was never fond of her anyway, he was a desperate high school graduate who got his brother and parents ripped away from him and needed to make ends meet to survive. He had to work for her, there was no other choice.
With all his strength, he pushes the boss aside, knocking her to the ground and stormed out of the warehouse. If he’s going to be homeless, so be it. Maybe if he’s lucky enough, he might get a job but with a bad criminal record, it will be difficult.
The moon sneered upon him like a mocking shadow. Droplets of crystal water descended from the ink like night, hitting the pavement like hard rocks.
Jun sat down by the city curb, drenched in rain water. The blood from his hand soon mixes with the water, eye still stings from the stab. It hurts, but nothing hurts more than to constrain that woman’s orders.
Rays of light from the moon and rain were suddenly blocked out as an umbrella hovered above his head. Jun soon looked up and saw a man in a black coat that had a silhouette resembling a rabbit, his lips formed a smirk, his eyes weren’t visible due to the big fedora he had on his head. Just what did this man want from him?
“I heard that you ended a certain contract.. and by the way things escalated. I’m going to guess it got quite complicated.”
“…what the hell do you want?”
“I’m going to assume that you have a quite bad criminal record, given who you used to work for.. which means finding a job will be quite difficult for you, so I have an offer. You’ll help me with collecting debt. You don't have to condone any violence if you don’t want to, my gang can handle it.”
Wow, is this his lucky day or his unlucky day? He just wants to live a normal life, getting a normal job while getting to be around his brother, parents and friends but with the route he has taken, that kind of life doesn’t seem to be an option anymore.
“Fine. I’ll take the offer.”
…
“What’s the name?”
..
“The name’s Mafioso”
.
“Jun Inagaki. Nice to meet you.”
