"I wOndER whAt WoUld HaPpEn If We KiSSed!?" Marshmallow Sword randomly said while just walking around with Cocoagraft.It was about noon,they where both walking in a less busy part of CrossRoads,where it was just them.A slightly chill washed over the two.Cocoagraft was quite used to Marshmallow's antics by now,but that's pretty much how always is.Loud,obnoxious,always getting himself in stupid situations,but despite that they have to admit they quite enjoyed his company.The question did caught Cocoa off-guard tho,if they're being honest.
"HMM,I DUNNO" Cocoagraft responded. "BUT I WOULDNT WANT ANYTHING BAD HAPPENING AS THE RESULT"
Marshmallow just stayed silent for a bit,before looking back up & giving that goofy-smile of his. "iT wOUldnT hUrt To At LeAsT to TRy,RiGhT?"
"LISTEN,IM NOT EXACTLY SURE BUT THINK ABOUT THIS,YOURE A LITERAL WALKING MARSHMALLOW,IM A BIOGRAFT DESIGNED TO SERVE COCOA & OTHER SIMILAR HOT BEVERAGES.AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT MARSHMALLOWS IN HOT COCOA?" Cocoa said looking directly at Marshmallow.He stayed quiet.Cocoagraft continued.
"THEY MELT,AND I DONT WANT YOU MELTING.WE ALREADY HAVE TO BRING A FAN OR A UMBRELLA OR ANYTHING EVERYWHERE WE GO IN CASE IF ITS HOT OUTSIDE,THANKFULLY IT ISNT AS HOT TODAY".They didn't want to exactly push away Marshmallow,they both where close,but they could barely make much physical contact considering the fact that he's a walking marshmallow,and they are a biograft that's supposed to serve hot Cocoa & such stuff considering Marshmallow could possibly melt,they didn't want that happening again.
"hMmMMmmm" Marshmallow Sword thought."iS tHeRE a WaY tO mAkE It So,I wOuLdNT mElT?"
"...IM NOT SURE.THERES A WHOLE HEATING SYSTEM INSIDE ME TO KEEP ALL OF THE HOT BEVERAGES HOT,AND THE ONLY WAY TO TURN IT OFF IF I HAVE SHUT DOWN OR ANYTHING"
The two just stood there in silence,not exactly knowing how to continue.But before Cocoa could react,Marshmallow suddenly leans in & gives them a small smooch.Cocoagraft just stood there,frozen
"....IM NOT SURE HOW TO FEEL,BUT YOU KNOW YOU COULD VERY WELL MELT,RIGHT?"
Marshmallow giggled. "BuT yOU LiKeD iT! I kNoW iT!"
Cocoagraft stayed silent for a bit,before speaking once more.".....I GUESS SO-"
They where silent for a few more moments once more,waiting for anything to happen.But no,nothing happened.Well Marshmallow's face-specifically the area around his mouth did seem to somewhat melt but it wasn't as serious,for now
"sEE! a SmAlL sMoOch DIdnT kIll Me!" Marshmallow exclaimed
"....YEA"
Without another word,Cocoa leaned in towards Marshmallow's face,and he in response only leaned in closer.Cocoa didn't exactly have a mouth-so it was more like Marshmallow was kissing them instead & stuff.It felt as if the whole world just paused completly.It felt-oddly nice.The two shared a hug for a bit,arms wrapped around eachother's necks.They pulled away,holding eachother's hands.It was peaceful,and they hoped that peace would last for a eternity.
But all of a sudden,they felt as if they where losing Marshmallow's grip of his palms,they could feel something melting in their robotic-palms.They paused,and looked directly at Marshmallow,and they where-horrified at the sight.
Marshmallow Sword,was there,still holding onto their palms,still smiling,as they slowly melted.He seemed,completly aware of what's happening to him,but he's still holding on.

Cocoagraft tried saying something,but nothing would come out.They looked terrified.
"........WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? YOURE MELTING! YOURE DYING!LET GO OF MY HANDS!-".Cocoa finally managed to let go of his hand,but before he could so anything to get anything to try & make sure he wouldn't melt anymore so he would die-Marshmallow grabbed their hands once more,holding onto them with a tight grip.
"IM TRYING TO MAKE SURE YOU WOULDNT DIE-WHAT-WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?"
Marshmallow let out a chuckle. "iTs FiNe,ItS cOmPLeTly FiNe-"
"NO ITS NOT COMPLETLY FINE!- " Cocoa broke their hands free from Marshmallow's grip,quickly grabbing whatever they have managed to bring with them just in case in their bag.At that point,Marshmallow's bottom half was already melted.
They could only find a small fan they brought a long,but it definitely wouldn't be enough.
They felt Marshmallow suddenly grab them once more,looking up at them with seemingly tired eyes,and that smile of his was still on there even tho theyre literally dying.
"hAh....nO iTs FiNe,I dOnT mIND..." Marshmallow sword said. "I dOnT mInD mElTinG,iF iT mEAnS iM bEsIDe yOu"
".....NO,YOU SHOULD MIND YOURE QUITE LITERALLY DYING-"
Marshmallow hugged them,wrapping their arms around Cocoa for the last time as they slowly melted,and all Cocoa could do is hold him.
WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID,YOU KNEW THE CONSEQUENCES,YET YOU STILL DID IT,NOW HES DYING IN YOUR ARMS

"...tHaNk YoU" was all Marshmallow finally said before shutting his eyes.Cocoa brought of what remained of him closer to themself.If they could cry,they surely would be.And thus,he eventually melted in their arms,his helmet fell & made a CLING!! sound as it hit the ground.It was all what remained of him.Cocoa looked around,and surely there was no one,no one but themselves,and of what remained.
They picked up the helmet,and held it close.Guilt washed over them as they examined the helmet.That "what if we kissed!?" question was the thing that has led to this exact moment,and nothing could be undone.
They hated it
They where a robot,they're not supposed to be grieving over the loss of someone
They where never meant to be in love
They where never meant to become sentient
Yet here they where,shaking as they held the helmet of someone who has managed to get so close to-and it costed his entire life
It was stupid,they knew
"....ITS GETTING LATE,I HAVE TO GO BACK,I HAVE A JOB" Cocoagraft eventually brought themself to stand up,still shaking with Marshmallow's helmet in his hands.Theyre not sure how everyone else would exactly react,but they think its best to not say anything.
The others are reasonably concerned,but Cocoa doesn't respond with anything.Why must they know of the stupid mistake they made? Its best to stay quiet,
at least for now.
