Chapter Text
Volo looks down at his hands in terror, watching the red liquid slowly drip down his fingers. That is blood, it is his blood.
"This– this wasn't supposed to happen." He mutters to himself, frantically shaking his head.
"No no no no."
He was supposed to be safe, he was going to meet Arceus, and the only thing left to stop him was the damned child. The small child that couldn't actually do anything to stop him. He had a GOD on his side, their pokemon stood no chance!
They wouldn't even physically be able to lift a hand, nor want to, the sweet thing. But then, in the heat of battle, Volo's final weapon had betrayed him.
And Giratina had no such qualms about violence.
A dark muscled tentacle, sharp and dangerous, had wrapped around his waist with no regard for his life, and then the pokemon had all but thrown him through the portal.
This wasn't supposed to have happened.
Six mesely words yelled in utter terror, screamed by a kid so small they don't even reach his shoulders, "Please! Giratina! My friend, it's me!"
That's all that was needed for Volo to end up here, that's all that was needed for his defeat. All of his dreams, all of the answers, everything he deserved, gone.. just like that. He doesn't even care how the kid knew the distortion god, it only matters that they do.
He laughs, he laughs until the pain in his stomach becomes too much, then it dies down into giggling, into sobs.
The portal is gone, there is nothing to do but wait for Giratina to return.
