Chapter Text
Cry.
That was all Taylor knew how to do. His back and chest ached with the pain of fresh-bloomed bruises, wheezing for breath. His vision swirled and wobbled with the tears that gathered between his eyelashes, streaming down the side of his face in a steady flow as his father walked away, leaving him beaten for the time being. His father, ever strict, had caught him online far past his allotted time, and in turn had punished him severely.
Taylor found comfort in his mother's arms as she scooped him up and cooed softly to him, her tone soft and cajoling as she comforted the young boy and carried him to his bedroom. At the very least, he could look forward to getting a game, as his mother had promised him the small treat to keep him quiet and satisfied so as to not report his father to anybody. Even if he was a terrible, awful man, she still loved him and couldn't bear to give her child a fatherless life. After a bit of teary-eyed pleading, Taylor had even gained the rights to stay up on his laptop a little bit longer!
He curled up happily under his bed, still nursing the bruises on his chest while he powered on the computer and clicked quickly over to something he knew would bring him comfort. /Roy Koopa/, though better known as KG on his channel. Taylor found himself smiling as the familiar stream visuals loaded up—A small game of Smash between Oddwolf and Roy—and giggled as he talked to people in chat.
"My dad hit me tonight," He typed, keeping his tapping as quiet as possible out of instinct. "It's okay, though. My mom says I can get a new game now!" Taylor's fingers moved unsure across the keyboard, not quite skilled at it just yet. He'd only recently gotten the laptop, after all- A hand-me-down from his mother. Many in chat comforted him, wishing him well and good graces. He appreciated the wishes, though frowned a little at the lack of response from KG. That was okay, though. He was a popular youtuber, of course he was busy. But then...
"Aw, Taptart... Is everything okay?" Roy's voice spoke softly into the mic, though he kept playing. A small smile crossed Taptart's lips as he responded with a simple "Yes". This was the start of something lovely.
