Work Text:
Here’s the thing, Wonwoo Jeon wasn’t exactly the type of person Mingyu Kim usually hung around with.
Sure, they were both celebrities in their own right. Mingyu was a child of the spotlight—his fame practically baked into his DNA. His first magazine cover came before he could even walk, and his family’s long-running reality show had cameras following him since he was old enough to hold a spoon.
Mingyu had never experienced not being famous.
(He had always been known, even before he could decide if that was something he had wanted for himself.)
Wonwoo took a more traditional route, he went to the Philippine High School for the Arts, graduated with a degree in Philippine Arts, and began acting on the side while nurturing a quiet, steady career. He wasn’t flashy or loud. He wasn’t interested in keeping as many eyes on him as possible, which couldn’t be said for a lot of … talents. He was grounded, thoughtful, and serious about his craft and boy did the highbrows adore him.
He was the complete opposite of Mingyu who had been raised in the glitz and glamour of the showbiz industry. But of course, the industry was still small (Mingyu will dare to say that it was borderline incestuous most times) and Mingyu and Wonwoo were still bound to meet.
In a perfect world, they would’ve stayed in their own corners. They’ll exchange names, nods, and a handshake, and then they’ll go their separate ways, only ever exchanging polite smiles if they ever come across each other again.
At least that was how things were supposed to go.
Fate had other plans for them.
Blind Item #406
One of the country’s most recognizable reality stars—who’s recently found his footing as a sought-after designer—is quietly pulling back from the spotlight, and sources close to him say it's not just for rest.
While netizens speculated that his decision to step back from his family’s long-running reality show was simply a move to focus on his fashion label, industry insiders say the real reason is a lot messier and more painful.
Remember that very public, very envied relationship he had with a chart-topping rapper? The one that had trending Twitter topics, matching designer watches, red carpet moments, and even rumors of shared tattoos? Yeah… that one.
Turns out the romance was as volatile behind the scenes as it was adored in public.
The breakup? Not mutual. Not clean and definitely not private.
Apparently, the designer finally had enough after multiple cheating incidents from the rapper (one of which allegedly involved someone from his own circle). Despite the glossy PR statements about “amicable separation,” those closest to him say he was gutted.
“He stayed loyal while everyone around him was telling him to run,” a close friend revealed. “He didn’t want to believe it. But the last time? Yun na talaga yung last straw.”
Since then, the change has been obvious: no more appearances at the usual celebrity haunts, no more TikTok dances with mega influencers, and definitely no new dating rumors.
His inner circle? It’s now smaller than ever.
“He's not ready to be anyone's anything right now," a stylist friend shared. "No rebound, no secret dates, binubuo niya pa ulit ang sarili niya.”
Who is this heartbroken designer stepping out of the frame?
Let’s just say his runway’s never looked better but behind the seams, he's still stitching himself back together.

lk happy to see na he stopped hanging around those type of people, I felt like he lost his spark for a while :((
tho sad ako na wala na siya as much sa Keeping Up with The Kims nakakatuwa pa rin na he’s focusing on things that matter to him, go get that bag!!

They were at an after party for a major awards night, filled with the typical haze of alcohol breath, LED lighting, and the ever-present hum of influencers roaming around with their rehearsed laughs.
Mingyu felt old. This used to be his playground. Now everything feels monotonous, even with the free-flowing booze, drugs, and bodies.
The only reason Mingyu was even invited here was because he was the designer of the ensembles of several high profile artists in attendance. He wasn’t in the mood to network tonight, but you had to show your face when you were your own brand. Maybe in a few years he could pull a Margiela but right now, he simply wasn’t big enough for that yet.
Oh and one of his family’s publicists (they had three) had informed him that he should make a public appearance before his ex-boyfriend pushes another story about how devastated Mingyu was about their break up and claim credit for Mingyu’s sudden introversion.
Yeah well fuck that. Mingyu thought. I wasn’t devastated, I’m just embarrassed.
You would be too if you somehow ended up in an extremely public 2-year on-and-off relationship with a mumble rapper whose main demographic was teenage boys, and yes Mingyu meant that derogatorily.
By the time his frontal lobe became fully formed, he had already lost a handful of good friends, developed an aversion towards Jordans, veneers, and cargo pants, and questioned his ability to have meaningful relationships—both romantic and platonic.
“Who are you looking at?” Some starlet giggled beside him, leaning in too close and probably high out of his mind.
“Nobody.” Mingyu replied flatly, tearing his eyes away from the very specific vision across the room—Wonwoo Jeon, leaning against a high table, drink in hand, head slightly tilted as he listened intently to whoever was talking to him. He wore a light-colored silk shirt, open at the collar just enough to reveal a silver chain. A gray houndstooth blazer hung perfectly off his shoulders, paired with matching trousers that made him look classically handsome and intimidating.
Mingyu could only swallow down his want.
Maybe if Mingyu saw Wonwoo across the room just a year ago today he would’ve done something like get two champagne flutes from a passing tray and march up towards the upcoming actor with a megawatt smile and bedroom eyes.
But alas, they’ve only crossed paths now.
Wonwoo was not like him. He wasn’t tabloid material. He didn’t post thirst traps or club-hop with the rich kids of showbiz. He had a reputation: prodigious, but restrained. He was a publicist’s wet dream and a Bulgar writer’s Achilles heel.
Mingyu on the other hand? He was a designer-slash-reality-star with a soft spot for chaos and high-profile mistakes.
Don’t get Mingyu wrong, he doesn’t think Wonwoo’s better than him, not even from a moral standpoint—he just thinks that they represent two different types of performances in the entertainment industry.
They may not be worlds apart but Mingyu was sure that they were at least an ocean away from each other.
Mingyu should pick someone else to eye-fuck from across the room. Literally anybody else.
“Were you eyeing the Seungcheol Choi?” The twink continued to question him.
Oh, that was Seungcheol he was talking to? Mingyu grimaced.
Mingyu pasted a formulaic half-amused half-exasperated smile on his face, “I didn’t even know Cheol was here.”
The stranger’s eyes widened exponentially when he noticed that Mingyu used the entertainment mogul’s nickname, “Kilala mo ba si Seungcheol personally? Can you introduce us? He’s so hot-” Mingyu did not bother to hear the end of his ramblings.
Mingyu cut him off with a bland “Sure, why not,” already tuning him out. He wasn’t about to become someone’s golden ticket into Seungcheol’s circle.
“Oh my gosh.” He gasped. “He’s coming this way.”
Mingyu excused himself quickly, not caring whether Seungcheol was actually approaching or not. Better safe than sorry. He didn’t need to get cornered into another one of Cheol’s convoluted pitches for a crossover reality show featuring fashion designers trapped in the jungle or some shit.
Mingyu does not care if people were endlessly curious about him and that his own show was going to be a sure hit.
He already had enough cameras being shoved in his face, thank you very much.
Mingyu didn’t hate the attention. He’d be a hypocrite to say so. He enjoyed the perks—the invitations, the access, and of course, the money. Fame gave him a lifestyle, a platform, and enough clout to funnel money into his passions (and, okay, sometimes his vices).
But Mingyu preferred to have things in moderation now.
It was the reason why he had tapped out of his family’s own show after a very public break up with his then boyfriend. His own mother and sisters had protested, their producers even more so, citing that this was the perfect opportunity to show everybody that he was a catch. They claimed it was the perfect opportunity to “flip the narrative” and show the country—and more importantly, his ex—that Mingyu was still a prize.
Mingyu’s no longer 14 and doe-eyed, the real reason they didn’t want him out now of all time was because:
“It would be great for ratings,” they said. “The public loves a heartbreak arc.”
Again, no thanks. He wasn’t about to sell his pain for prime-time, he’s doing pretty well selling clothes.
By the time Mingyu left the party—having dodged five more invites for the real after party—it was almost midnight. He walked at a slow, unbothered pace toward the near-empty parking lot, looking forward to the quiet of his car.
Then he stopped.
There, crouched beside his car, was someone cooing softly in the dark.
Mingyu was about to ignore him, baka kasi may nasobrahan lang sa champagne, but then he noticed the familiar gray houndstooth pattern on the man’s suit.
Wonwoo Jeon.
Mingyu squinted, what the hell was this man doing?
In the deepest part of Mingyu’s mind he was celebrating because even when he had made up his mind to just avoid getting involved with someone like Wonwoo, fate still decided to give him the bird and metaphorically dumped the man in his lap.
Don’t mind if I do.
“Hi there.” Wonwoo whispered, baby-talking.
He sounded even dorkier than he looked. Perfect.
Mingyu crept closer, curiosity piqued. He peeked over Wonwoo’s shoulder and nearly choked.
A cat.
Specifically, a ginger cat. The same ginger cat he almost crashed his car trying to not run over earlier in his rush to park.
(He’d rather be known to be shit at parking than live with the guilt of feline slaughter.)
“Ito ba yung sinasabi nilang cat distribution system?” Wonwoo whispered excitedly to himself, very childlike and very far from what Mingyu imagined he would sound like.
Why does he sound like he’s been waiting for something like this to happen? And it finally did?
“No, this would be called catnapping.” Mingyu answered from behind him and made his presence known.
Wonwoo’s head turned towards him quickly—realized that he was facing Mingyu’s legs instead of his face—and looked up. “Kilala mo tong pusa na ‘to?” His tone was suspicious.
Mingyu doesn’t know if Wonwoo recognized him, his face doesn’t reveal anything, but then again Wonwoo doesn’t look like he cared whether Mingyu recognized him or not, he was just focused on the cat.
Endearing.
Mingyu nodded confidently, “I’d like my cat back.”
To be completely clear, Mingyu did not own this cat, nor did he know it, but it was something Wonwoo wanted… so naturally Mingyu had to get it for himself.
He planned to play the long game with this one.
“...You’re lying,” Wonwoo stood up in front of the cat in a protective stance and crossed his arms over his chest, “Ano pangalan niya?”
Somehow the scrunch in between Wonwoo’s brows made him look like a cat too.
“His name is … Tooth.” Mingyu said after a beat.
Sue him, he’s been thinking about how that gray houndstooth pattern wrapped around Wonwoo’s thighs perfectly, not baggy but not too tight, and how broad it made his back look.
If Wonwoo didn’t break out as an actor, he’d still definitely make it big as a model. He had the face, the build, and the aura. Mingyu wondered if Wonwoo was up to walking a few runways for his brand. He’d have to file that request sometime else.
In Mingyu’s book, there are only three things that can make an already attractive man even more attractive: a good perfume, a fitting haircut, and well-tailored clothes.
Wonwoo has checked off all the boxes.
“Huli ka.” Wonwoo smirked victoriously, “She’s a she.”
“I was saving you from the embarrassment of not knowing.” Mingyu thought quickly. He grew up in a mostly female household, he had to be quick on his feet or else he wouldn’t stand a chance against his sisters. Spoiler: he still did not stand a chance against them, but he does have an ace up his sleeve in the face of unsuspecting civilians like Wonwoo here.
Wonwoo narrowed his eyes at him. “Kung pusa mo siya bakit siya pakalat-kalat?”
“I told my assistant to look after Tooth while I was socializing,” Sorry Tina, Mingyu mentally apologized, “But she lost Tooth and I came here to check. She’s a smart girl, she recognized her dad’s car.”
“Parang di ka naman nag-aalala.” Wonwoo continued to poke through Mingyu’s improvised backstory.
He’s sharp.
“I was trying to act fine,” Pagdadahilan ni Mingyu, “I’m sure you’d know a thing or two about acting, Wonwoo.”
Wonwoo didn’t look phased by Mingyu recognizing him.
It was Mingyu’s turn to walk past Wonwoo and crouch towards his new cat, Tooth.
“Hi baby, did you miss dad?” Mingyu petted the cat gently and thankfully Tooth cooperated and purred under his touch. Good girl. “Should we go now? Wanna say bye to the catnapper?” He attempted to imitate Wonwoo’s baby talking from earlier.
Wonwoo huffed in disbelief, “Kung catnapper ako wala ka nang iuuwing pusa.”
“Should I thank you?” Mingyu blinked up innocently at Wonwoo.
Wonwoo ignored him completely and crouched again—talking to Tooth like they were old friends, “If you ever change your mind Tooth, let’s meet each other here again.”
“Wow English.” Mingyu pointed out, once again acting like the man beside him speaking English didn’t just give him a semi.
“Eh baka Englishera rin kasi siya at mana sa tatay.” Wonwoo reasoned out.
Mingyu laughed before he could stop himself, “Right.”
“Babye Tooth.” Wonwoo cooed, giving the cat one last affectionate stroke. He stood up slowly and that was Mingyu’s cue to take Tooth into his arms and pray that she didn’t have fleas.
As soon as they get home, off to the cat salon she will go.
Mingyu carried Tooth naturally and Wonwoo gave the daddy-daughter duo a final look over, his face twisted into a begrudging expression. “...Sorry muntik pa kita kunan ng alaga.”
Mingyu couldn’t push down the smile taking over his lips, “Apology accepted.”
“Uhm, una na ako.” Wonwoo nodded at Mingyu one last time, before taking the first step to walk away.
“You could come and see her if you want.” Mingyu called out casually. Wonwoo was not going to get away from him that fast, Mingyu had plans.
Hook.
Wonwoo stopped mid step and looked back towards Mingyu and Tooth. “...Okay lang?”
“I wouldn’t mind.” Mingyu shrugged, “Besides, she likes you and she doesn’t like a lot of people.” He was giving Tooth a personality the poor cat didn’t even know she had.
Line.
“There aren’t a lot of likable people anyway,” Wonwoo said, smiling down at Tooth. “Right, Tooth?”
Tooth being the little actress that she was meowed in response and Mingyu swore that there were hearts in Wonwoo’s eyes at that very moment.
Enjoy your time in the spotlight, sweetheart. Mingyu smiled at Tooth. It’ll be my turn soon enough.
While Wonwoo was distracted, Mingyu shifted his hold on Tooth, just enough to get a single business card from his coat pocket. Inabot niya kay Wonwoo ito. “Call me at least 24 hours before your visit.”
Wonwoo didn’t hesitate to take Mingyu’s card.
“Bawal text?” Wonwoo asked.
“Not from catnappers.” Mingyu said teasingly.
“Expect to hear from me soon then.” Wonwoo finally shot a boyish grin at Mingyu before looking back down at Tooth and damn it, Mingyu wanted more of that.
Sinker.
Blind Item #508
We all know what goes down after the cameras stop rolling and the trophies are handed out but this particular after party pairing has the industry buzzing, mostly because no one saw it coming.
Fresh off an award night, a certain up-and-coming indie darling (think: angular jawlines, cult-favorite acting credits, and an affinity for understated fashion choices) was spotted getting very cozy with a reality star-turned-designer, who’s more used to bottle service and camera flashes than the underground art house film scene.
You'd think these two run in completely different circles and that’s because they are.
Sources say the two were introduced by a mutual friend, exchanged a few polite words… and then didn’t separate the entire night.
“They weren’t all over each other,” one tipster clarifies. “Hindi naman ganoong yung vibe pero it was intimate in a sense. They talked for hours. It looked like the start of something interesting.”
The actor, who's been very selective with interviews and known to be painfully private, didn’t seem to mind the attention, either. In fact, he reportedly left with the designer in the latter’s car.
Since then? Crickets.
The actor’s team denies they’re more than acquaintances. The designer’s reps insist “there was nothing going on”
However, a little cat told us that this was only the beginning.
Also, if the designer’s sudden interest in quiet nights and house pets is anything to go by, this "friendship" might be settling in for the long haul.

Mingyu had been elbow-deep in thread and frustration, trying (and failing) to un-fuck his serger again, when the unmistakable sound of designer boots hitting polished concrete echoed through his studio.
He didn’t need to look up. The cadence was too confident, too smug, and too loud to be anyone else.
“Unless you’ve suddenly learned how to troubleshoot a serger,” Mingyu called out, voice flat and exhausted, “now is really not the time to pitch another influencer protein bar to me.”
The footsteps didn’t pause for even half a second.
It was Jeonghan Yoon, PR shark, menace to Mingyu’s sanity, and unfortunately, one of his favorite people in the world. He strode noisily inside his otherwise peaceful studio, and plopped both hands dramatically on Mingyu’s desk like he was in True Jackson, VP.
A diva as always.
“Nagbembangan ba kayo ni Wonwoo Jeon?” He asked without preamble or finesse as he took off his Miu Miu glasses, folded them, and let it hang from the collar of his shirt.
Mingyu coughed in shock, not at Jeonghan’s flashy demeanor—never at that—but at the unfiltered question.
I wish!
“No?” He croaked out, though it came out as more of a question than a statement, he was caught extremely off guard by the sudden interrogation. Where did that question even come from? Were they papped at the parking lot?
“Parang hindi ka sigurado?” Jeonghan narrowed his eyes and leaned closer to Mingyu to get a better read at him, “Nagkan-”
“Language,” Mingyu promptly threw a wad of soft blue tulle at Jeonghan’s face. “My daughter is in the room.” Pagsaway ni Mingyu sa kaibigan.
(Yes, he has officially claimed Tooth as his daughter, he got her all her vaccines and pampered her—he would get Tooth her own governess if he could.)
He has no idea how Jeonghan ended up as a publicist when half the time Mingyu’s more concerned about Jeonghan’s own reputation because that man could not shut up to save his life. He has no problem being antagonistic and uncouth … especially if it was completely unnecessary.
Jeonghan peeled the fabric off his head, unamused but didn’t make too much of a fuss about it either. “Please. Di naman ako nagme-meow, di naman niya ako maiintindihan.” He jerked his chin toward the ginger tabby curled up on a sewing chair across the room, fast asleep under the studio’s ambient lighting.
“So? Ano na Mingyu? True or false lang, I’m not even making it modified.” Jeonghan insisted like he was doing Mingyu a favor.
“We didn’t do anything,” Mingyu said coolly, eyes still on the stubborn mess of tangled threads in front of him. “We met at the parking lot and talked for, like, five minutes, max.”
“Sure ka?” Jeonghan tilted his head. “Kasi may blind item na kayo.” Jeonghan ran a hand over his chin length hair, a habit of his when he’s itching to spill something.
“That quick?” Mingyu asked in surprise. Jeonghan was quick to hand Mingyu the screenshot on his phone and Mingyu was even quicker to skim through it.
Mutual friend? He hadn’t talked to his so-called friends in months.
Didn’t separate the entire night? They were together for five minutes, and Mingyu was already stretching that.
Went home together? The only conscious being on his passenger seat that night was Tooth.
The blind was painfully inaccurate.
“Wonwoo’s in every centerfold right now, everybody wants a scoop.” Jeonghan stated in a matter-of-fact tone, “Okay lang naman sakin kung nag-” Mingyu gave his publicist a pointed look, “toot kayo pero tangina kasi ni Joshua Hong parang kasalanan ko pang lumabas yung blind item akala niya ata ako nagsusulat non.”
“Wait. Wonwoo’s publicist is Joshua Hong? Your Joshua Hong?” Mingyu raised a brow, eyes finally staying away from his serger for more than five seconds since Jeonghan walked into the room.
“Technically, hindi na siya sakin,” Jeonghan even had the audacity to look bashful, “But between the two of us, let’s keep on referring to him as that.”
Mingyu kept Jeonghan occupied with their favorite topic of choice and kept him away from the recent developments between Wonwoo and himself.
Still, as Jeonghan dramatically launched into a tangent about his rival and ex, Mingyu allowed himself a moment of relief.
Jeonghan was distracted—and that was exactly what Mingyu needed.
Because no way in hell was he about to talk about the truth: about how he and Wonwoo had been calling each other almost non-stop since that night. Wonwoo did not have the time yet to physically visit Tooth again, apparently his shooting schedule barely left him any time to sleep and so they constantly talked on the phone like a bunch of giggly teenagers.
Mingyu hasn’t felt this young in years. Growing up famous, there was this constant feeling of attempting to mature quickly, to be more adult in order to be taken seriously, which overtook most aspects of his life, both personal and professional. Mingyu had always been in a hurry to be older and it wasn’t until he had passed 27 did he feel like he stole his own youth away from himself.
Talking with Wonwoo was fun, relaxing, and Mingyu was addicted—because there was this guy who he could be on the phone with for an hour and not talk about himself, getting into Mingyu’s pants, or the new flashy car they got their hands on. It didn’t matter if Mingyu was in the shower, in the studio, still in bed, or in the middle of jogging, for as long as Wonwoo called, Mingyu answered.
Mingyu also wasn’t ready to talk about how he found himself smiling like an idiot at stupid things like Wonwoo’s poor renditions of his dreams via pen and paper and Wonwoo sending Mingyu every single cat he has seen on their sets.
Or that he’d downloaded Elden Ring just to understand one niche joke Wonwoo had made and then accidentally played it for seven hours straight with Wonwoo slipping into facetime every now and then to ask about his progress.
He also wasn’t going to admit to buying a film camera off Carousell and was currently learning how to use it—just because Wonwoo had said he liked taking film photos and going through the process of getting them developed.
Or that he had made a Letterboxd account and followed Wonwoo there as well (with a painfully curated top four films list) even though he wasn’t really a movie buff, just a Wonwoo Jeon buff.
Yeah, he definitely wasn’t going to share anything with anybody anytime soon.
Mingyu had long learned his lesson of not being too much of a show off when it comes to his romantic pursuits.
Public relationships, flashy dates, PR stunts, and messy breakups—all documented by every tabloid and TikTok vlogger with a ring light—had chewed him up and spat him out more times than he could count. His last relationship had been particularly brutal, there was some sympathy but a lot more people saying I-told-you-so like they personally knew him.
Wonwoo was… different.
Mingyu wanted to keep whatever he had with Wonwoo under wraps for as long as he could because he didn’t want Wonwoo to be just another name under his updated PEP dating history article.
Mingyu wanted to keep Wonwoo to himself just a while longer before other people come in to trample all over them, stamp their own expectations on their relationship, and psychoanalyze their every fucking move.
“-gyu, nakikinig ka ba?” Jeonghan’s voice cut through his spiral, snapping his fingers an inch from Mingyu’s face.
Mingyu blinked rapidly, caught in the act of overthinking.. “Sorry, what?”
Jeonghan raised a perfectly arched brow, lips twitching like he already knew Mingyu was hiding something from him. “What’s the real deal sa inyong dalawa ni Wonwoo?”
Mingyu opened his mouth. Closed it. Tried again. “...Weren’t we talking about your Joshua Hong?”
“Nice try.” Jeonghan scoffed. “Can’t fool me twice, Mingyu. You’ve already used the ‘deflect to my tragic love life’ tactic during this visit. Doesn’t work twice in a row.” He leaned back against Mingyu’s desk, arms crossed, expression annoyingly smug. “I need to know the truth kasi pakiramdam ko mas madaming alam si Shua sakin and that’s simply unacceptable.”
“Nothing happened between us.” Mingyu groaned but hoping and praying Jeonghan backed off because he might just spill the beans.
“Mamatay ka man?” Pinanliitan ni Jeonghan si Mingyu ng mata.
“We just talked!” Mingyu insisted, getting a little louder.
“...Sure ka?” Jeonghan hummed suspiciously, tapping a manicured finger against the desk.
“I’m pretty sure, maybe because I was there?” Mingyu sat up straighter, tone inching toward defensive.
“Okay…” Jeonghan trailed off, still skeptical and far from convinced, “But if anything develops, you have to let me know agad-agad. Promise me.”
“I promise.”
“You don’t sound promising.” Jeonghan stood up and paced toward the wall covered in fashion sketches and pinned swatches, pretending to admire them while still clearly plotting how he’d extract the full story sooner or later.
“I swear on Tooth.” From across the room, the ginger cat lifted her head at the mention of her name, tail flicking once with disinterest before settling back into her nap.
“That’s more like it.” Jeonghan clapped his hands together in satisfaction.
Sorry Tooth.
Mingyu’s not really lying. Nothing happened yet. He hasn’t even made out with the guy! The closest he has ever gotten to him, physically-speaking, was that night and only because he gave Wonwoo his business card.
Blind Item #528
Remember the rising indie darling and the designer-slash-reality-prince from ages ago?
They’ve been caught sharing more than just creative inspiration.
Unfortunately for us it’s nothing scandalous, in fact, what’s been found was sickeningly domestic.
Our sources say a certain critically-acclaimed actor (who’s been earning buzz for his versatile performances and clean public image) has been spending a lot of time in the high-rise condo of a fashion world golden boy with a chaotic love life and even more chaotic family affairs.
The kicker? They’ve allegedly been seen at a vet together—twice—cooing over a ginger cat they both refer to as "tooth."
One witness claims they even argued (playfully?) over whose turn it was to buy cat food.
If true, this would mark the actor’s first foray into tabloid territory and the designer’s most stable “relationship” yet.
From separate worlds, with wildly different career paths, they might just be each other’s purr-fect match.
Who are we talking about?
Let’s just say one of them made his name with silk and scandals, and the other one with monologues and mystery.

Mingyu suddenly felt sick to his stomach when he read the blind item Jeonghan just sent him. He didn’t even have to finish reading it to feel the slow, sinking dread crawl up his spine.
It’s been six months since Wonwoo and Mingyu started seeing each other much more regularly and just earlier this day Mingyu couldn’t help but think that it’s been a quiet few months thanks to their very careful and private date plans AKA staying at home.
With Wonwoo jumping around movie sets and Mingyu preparing for semi-annual fashion weeks among other things, they haven’t really gone out and not because Wonwoo didn’t insist, Mingyu had just been pushing it off, his fear of putting their relationship into the spotlight and getting scrutinized was as present as ever.
They’ve spent most of their time demolishing each other in Mario Kart, parenting Tooth, building lego sets, and attempting to bake.
Mingyu turned off his phone, the screen blackening like the mood that was now rising inside him and pasted a pained smile on his face. “I don’t think we should go out tonight.”
Wonwoo had his back turned to Mingyu, probably looking among his collection of hoodies and deciding which was the perfect one to walk their cat in. “Hindi naman ata uulan,” Wonwoo mused aloud. “Sa tingin ko miss na ni Tooth makipagkapwa-pusa.”
“Jeonghan sent me another blind item about us. Somebody saw us at the vet.” Mingyu bit down on the inside of his cheek.
Wonwoo slowly turned around to catch Mingyu’s eyes. “Okay?”
“We’re practically giving them more fuel if we go out,” Mingyu said, his voice tighter than he wanted it to be. “If we’re seen together again, it’ll blow up.”
Wonwoo looked at him for a long moment, eyes unreadable. Then, with a small snort, he pulled the gray hoodie over his head. “Well… it’s not like the rumors are unfounded,” he muttered. “We are seeing each other.”
“We are but you’re you and I’m me-” Mingyu began but was distracted. Wonwoo didn’t stop walking until he was right in front of Mingyu—and then, instead of sitting beside him on the bed, he sat on the floor in front of him, folding his legs under himself like he had all the time in the world.
“Ayaw mo bang makita kasama ako?” Wonwoo looked up at him seriously. Mingyu’s breath caught.
“What?” Mingyu croaked, suddenly unsteady.
“There’s no wrong answer, I just want to know.“ He even held out his pinky finger like a fucking cute dork that got Mingyu’s heart into shambles.
Mingyu couldn’t bring himself to pinky-swear. Instead, he reached out and curled his whole hand around Wonwoo’s, grounding himself. “Wonwoo…”
“I could book out an entire restaurant for us,” Wonwoo started, his tone light but eyes serious. “O kaya aquarium, gaya ng ginagawa nila sa mga pelikula. We could go fishing too. I can even arrange for us to take different cars tapos mauuna ka ng isang araw, so no one gets suspicious.”
Mingyu’s chest ached.
Wonwoo had clearly been thinking about this for a while. These weren’t spontaneous suggestions, they were plans held back, stored away for when Mingyu would finally stop being afraid.
All this time, Wonwoo never made him feel like a secret.
He had always asked Mingyu to be his plus one to charity galas, movie screenings, even quiet nights with friends. Not once had Wonwoo made him feel like he was hiding him.
But now… it was clear Mingyu had unintentionally made him feel the opposite.
“I’ve never not wanted to be seen with you.” Mingyu successfully interrupted Wonwoo’s overexplaining, “I just don’t want people being all up in our business.”
“Pero … bakit sa iba pwede?” Wonwoo asked with a small head tilt, his eyes curious and unassuming, and Mingyu felt his heart squeeze at how devastatingly kind he still was and Mingyu wanted to cradle Wonwoo’s face in his hands and shed tears because why is he so adorable and understanding and so good to him?
The Wonwoo inside Mingyu’s head said, you deserve it.
“Because you’re different,” Mingyu answered firmly, “because I don’t want to share us—you with other people just yet.”
“I don’t want to share you with other people too.” Wonwoo gave a soft smile. “But I don’t want to hide us either.”
“I know.” Mingyu looked down at their hands, still entangled. He gently rubbed a thumb along Wonwoo’s knuckles, “I’m sorry I made you feel like I didn’t want to have you seen behind me. I’m just scared that being in public would change us.”
“It would change us,” Wonwoo said honestly. “But not in the way you’re afraid of. I can’t control what other people would say about us but I can promise you that I won’t change. When they move on to the next famous couple, I’d still be here with you, buying cat food and refilling cat litter.”
“Such a romantic.” Mingyu said, laughing through a tight throat.
“I need to have range if I want longevity.” Wonwoo winked jokingly.
In the end, they went for a walk anyway. Just the three of them—Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Tooth, who trotted along in his little harness like a spoiled prince.
They got ice cream, even though that wasn’t part of the plan. They still wore their usual masks, glasses, and oversized hoodies, but for the first time in a long time, Mingyu found that he didn’t care if they got recognized.
He was done being terrified of things he had no control over.
Blind Item #717
Things have been oddly quiet from the unlikely award show duo we all couldn’t stop talking about earlier this year—until now.
Whispers from both the fashion and film circles suggest that things may not be so picture-perfect after all between the rising actor and the designer darling. In fact, rumor has it that both have been keeping themselves entertained elsewhere.
Let’s start with the actor, he’s been spotted more frequently with a certain co-star from his latest Netflix project. Yes, the same one fans were rabid about thanks to their electric on-screen chemistry. But the sparks were allegedly seen off-camera too, including a rather telling post-shoot dinner in a low-key resto in Madrid and a late night art gallery visit.
As for the designer? Well, sources say he’s been reconnecting with a familiar face—none other than his ex. The two were allegedly seen having what insiders described as a “serious” and “emotional” conversation at a hotel lounge.
Stay tuned as this love triangle (square?) might just be the messiest one we’ll see in recent showbiz history and we’re far from being mad about it.

I’VE BEEN PRAYING ON THEIR FALLOUT
1 2 3 4 5 > >>
Mingyu had been anxiously waiting for Wonwoo to arrive at his apartment. He almost regretted sending their daughter Tooth away to be with her sitter just for tonight. He didn’t have her to vent to.
It’s been two weeks since they’ve last seen each other because his boyfriend had an overseas schedule. The only conversation they’ve had were 20 minute voice notes they’ve left for each other at odd hours in their messages kasi hindi talaga nagtatagpo ang oras nila. Wonwoo had offered to bring him along for the trip, his voice half-teasing, half-hopeful but Mingyu had to turn it down since the Spring-Summer fashion week was coming up.
All was going well, they were both busy but there’s no tension coming from either of them since they knew exactly what they signed up for and Mingyu liked to think that they were too old to be whining about no “good morning” or “good night messages”. They were adults who were hellbent on making a name for themselves in their respective industries and sometimes their schedules simply don’t line up.
He had been getting plenty of questions from his family and even ex-friends about what the real deal was between him and Wonwoo but he simply shrugged it off to them being good friends. They don’t believe him but Mingyu doesn’t really care, he has already cleared up his concerns with the person who mattered the most.
But of course, peaceful days shouldn’t be taken for granted because a storm was sure to follow.
Mingyu was just waiting for his ride at a hotel lounge after a lunch meeting with a representative from the new production supplier he had been eyeing when a face he’d rather not see ever again took a seat right across from him.
The conversation was short and uninteresting and involved sharp-edged politeness, a lot of eye rolling and scowling from Mingyu’s end. He left before his ride even arrived, choosing to wait curbside under the Manila heat rather than endure another minute of whatever the hell that was.
Seeing that they were in public, countless eyes witnessed the exchange and are now making a big deal about it, hence the blind item Jeonghan sent his way. Hindi na nag-abala si Mingyu magpaliwanag as he was preoccupied making dinner for Wonwoo’s homecoming.
But Wonwoo was late, for almost an hour now and Mingyu didn’t have to be his boyfriend to know that Wonwoo never ran late. Afterall, he was the same guy who would make sure to arrive ten minutes earlier to any function he was invited to.
Mingyu stood by the kitchen counter, brows furrowed, scrolling through their message thread for the twentieth time. The last voice note Wonwoo had sent was short and sweet, “Just landed. Gutom na gutom na ako. See you soon.” That was over an hour ago and nothing else followed.
Jeonghan kept spamming him with questions and he put him on mute for the time being.
Siguro nakita na niya yung blind item. Jeonghan had it. Which meant Joshua had probably sent it to Wonwoo too. The thought made his chest tighten.
He didn’t know how he’d explain it. Rationally, he knew Wonwoo wouldn’t get mad. He wasn’t the type, he was everything Mingyu dreamed about—a soft deep voice and even gentler eyes that overflowed with understanding.
But still, guilt clawed at Mingyu’s insides. He should’ve warned him. He should’ve-
Mingyu sighed. Alam ko naman hindi siya naniniwala sa tsismis, he told himself. He knew how close Wonwoo was with his co-star—the one being linked to him in the same damned article. Hell, that girl had a partner, a serious one, and Wonwoo had made sure Mingyu met them, just to avoid exactly this kind of misunderstanding.
Wonwoo always thought ahead.
Unfortunately, Mingyu was not able to provide his boyfriend with the same preventive measures so now he’s the one anxious.
A soft click echoed from the front door, cutting through the silence like a strike of lightning, followed by the gentle thud of footsteps. Mingyu froze.
Then he heard it: the door shutting with a solid thunk, followed by the sound of luggage sliding to the floor. Wonwoo’s silhouette appeared by the entrance, mask still on, shoulders heavy with travel fatigue.
Mingyu stepped out of the kitchen, heart thudding. He saw Wonwoo glance up at him, squinting through the low lighting before removing his face mask. There was the man he missed—eyes tired, lips cracked, but still managing the softest, most heart-shattering smile.
“Hi, mahal.” Wonwoo’s voice came out a little hoarse, but affectionate and so full of comfort that it made Mingyu feel like he could breathe again.
Just like that, all the unease dissolved. All that mattered was this: Wonwoo was home.
Mingyu didn’t hesitate. He walked forward and enveloped his boyfriend in a tight, grounding hug, one hand curling around the back of Wonwoo’s head as if trying to memorize the shape of him all over again.
He could finally stop pretending that two weeks away from the love of his life did not feel like an eternity.
“Hi, baby,” he whispered against Wonwoo’s hair, pressing a kiss to his temple and Wonwoo hummed, pleased.
He didn’t care about gossip columns or blind items, or what nameless accounts thought they saw.
Let them talk. Let them guess.
Wonwoo was here, warm, and putty in his arms, and that was the only truth he needed.
Blind Item #1123
Looks like things are heating up—in a good way—for this introverted Netflix actor and his equally stylish and now lowkey beau. What started as an alleged “situationship” has seemingly blossomed into something far more solid and family-approved.
Sources close to the actor say he quietly brought his partner to a casual family gathering just a few weeks ago. It was supposedly held at a discreet property just outside the city, the intimate affair reportedly involved a potluck, 80’s music, and a handful of emotional titas who couldn’t stop pinching their cheeks and fawning over the couple.
But here’s the real twist: the designer known for his club-to-catwalk empire has finally returned the gesture.
And yes, his family loved the actor right back.
“Pareho silang kabado noong una,” says one insider. “Madali namang nagkasundo ang parents pati na rin yung mga kapatid nila”
Both families now refer to the other by first names, have a running group chat, and even planned a joint brunch without the couple present.
As for the couple? Still silent, still private, still avoiding unnecessary declarations, but who knows … they might be going public soon.

Surprisingly, Mingyu wasn’t nervous.
That’s not to say he hadn’t agonized over tonight for weeks on end. He had. God, he had. He’d pulled fabric samples at midnight, sketched in the margins of his planner while waiting in airports, agonized over colors and silhouettes and whether they would clash or complement on the red carpet. After all, this wasn’t just any gala.
This was the FAMAS Awards. Wonwoo’s first nomination as a lead actor, and Mingyu? He was finally attending not as a designer, not as a friend, not as a rumor—but as Wonwoo’s date.
Before Mingyu, Wonwoo hadn’t brought any other plus one aside from his mother’s occasional appearance.
So yes, this was a huge deal for them and most probably the media too. The significance wasn’t lost on him. Before Mingyu, Wonwoo had only ever brought his mother to these events. The media would eat this up. In fact, they already had, their love affair can already be considered as an open secret at this point because of months of blurry sightings, a few blind items too specific to be completely untrue, and one scandalous grainy photo of them shopping for cat litter together.
Mingyu was proud to say that they did things in the perfect order. They met each other organically, they got to know each other well and did not fuck on the first date (they hit homerun at the third—very demure and conservative), they have a cat together, then they proceeded to introducing each other to their respective circles (of course their PR agents, Joshua and Jeonghan, got along splendidly), and a month ago Mingyu has brought Wonwoo to a family dinner as his boyfriend.
Now, they were hours away from their first red carpet appearance as a couple.
Mingyu could still remember when Wonwoo found out about his nomination. He cried and Mingyu cried harder because why wouldn’t he? It was going to be a career-defining night for Wonwoo and he’s proud to be able to personally witness his climb to the greatness he’s been chasing after his whole life.
He then proceeded to bury himself in his studio for two days sketching possibilities, muttering to himself about corsets and sharp silhouettes and fabrics that would fit Wonwoo—though he would argue that his boyfriend looked good in everything (and also in nothing at all).
Wonwoo’s invitation for him to become his date didn’t come until the week after that. Mingyu cried again because Wonwoo even got his question written on a plate of chocolate soufflé cake and his boyfriend had looked so nervous after being met with Mingyu’s surprise-induced silence.
Then, between laughter and wiping his cheeks with the back of his hand, he said yes.
Of course he said yes.
He would always say yes.
(As for their reparations for Tooth, who was unfortunately not allowed at the restaurant, she will be enjoying even more salmon, catnip, and a new scratching post.)
Fast forward to the present, they were now in their hotel room and their glam team just left for a smoke break leaving the two of them alone. They’ll come back later for some last minute touch ups before Mingyu and Wonwoo get driven towards the venue.
“Sigurado ka hindi ka nagugutom?” Wonwoo asked his boyfriend, looking at him through the mirror while sitting down. Nakatayo kasi si Mingyu sa harap ng isang floor length na salamin na nirequest pa nila mula sa hotel.
Mingyu momentarily turned around to stare appreciatively at Wonwoo’s get up for the evening.
Wonwoo was yet to put his coat on top but he was wearing a customized white button up shirt which mimicked corset ruching at the bottom half. It emphasized the smallness of Wonwoo’s waist in comparison to his broad shoulders. Mingyu had also forced his boyfriend into foregoing the usual tie and putting on a variety of necklaces, some pearls and metallic chains with some gothic detailing. His hair was tousled into perfection and maintained a slightly wet sheen.
Simply put, he looked scrumptious and Mingyu was proud of his hard work.
“That is the third time you’ve asked me that and the answer is still no.” Mingyu rolled his eyes fondly at his overly concerned lover and returned to stare at his own reflection.
“Magbabaon pa rin ako ng biscuits just in case.” Wonwoo stated not knowing that Mingyu did not sew pockets into his coat but he didn’t say anything so as to not spoil his fun.
Meanwhile, Mingyu was still adjusting the hem of his sleeveless sheer metallic top, layered with threadlike strands of glitter that caught light with every motion. It clung to him like a second skin, catching just enough of his frame to suggest more than it revealed. It wasn’t one of his own designs but it was Tom Ford so it wasn’t like he cut corners for his own look for the evening.
“Don’t you think the exposed nipple is too much?” Mingyu wondered out loud, half-joking but half-worried and still staring at himself.
“Hindi naman.” Wonwoo replied.
Mingyu turned slightly, studying the angle of his clavicle under the delicate fabric. “Am I too glittery? Will that throw people off?”
“You look perfect. You shine even without the glitters.” His boyfriend was quick to respond with assurance.
“You’re obligated to say that. I don’t think I trust you right now.” Mingyu scoffed, lips quirking into a pout.
“I mean it.” Wonwoo chuckled freely.
“Would you wear what I’m wearing?” Mingyu continued to ask useless questions as a distraction to himself because the nervousness was carefully inching back to his system the more he stared at his reflection.
Wonwoo stood, crossing the few feet between them in silence. “No. I don’t have the chest for it.” Mingyu felt him before he saw him, the warmth of his body pressing into his back, arms slipping around his waist, fingertips grazing the exposed skin just above his belt. Wonwoo’s chin found a home at Mingyu’s shoulder, their reflections now merged into one in the mirror.
“You’re going to ruin the foundation on your neck.” Pananaway ni Mingyu sa kasintahan but he didn’t make an effort to shrug him off either.
“They can touch it up later.” Simpleng sagot ni Wonwoo.
They paused for a moment, Mingyu’s glittering frame tucked into Wonwoo’s solid presence. It was easy, comfortable, and meant-to-be. In moments like these he couldn’t wait to pepper kisses all over Tooth’s face in gratitude for leading this man into his life.
So what if some people still couldn’t comprehend how they could work with each other?
Mingyu didn’t need them to understand.
He just needed Wonwoo.
“Do you think somebody would throw an egg at me when they see us at the red carpet together?” Mingyu broke the silence with another ridiculous question.
“As long as they throw an egg at me too.” Wonwoo smiled boyishly at the mirror.
Mingyu turned in Wonwoo’s arms slowly. When they were finally face to face, Mingyu couldn’t help but stare, and not just because he had poured hours into styling Wonwoo but because now that he saw him fully put together, it almost hurt to look at him.
This was all his.
He lifted his hands to Wonwoo’s face, thumbs grazing over his cheekbones “I’m going to ruin your makeup.” Mingyu warned, his voice didn’t have a pinch of hesitation.
“Sounds like fun.” Wonwoo’s hands slid up Mingyu’s sides, finding bare skin beneath the sheer top.
Their glam team was going to need another smoke break after this weren’t they?
