Work Text:
When a god dies it is said that the spirits that are most loyal to them are bestowed with great power. When the great god Pan finally faded from existence due to not enough people believing in the old god of nature a young shy yet loyal faun spirit was bestowed half the god’s power while a young energetic fox spirit from the other side of god’s domain received the other half.
The two spirits who were now destined by the great god Pan to take his place as protectors of nature wouldn’t meet until many decades later on a stormy summer night. Dry lightning crashes down from Olympus, the young fox spirit known by many in the forest as Denki looks up into the sky playing with the storm as the lightning cracks down not too far from him a pair of majestic purple eyes watch him.
The faun spirit stood behind a tree; purple eyes watching the fox as the trickster spirit played with the lightning of the storm like it was absolutely natural to be one with nature. Perhaps this fox was the spirit that Hitoshi’s power was being drawn to. Why else would he feel drawn to the other side of the forest if it wasn’t because of an invisible tugging sensation?
The more anxious the Hitoshi becomes, rain begins to fall from the Olympus to dance with the lightning and Denki turns towards the tree that the faun spirit is hiding behind.
“I’ve waited a long time wondering which storm would bring you home to me.”
The fox spirit had been waiting for him? Why him, he’s just an ordinary faun spirit who for some reason was bestowed powers to mess with the skies when he became anxious so why wait for him?
Two pieces meant to fit together by an invisible force of nature the fox and the faun have woven back together the elements of nature, the forest thrives as the two join hands under rain and lightning.
