Chapter Text
Nankan was always the villain in everyone's eyes, not that they were wrong. But it's not easy to survive. He did what he had to do to survive, to exist. He never wanted to kill people; the only thing he wants is Power. He wants to live. Humans kill animals just for food, so how is he different?
He was always treated differently because of his extreme personality. He saw how everyone treated powerful vampires differently. He just wants to be respected, and He had always been lonely since childhood. He just learned to survive on his own. He doesn't feel any emotions. Nothing is right or wrong in his eyes. He just focuses on his goal. So when he came to know about the existence of Golden blood, he just wanted to find the person Mark wants to hide so badly.
When he first saw Tonkla, He was an ordinary human pathetic in his eyes. The only special thing about him was his blood. But then he found out that Tonkla is not the one he is looking for, so that was it.
He thought that was it, but still, He often found himself looking at Tonkla instead of his actual goal.
He often sees him alone sitting in the library, in the class, and outside of the university too, doing all kinds of jobs. He was everywhere, always alone, always pathetic.
If vampires can feel emotions, Nankan would have thought He had sympathy for the boy. But vampires can't feel any emotions but still Nankan can't get this boy out of his head. He often found himself talking to him and helping him as much as he could, which was opposite to his personality; he was never the one to pay enough attention to anybody else.
But he saw himself in that human boy. The odd one out, always lonely always alone. He didn't want that boy to end up like him, to turn out evil only because he wants attention, only because he wants people to accept him, to see him...to love him.
That would be a lie if He said he wasn't happy when the boy chose to trust him over Mark. It was a very strange feeling. For the first time in his life, someone chose him, it felt......nice. For a second, he really wants to be the good person Tonkla believes him to be.
He wants to protect Tonkla, but who will protect him from Nankan himself? He knows he is a threat to everyone let alone a human.
Now, when he is standing in the dark, seeing Tonkla bleeding out, the life draining from his eyes, knowing he cannot blame anyone but himself. He killed him. He killed Tonkla. The boy who always smiled at him the brightest, who looked at him with adoration like nankan hungs stars in the sky, not knowing he would die by his hands.
He turns away he cannot bring himself to watch. He was dying because of HIM. He froze when he realized his face was wet. Was he crying?? Is he even capable of crying??. He hasn't felt any kind of emotion for a long time.
It only takes a moment, only a second for him to realize that if Tonkla really died today, he will lose his mind. He cannot bear the thought of not seeing him again. Not able to see the only person who ever believed in him so he turned back. Mark was hugging his boyfriend while Tonkla was breathing his last breath in the blink of an eye, he was above him, and without having a second thought, he bared his fangs and bit him.
