Chapter Text

"They have potential!"

"Everyone has potential, Channie. They need to show more than just a bit of talent." Said Park Jin-young, the head of JYP Entertainment, as he wrote some stuff down in his office. Bang Chan sat on the black leather chair opposite of him, fidgeting with two rings on his fingers.

"They will make it far. I know it."

JYP sighed deeply and looked at him. "Channie, I trust you. You have been with this company for seven years now. Even with your... condition, you never gave up. That is something I truly admire about you. You are a fighter through and through. But debuting these boys just because you believe in them-"

"Give them a challenge! Anything! Some dancing, some singing and rapping, they will do it!"

JYP thought for a moment, leaning back in his chair. "You said you have several songs already written?" He asked and Chan nodded immediatley.

"I wrote the songs with Stray Kids in mind."

"Stray Kids?"

"I uh-... that's what I call them. When I help them with their training." Chan mumbled and JYP sighed heavily.

"See if they can do it. Make them sing, rap and come up with a choreography. If they manage to impress me, they will debut."

Chan's eyes lit up immediately and a bright smile formed on his face. "Really?! Thank you so much!"

"Only because it's you, Channie. I know how much time you spend with these boys, how much you want them to fulfill your dream."

"I just-... they can do it. They can do what I can't."

"Prove it to me. You get one week."

-♫⋆。♪-

"Sooo... any idea what's going on?" Han Jisung asked and looked at the other six boys in the small training room.

"No idea." Mumbled Changbin as he sat crosslegged on the ground. Felix and Hyunjin were standing in front of the giant mirror, going through some playful moves, while the others sat on the ground, waiting.

"Chan Hyung ordered us here, correct?" Asked Jeongin.

"Yes." Answered Seungmin. "But the question is why all of us?"

"Maybe there will be more trainees and they just haven't arrived yet?"

"Nope. It's just the seven of you."

"Chan Hyung!"

The seven boys got up and bowed to Bang Chan, who entered the training room. "Sorry, you guys had to wait. As you all know I'm not the fastest." He grinned and the other boys unconsciously looked at the cane in Chans left hand. He leaned heavily on it, to relieve his leg.

"What's going on, Hyung?" Asked Jisung curiously.

"I have good news." Chan grinned from ear to ear. "You guys get the change to debut!"

"What?!"

"For real?!"

The boys all grinned and laughed, but Minho frowned at Chan. "A chance?"

They all turned to looked at Chan again, who nodded. "You guys have one week to prepare a song with a fitting choreo."

"One week?!" Jisung yelled, his eyes going wide open.

"That's... not easy..." Mumbled Jeongin.

"Don't worry, I already have some samples. You guys just have to agree on one track and we can write the lyrics together. Though... with the dancing part I won't be much of a help."

Chan frowned down at his leg, but Minho stepped up. "I'm sure we will manage. You have the songs with you?"

"Yes!" Chan took off his backpack and took out his laptop, which he placed on the ground and the seven boys gathered around him.

It only took about 15 minutes before the boys decided on the track 'Hellevator' and they started to decide who would sing and rap which part. After discussing the lyrics and some first moves, they called it a day and went to their separate dorms, Bang Chan went to his, the old one he had once shared with the GOT7 and Day 6 members.

As he closed the door behind him, he was met with silence.

No one else was there. It had been empty for years now. Just him... He missed the others, especially BamBam. It used to be so lively in here, back when he still had a future as an idol planned.

Chan sighed and limped to the kitchen, preparing some instant noodles, before making his way to the living room, which he had changed into some sort of studio. With a big desk with screens and space for his laptop. An electric keyboard, a ukulele and headphones. He placed his cane to the side and started to do what he could do best. Make music as CB97.

Ever since the accident, he knew he would not be able to become an idol. He feared that JYP would kick him out, but the man must have felt sorry for him. That and the fact that he was able to make some really good tracks. He was still learning, but he already has a SoundCloud under his name CB97 and he is posting several songs per month on there. JYP showed great interest in his talent as a music producer and had offered him to stay with JYPE to create music, despite his condition.

At first Bang Chan had hesitated. After spending weeks in the hospital, his parents wanted him to return to Australia, to start a new life. But he couldn't give up. He couldn't just abandon his music. As he laid in the hospital bed, after tons of visits from his JYP Nation friends, he started to make more and more tracks, learning as much as he could.

But then, when he returned to the dorm, the other trainees who lived there had moved out. GOT7 got to debut, just like Day 6. They made it and Chan was still recovering. Never able to heal completely...

He was devastated, until he met Jisung, Jeongin, Changbin and the others. He saw the talent of each of them and the way they got along pretty well. Bang Chan saw a chance there. Not for himself, but for the group he wished he could be part of.

"Ah... what to do..." Chan mumbled to himself, as he looked at his laptop, not sure where to start. The kids were amazing and eager to debut. They liked the song and the first ideas that came with it. If they manage to impress JYP next week, then they could make it to the big stage. "I better write some songs for them for the future." Chan smiled to himself and went to work, as the night darkened everything around him.

-♫⋆。♪-

The next week the seven boys worked together with Chan on the song and the overall performance. They came up with a choreography and Chan gave them some tips about how to captivate the audience. He showed them where to look and how to present themselves on stage. He also helped them with the singing and rapping parts, going over the lyrics and helping with the pronunciations of the English words as well as hitting the right notes while the boys were dancing.

Everything went relatively smoothly, but Chan was still worried. He knew how harsh JYP could be. Of course it was only for the better, but the boys needed an ace up their sleeve if they wanted to really impress him.

And the day of the performance came quickly. JYP sat in the dancing studio, Chan right next to him and the seven boys performed Hellevator.

"So..." JYP started and the boys looked at him nervously and out of breath. "Despite how high the notes go, you boys managed to hit them really well." Chan smiled with pride at the boys. They did an amazing job in performing.

"But I am not sure if it's enough." Said JYP skeptically and the boys looked down in shame. "Hellevator is a good song. I know that Chan has many more on his laptop and for an album or two that could work. But later you boys need to create more things. With different styles and genres. And I don't know how well you boys would perform then..."

"They can perform something else!" Chan said quickly. He was prepared for this kind of thing and told the boys to practice other songs as well, of course with Chan's help.

"Something else?" JYP asked and raised an eyebrow.

Chan looked at them, specifically Minho and the leader nodded.

"We have prepared multiple performances with different styles of course." Minho said, trying to sound confident in front of their boss.

"Why?" Asked JYP curiously. "One song would have been enough."

"If- when we debut, we have to be able to perform at least a few songs in a row. We want to hold concerts in the future, concerts that last long and have different types of genres as well." Minho explained.

"We love making music and we will never stop to make new songs and come up with new choreos." Added Changbin and the other boys nodded along.

"Alright, show me two more performances." JYP said and leaned back in his chair again and Chan tapped on his laptop to play the new song and the boys got into position.

After finishing both performances, one being more of a slow ballad, while the other was a heavier rap song, the boys were now really breathing heavily, waiting for JYPs judgement.

"Well, you boys know how to entertain." JYP said and went over his notes. "What was the name of your group?"

"We are, Stray Kids." The seven boys said together and bowed their heads slightly.

"Stray Kids..." JYP mumbled to himself. "It won't be easy. The difficult part begins now."

"You mean...?" Chan asked and JYP nodded.

"They can debut."

"Yes!" The boys all cheered and hugged each other, not believing that would actually debut together.

JYP smiled at them, before he looked over to Chan. "A word please." Chan got up and followed JYP out the door. "They are truly talented, but they need someone to guide them. I want you to be that someone."

"Me?" Chan asked surprised.

"Yes, you, Channie."

"What does that mean?"

"Well, first of all your music style fits well with them. I know that Changbin and Han are talented, but you should help them with the songs. But not just that, you should help Minho leading the group."

"But I'm not a member..."

"No and sadly you will never be. But with your help they can make it far. You can live together with them in the dorm." JYP said and at that Chan's eyes grew really wide.

"Really?"

"Yes. You prepared them well." JYP grinned. "I knew it was your idea to give them more songs instead of just that one." He said and Chan scratched the back of his head.

"I know you and what impresses you. They worked really hard though and they are super passionate about music. I only gave them a push in the right direction. They did everything themselves."

JYP nodded. "I will get a team to work with them, I already have a manager in mind. He will call either you or Minho tomorrow so we can start with the official debut. I'm looking forward to Stray Kids' future. Good luck."

"Thank you sir." Chan grinned and then went back inside to celebrate with the boys.

-♫⋆。♪-

Later that day the boys found themselves with packed bags in Chan's dorm, impressed by the size of it.

"Woah, you have all this space?!" Jisung asked and looked around.

"It's huge!" Hyunjin added.

"Well, now it's your home too. So make yourselves comfortable." Chan grinned. "There are three rooms. Two with three beds and one with two beds."

"Where do you want to sleep?" Asked Minho and looked at the oldest.

"Me?" Asked Chan confused.

"Yeah, this is your place. You should choose." Added Changbin.

"It's yours now as well, so just go wherever you want. I uh- I just need the bottom of a bunk bed. Not the top." Chan grinned and the others smiled at him.

"Of course, Hyung. And thank you." Said Minho.

"Huh?"

"We only made it thanks to you." He clarified, but Chan shook his head while his ears turned red.

"Nah, you would have made it without me."

"I doubt that..." Muttered Seungmin.

"Yeah, you being good with JYP helped." Said Jeongin with a smile.

"It's not like that..." Chan pouted. "I just know how he thinks."

"Btw," started Jisung, "how long have been with the company?"

"Oh uhm... puh, like ... seven years now." Chan muttered, his voice a bit sad now.

"Seven years?!" The other seven boys exclaimed in shock.

"Y- yeah... time really flies." Chan chuckled, scratching behind his ear.

"Wow. That's so cool!" Smiled Felix, but Chan shook his head.

"Not really ..."

"I saw you with the members of GOT7 before, you are friends with them, right?" Asked Seungmin and Chan nodded.

"Yes, I trained with them together. They are all great."

"Do you know other artists?" Minho wanted to know.

"Oh yeah, like Day 6 and Twice, 2PM..."

"Really?" Felix and Hyunjin yelled together. "You have to introduce us to them." Demanded Hyunjin and Chan laughed.

"Sure!"

"Chan Hyung?" Jeongin started and Chan turned ot the youngest.

"Hm?"

"How... how did you hurt your leg?"

"Ah..."

"Oi, Innie, don't just ask that!" Changbin hissed and the boys all started to look a bit nervous now.

"No no no, it's fine. You guys should know if we work together anyway." Chan smiled, but then he let out a sad sigh. "It was a car accident."

"A car accident?" Felix asked in shock and Chan nodded.

"Yes. I was out with the members of Got7. They hadn't debuted yet, it was all still unclear who would be in which group. We were at a place to eat some food after a long training session. Mark Hyung invited us. After that we took two different cars to head back to the company."

"Wait, I heard about that." Said Seungmin. "Several trainees were in a car accident and ended up in the hospital."

Chan nodded. "Yeah... Bambam, Mark, Jackson and I were in the car. We got hit by a drunk driver who drove over a red light at full speed."

"Damn it..." Muttered Minho and the boys looked at Chan with pitty.

"Mark, Bambam and Jackson thankfully only had minor injuries, but I wasn't so lucky. The car had slammed completely into the left side of the car, right where I was sitting. The metal pushed into my left side and- and fucked up my leg..." Chan said and looked down at his leg which was slightly crooked at the knee.

"I'm so sorry, Hyung." Muttered Jeongin quietly.

"The others got released from the hospital after a day, but I stayed there for two months. After I woke up, I thought my career was over. But thankfully JYP gave me another chance not as an idol, but as a producer. I worked on several songs and helped other trainees whenever I could."

"Like us." Smiled Jisung and Chan smiled back.

"Yeah. My parents came after a few days and wanted to take me back to Australia to take care of me, but I refused. I guess I didn't really want to believe it. I didn't want to give up on my dream to work on music."

"Damn you're more stubborn than I thought." Grinned Felix and Chan grinned back.

"I started to write songs on my laptop while I was recovering in the hospital and learned how to walk again. I... I send my songs to JYP and he immediately offered me to take some courses to learn more about music production. And well, here we are."

"That couldn't have been easy for you, Hyung." Said Minho and Chan shrugged.

"I am glad I'm alive. It wasn't a walk in the park, but now things are looking better. I'm not alone in here anymore." Chan smiled as he gestured around the room.

"How long have you been living alone here?" Asked Changbin curiously.

"Since Got7 debuted."

"That was like four years ago!" Jisung exclaimed.

"Yeah..."

"Damn..." Mumbled Hyunjin, biting his lower lip.

"At least I was able to work on songs." Chan smiled again.

"You have to show us." Said Seungmin.

"Huh?"

"Your songs! Come on!" Said Jisung and the boys ran over to the sofa to make themselves comfortable.

"I do have a few in mind for an album." Chan muttered and he grabbed his laptop and limped over to the boys and sat down on the sofa with them.

"This is so exciting. I can not believe we will preform for our fans soon!" The boys all grinned and chatted and went over possible songs to prepare and Chan realized that thanks to those seven boys, his dream came to life.

One year later

-♫⋆。♪-

After a year, the boys had released several mini albums and even had their first win with Miroh. They started to become more and more popular and more confident on stage. They released one track after another and Changbin and Jisung together with Chan, managed to find their style. A style that truly fit with "Stray Kids".

Chan functioned as a second manager to the seven boys. He helped to organize their schedule and he worked with them on their songs. He was even there during practice and gave them tips and ideas for new moves.

The fans, Stays, started to notice Chan more and more and one afternoon the boys were chilling at home before an upcoming show and Felix and Hyunjin ran to Chan with excitement.

"What's going on?" Chan asked confused.

"Hyung! You have a fan site!"

"A fan site?" Chan asked with wide eyes. "Why...?"

"They love you, Hyung!" Felix grinned. "Here! They noticed you at the airport with our staff members and they realized that it's you who writes most of our songs as CB97!"

"Changbin and Jisung write most of the songs." Chan muttered as his ears became more and more red.

"Not without you!" Hyunjin exclaimed. "Stays love you!"

"That's nice." Chan grinned as he looked at the fan site. There were many lovely comments, where fans complimented his music and even his outfits. Though some of the comments made Chan nervous.

'He should stop pretending to be an idol.'

'He can not even walk properly.'

'He is slowing the boys down.'

'It's unfair that someone like him is so close to them.'

'He pretends to be their best friend, but he is probably just annoying them.'

Chan swallowed and stopped reading. "I uh... I have to go." Chan said, grabbed his cane and got up.

"Hyung?" Hyunjin asked confused.

"I forgot something in the studio." Chan lied without looking at them.

"Well, we have to go soon, remember? We have to shoot the show."

"Oh, right... good luck with that. I'm sure you'll give it your best." Chan said and quickly left, faintly hearing Felix's yell.

"See you tomorrow." And then Chan was gone. He limped through the corridors of JYP Entertainment, trying to get his mind off of things, when he ran into one of the dance teachers.

"Ah, Channie. How are you?"

"Hello hyung, I'm good."

"Do you have time?"

"Time? For what?" Chan asked confused. He had nothing planned for the rest of the day except to go over some lyrics later for the upcoming comeback.

"I have an emergency at home and I am looking for a replacement. There are some trainees who need someone to judge their dancing skills."

"I don't know..." Chan hesitated. "I'm not the best example when it comes to dancing."

The teacher smiled. "You don't have to dance yourself, don't worry. They had to prepare a choreography and simply need someone to watch them. I heard you have done it with Stray Kids as well. Just give them some tips if you see that they lack certain movement. Again, they are just trainees. They don't have to be perfect yet."

"Sure, I can do it." Chan shrugged and smiled. It was the perfect thing to distract his mind a bit.

"Great. Room 104B."

"I'll go there."

"Thanks, Channie! See you later." Chan sighed with a smile and headed over to the dance room. There were six boys, all around eighteen years old.

"Hello, my name is Bang Chan. Your trainer had an emergency, so in his stead I will look at your performance." Chan said with a smile as the boys looked at him with judging eyes.

"You?" A boy asked skeptically, as he looked at Chan's cane.

"I was a trainee for many years and I helped others like Stay Kids. Don't worry, I won't be as harsh as the teachers" Chan said, trying to lighten the mood. "You can show me the dance and maybe I have some tips for you guys."

"Tsk..." The trainees looked unhappy as they started to dance and Chan watched them closely.

After half an hour and a few tips, Chan realized that especially one move was a bit difficult for them, so he had started to explain it to them, but the trainees didn't like that one bit.

"...see. You just have to-"

"Oh shut up you cripple." One trainee said and the others laughed and Chan looked down at the floor.

"I-"

"You think you know better? You never even debuted!"

"Yeah, the fact that you are still here is disgraceful."

"JYP should get rid of you." The boys went on and on and Chan sighed, limping over to his cane.

"I think that's it for today." Chan mumbled.

"Oh we think so too!" One boys grinned and ran to grab the cane before Chan could reach it.

"Hey! I need my cane!"

"This broken thing?" The boy asked with a grin and Chan frowned.

"It's not broken."

"Ah yeah?" The boy bend the cane over his knee and snapped it in half.

"No!" Chan yelled, but the boys simply laughed at him and left the practice room.

"Goodbye, teacher!"

"Don't fall! Ahahaha!"

Chan blinked away tears as he stared down at his broken cane. He bend down to pick up the two pieces and then sighed as he stared at the clock. It was already 8 p.m, so most already left the company.

"Great..." Chan mumbled and started to limp away and out of the practice room.

It was difficult though. He had to put a lot of pressure on his leg and it started to hurt more and more. At some point he made it through several hallways, when his leg suddenly gave out and he fell to the floor, leaning against the white wall behind him.

"Chris?" Chan's head snapped up as he looked to the side.

"Brian...?"

"Oh my, what are you doing here?!" Brian, aka Young K quickly ran over to the younger, kneeling down next to him. "Are you okay?! You look hurt!"

"I... my leg..." Chan hissed through the pain.

"Did you walk on it? Where is your cane?!"

"It's broken." Chan said and showed him the two broken pieces.

"How?"

"...doesn't matter." Chan whispered, looking away.

"Channie... tell me what happened." Brian said with a serious tone, but Chan kept quiet and the older let out a sigh. "Here, let me help you."

"You don't have to-"

"You are hurt Channie. Let me help."

"What are you even doing here?" Chan asked as Brian helped him up and Chan leaned heavily on him as Brian held tightly onto him.

"I forgot my phone..." Brian mumbled embarrassed and Chan chuckled.

"Aish... you will never change, will you?"

"Oi brat, show some respect towards your hyung." Brian laughed, but then he turned serious again. "Who broke your cane, Channie?" He asked as they slowly made their way down the hallway.

"Doesn't matter."

"Yes it does!"

"I'm fine!" Chan snapped.

"You're not fine, Channie. And that's alright-"

"No it's not! I'll never be fine again because of this!" Chan yelled with tears in his eyes. "I will never be happy and achieve my dreams because of my stupid leg! I-..." Chan let a tear fall and his lip started to quiver.

"Oh Channie..." Brian whispered and Chan shook his head.

"Sorry, I-... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I..."

"Young-hyung? Channie?" That was Sana, who rounded the corner and looked at them with surprised eyes.

"Sana... hey " Chan mumbled, trying to smile.

"He needs a hospital." Brian told her.

"My room is perfectly fine." Chan said and Sana rushed over to them.

"What happened?!"

"Someone broke his cane."

"What?!"

"It's fine. I'm-"

"Not again, Channie. You don't deserve this treatment." Brian said and Sana agreed.

"If I find out who it was..." She growled.

"Calm down, both of you. Just- just help me get to a taxi and I'll be fine."

"Where are your friends? Stray Kids?" Asked Sana.

"They had a show to film. They will be back tomorrow."

"We will let them know-"

"Don't. They need to focus on their music. They worry enough about me as it is."

"They are your friends." Pointed Sana out.

"And I am grateful for them. But... I'll tell them later. I want them to rest first."

"Fine."

"Do you need painkillers?" Asked Brian.

"I still have some at home. I'll be fine once I get there."

"We'll get you home then." Said Sana.

"You don't have to-" But the looks both Sana and Brian gave Chan made him give in he let them help him get home safely.

Once he entered the dorm, he thanked the other two several times and after he reassured them that he would be fine, they finally went home. He put the broken pieces of his cane on the desk, next to his laptop and then he fell onto his bed, burying himself under the covers. And then he finally let the tears fall...

The next day the seven boys of Stray Kids were walking through the corridors of the JYP building, after they finished some training for their upcoming comeback.

"Hey, kids."

"Hello Hyungs!" The boys greeted and bowed to their seniors, Day 6. The six young men were heading in the opposite direction.

"How are you kids doing?" Asked Jae with a smile.

"Good. Everything is working well." Answered Changbin.

"Yeah, we can't complain." Added Hyunjin with a grin.

"That's good to hear. You boys are amazing." Smiled Sungjin.

"Thanks hyung." The boys bowed again but then Brian stepped forward.

"Did you talk to Channie?" He asked with worry and the boy looked a bit surprised.

"Not really... he was in his room all day and didn't want to come out. He said he wasn't feeling so good." Explained Minho and Brian let out a frustrated sigh.

"That stupid boy..."

"Is- is something wrong?" Asked Jisung and the Day 6 members looked sorrowful.

"Sadly yes." Brian sighed.

"What happened?" Asked Minho as he started to get more and more worried.

"Well... we don't know what happened because he would not tell us, but his cane is broken. Sana and I found him yesterday in the hallway, limping heavily and leaning against the wall for support." Explained Brian.

"What...? Channie..." The seven boys looked up in shock and with sadness.

"He wanted to tell you, but you know how he is." Said Brian with a sigh.

"He probably doesn't want to bother us." Mumbled Seungmin.

"Exactly. But I doubt it just broke on its own. And Channie doesn't get angry enough to break it himself. He is too smart for that. I hoped you knew what happened."

"No. We were gone all night to film yesterday and only got home this morning." Minho explained.

"Wait... we texted when we were in the car, on the way to the shooting." Jeongin reminded the others.

"Right!" Said Jisung. "He said he just had to help some trainees because a teacher had to leave, but that's it. Otherwise he wanted to work on new songs."

"Trainees?" Asked Jae.

"Yeah- you don't think they did it?" Asked Jeongin carefully.

"Would explain why he is not saying anything." Said Brian a bit annoyed. "Chan would never ruin the chance for others to debut."

"Damn it... " Minho gritted his teeth.

"Wait, aren't there cameras in the training rooms?" Asked Dowoon.

"Yes, you're right! Come on!" Day 6 and Stray Kids ran down the corridor to the security office and talked to the guard there, asking them to have a look at the footage from yesterday. They knew roughly the time when it must have happened, but it took them a while to find the right room, until they finally spotted Chan talking to some trainees and then they watched in horror as the trainees broke Chan's cane and he had to limp out of the practice room.

"They fucking broke it!" Changbin yelled in anger. "Those bastards!"

"JYP has to know. Now!" Growled Minho.

"Poor Channie..." Mumbled Felix as they watched Chan taking deep breaths as he limped away.

"We will let JYP know." Said Brian and the rest of his memebers nodded. "You kids should go to Channie. Make sure he is alright. He really was in pain yesterday."

"Thank you hyungs!" Minho said and the boys once more bowed, before they ran out and towards their dorm while Day 6 made their way to JYP himself.

As the boys ran down the street, Minho suddenly stopped. "Wait a second."

"What is it?" Asked Hyunjin confused.

"I have an idea!" Minho said and pointed at a store in the back.

"What is that?" Asked Felix.

"Food?" Asked Changbin.

"No." Minho rolled his eyes. "That's the store where Chan got his old cane from."

"For real?" Asked Jisung.

"Yeah, I once walked with him past the store and he said he got it from there like four years ago or something." Minho explained.

"Channie hyung will be happy to have a new one." Agreed Jisung with a smile.

"You two get a new cane." Said Hyunjin. "The rest of us can go and get some food."

"Oh we can make a movie night! That will cheer him up!" Offered Felix and the boys immediately agreed.

"Yes! Star Wars marathon!" The boys grinned and Minho nodded.

"Alright. We have the rest of the day off, so let's do our best to cheer him up."

The boys went to work and half an hour later they were all in the living room. The new cane was wrapped in gift paper and they had prepared a blanket and pillow nest on the floor in front of the couch, with some cooked food and several snacks.

"Perfect!" Said Felix with a satisfied grin.

"Now only Channie hyung is missing!" Jisung yelled. "Channie!"

There was silence and Minho walked up to Chan's and his shared room. "Hyung. We have food for you."

"I don't want to-" Came the muffled reply after a moment.

"Please... we cooked just for you." Said Jeongin innocently and they knew Chan couldn't resist him.

"Alright alright." Chan said in a tired voice. "Give me a moment." It took a few minutes but then the door opened and Chan came outside. He wore a black hoodie with black sweat pants and his curly hair was ruffled and unkempt. He slowly limped over to the boys, trying to smile.

"How was the training?" He asked.

"Good, good. Are you okay?" Hyunjin asked with worry as they all watched Chan wincing every time he put pressure on his bad leg and Changbin was about to go and help him, but Chan shook his head.

"I'm fine guys. I just uh... I forgot my cane so..." He mumbled as he was making his way over to the kitchen, but Felix pointed at the living room.

"Let's eat there." Confused, Chan let himself be guided to the sofa, where he could see several pillows and blankets on the ground.

"What's going on?"

"We planned a movie night!" Grinned Jisung excited.

"A movie night?"

"Here, we made some food and we will watch Star Wars." Said Seungmin.

"Uhm- I-"

"Here." Minho quickly said and shoved the wrapped gift into Chan's lap and the older boy looked down at it confused.

"What...?" Chan asked in shock, already recognizing the shape and he unwrapped the paper, revealing a black cane with a silver engraved wolf on top as the handle.

"You need a new cane, Chan." Minho simply said.

"How did you kno- those idiots..." Chan groaned and leaned back as the other boys stood and sat around him.

"You should have told us." Said Changbin slightly annoyed as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"You guys have your comeback to worry about."

"Our comeback. You worked on it as well." Reminded Felix him but Chan shook his head.

"I-"

"Those trainees won't hurt you again." Interrupted Jeongin and Chan looked up at the boys.

"You know?"

"We ran into Day 6 and we checked out the cameras. Brian and the others are telling JYP right now to get them thrown out."

"Oh..." Chan mumbled. "They are talented. They should-"

"Fuck that." Said Minho with a slight growl. "Being a good human means more than talent!"

"They treated you wrong. They deserve to get kicked out." Added Seungmin.

"If JYP sees a chance in them then he will-"

"You are his favorite, Channie hyung." Grinned Jisung. "If they hurt you, then they are out."

"I'm not his favorite..." Chan pouted slightly.

"Yes you are! You created us. You write amazing songs. You don't cause trouble. You get along with everyone and you are just a great, honest, polite and hard working person. And JYP sees that." Said Hyunjin.

"... I'm nothing special."

"To us you are." Minho told him and Chan scratched behind his blushing, red ear again.

"Thanks guys. Truly. I really appreciate it." Chan said, running his hand along the fine crafted wolf on top of the cane. "How did you even get it this fast?"

"I saw the store we passed by once, remember?"

"You remembered that?" Chan asked surprised and Minho's own ears turned red.

"Well... of course. Anyway, Hannie and I looked at a few and this one had the wolf that looked really cool, so... yeah..."

"Thank you. All of you." Chan smiled up at them.

"Can we watch Star Wars now? I'm hungry!" Asked Jisung and the boys all agreed with bright smiles.

"Yes!" And so a big cuddle pile was formed as the boys enjoyed the rest of their day together.
