Work Text:
Aoi was on the school rooftop with Miyuki, eating lunch together as always. They had just started dating but things were still the same.
Miyuki made Aoi lunch, lecturing about how important it was to eat nutritious meals. Aoi ate Miyuki’s cooked lunches and praised them. They were as yummy and energizing as one thousand Yabaley’s tomato juice cans, even if Miyuki didn’t find the comparison flattering.
So Aoi thought it would be another normal day. That was, until they finished their lunches and Miyuki grabbed Aoi’s face and kissed her.
Miyuki had always been shy about displays of affection. They hadn’t even held hands that much yet, let alone kiss. Aoi wasn’t sure what brought this on.
She thought back to their conversation. Oh. Was it because Aoi mentioned that she was going to visit Haru at the convenience store later? Was Miyuki jealous?
“Hey.” Miyuki stared at Aoi. “Pay attention to me right now.” Yeah, Miyuki was definitely jealous.
Aoi didn’t mind the kiss though. It was just that… it seems that Aoi had finally discovered one of Miyuki’s weaknesses. Aoi thought Miyuki was perfect. She was good at tests, athletic, kind to everyone. But it was apparent that Miyuki was not good at kissing. Actually she was bad. Really, really bad.
Miyuki was smashing lips with Aoi and Aoi could feel their teeth clink against each other every so often. Aoi had opened her mouth so Miyuki was putting her tongue in. Miyuki wasn’t even breathing through her nose so there were breaks where she had to pull apart from Aoi to breathe, then went back to kissing.
But Aoi couldn’t really hate the kiss because Miyuki was trying really hard. It bordered on desperate. Aoi cradled the back of Miyuki’s head and kissed her just as sincerely.
Once they both pulled apart, their lips sore from kissing, Miyuki stared at Aoi tentatively. “...So how was it?”
Aoi was not a liar. “It was bad.” Aoi held back on elaborating after seeing Miyuki’s downcast expression. She held Miyuki’s face in her hands. “It’s ok. Aoi still liked it because Miyuki tried her best.”
Miyuki laughed, relaxing her shoulders. “I’m glad you liked it…I’ll try to do better though.”
Aoi nodded. “Aoi will teach you. You have to practice a lot.”
Miyuki held Aoi’s hands. “Well, I definitely don’t mind that.” The rest of their lunch break was peaceful.
