The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over Neo Wish Summer Camp, its warm light filtering through the towering pines and painting the sprawling fields in hues of amber. The camp’s entrance is marked by a towering archway shaped like a futuristic city skyline, glowing with neo pearl champagne green LED lights that flicker in sync. The air was thick with the scent of pine needles and lake water. The grassy fields where high schoolers buzzed with energy. The air was alive with the sounds of laughter, The rhythmic thwack of badminton rackets. The clatter of volleyball games, and the distant splash of kids diving into the shimmering lake. It was the final day of family visitation, and the camp thrummed with excitement,
At the heart of this chaotic summer symphony stand the Jeong kiddos; Sion, Riku, and Yushi posted up near the central pavilion like they’re auditioning for a K-Pop boy group. Their eyes trained on the gravel parking lot. They were waiting for their parents. They’re glued to the gravel parking lot, eyes scanning for the telltale black SUV that signals the arrival of their parents, Jeong Jaehyun and Kim Doyoung. Now, let me tell you, when Jaehyun and Doyoung roll up, it’s not just a visit, it’s always a spectacle. These two are the human equivalent of a rom-com montage, both for their undeniable star power, thanks to their unabashed, their shameless lovey-dovey behavior that never failed to make their sons squirm. Their sons, though? They’re equal parts proud and mortified, because their parents’ lovey-dovey antics are the kind of thing that could make a TikTok go viral for all the wrong reasons.
First, there’s Sion, the eldest, leaning against a weathered wooden post like he’s modeling for the camp brochure. His tall, athletic frame relaxed but alert, exuding the same effortless charisma. With his sharp cheekbones, warm brown eyes that crinkled with a dimpled smile could disarm anyone, like the spitting image of his Appa, Jeong Jaehyun. His dyed blonde hair that fell just right, he was truly Jaehyun’s carbon copy in every way; appearance, personality, mannerism, confidence, even the way he tilted his head when he teased. His camp t-shirt was slightly rumpled and his dyed blonde hair mussed from an earlier basketball match, he wore it with the same easy charm that made him a favorite among campers and counselors alike. He carried himself with the same quiet confidence as always.
“They’re late again,” he said, his voice a low, smooth echo of Jaehyun’s, laced with mock exasperation. “Papa probably dragged Appa to that artisanal coffee shop for his iced caramel latte obsession.”
Then there’s Riku, one half of the Jeong family twins, snorted from where he stood, arms crossed, his cool, edgy aura practically a force field. He shared Doyoung’s delicate features like; His nose, in particular, resembles Doyoung’s the most — his profile view is very similar. His almond-shaped eyes were pure Doyoung's, with slightly raised outer corners, giving him a 'gentle but alert' look, soft but intense. His irises are large, adding to a soulful gaze. His Papa’s model-worthy features etched into his face. His dark hair was swept back, a single silver earring catching the sunlight, and his camp shorts were styled with a deliberate nonchalance that screamed effortless cool.
“Or Appa got distracted staring at Papa’s face in the rearview mirror,” Riku said, his tone dry but his lips twitching with a smirk. “You know how they get when they think no one’s watching, they can’t go without being all over each other.” smirking like he’s about to expose a government conspiracy, His cool-guy aura is so unshakable it’s practically a superpower.
And then there’s Yushi, Riku’s twin brother and polar opposite. He's a human equivalent of a shaken soda can ready to explode with mischief. His soft mischievous energy practically radiating bubbling over. Sprawled on the grass like he’s claiming it as his personal kingdom. He shared Doyoung’s delicate features like; His elegant, clear eyes with long lashes, the outer corners tilt subtly upward, enhancing that sly, deer-like charm. His lips curve naturally into a soft smile, like Doyoung’s, and his Cupid’s bow is also quite pronounced. He has a clean V-line and a chin that curves naturally under his lips, just like Doyoung’s but his tousled hair and playful grin gave him an impish charm that was all his own.
Both Riku and Yushi have tall, slim nose bridges that echo Doyoung's structure. They both have elegant, clean-cut double eyelids, large pupils, and a naturally sharp eye corner angle that creates a calm, smart visual impression.
“Bet they’re making out in the car right now,” Yushi said, waggling his eyebrows as he tossed a pinecone into the air. “Sion hyung, you’re gonna have to go pry them apart or drag them over here before they embarrass us and scandalize the whole camp.”
Sion groaned, dragging a hand through his hair in a gesture so like Jaehyun’s it was almost eerie. “No way I’m walking into that again. Last time I caught them being all lovey-dovey in the kitchen, Papa was on the counter, and Appa was—ugh, never mind, I had to bleach my eyeballs.” he said, his cheeks flushing tinged pink at the memory of catching his parents in a particularly steamy mushy moment.
“I’m still traumatized from seeing Papa with that...” Riku cut himself off, shuddering dramatically, though his eyes sparkled with fondness. Despite their complaints, the kiddos adored their parents’ unapologetic love, even if it came with a side of secondhand embarrassment. His eyes widening as he glanced at his other-half twin brother Yushi, who immediately caught on. The twins telephaty beyond extra.
“Oh, you mean the hickey?” Yushi said, his voice rising with glee as he sat up, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “The one on Papa’s neck that he tried to hide with that scarf in the middle of summer?”
Riku smirked, leaning back on his heels. “Yeah, I saw it too. They thought they were being slick, but come on bro, I can’t unsee that.”
Sion shook his head, his dimpled smile betraying his fondness despite his horror. “They’re so gross. I love them, but they’re gross, oh my god”
As if on cue, the familiar black SUV rolled into the parking lot, its sleek exterior gleaming under the sun like it belonged on a showroom floor. The doors pop open, and out step Jaehyun and Doyoung, looking like they just walked off the set of a blockbuster romance. A vision of marital bliss that turned heads even among the distracted teens and their families. Jaehyun, the epitome of CEO charisma, wore a tailored white button-down with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing strong forearms, and dark jeans that hugged his frame. His sunglasses were pushed atop his head like he’s about to close a million-dollar deal. His dimpled smile’s in full force, scanning the crowd for his boys like a proud dad on a mission.
Doyoung, ever the supermodel under JD Entertainment’s banner, looked like he’d just walked off a Vogue shoot, his slim frame draped in a lightweight linen shirt in pale blue, paired with fitted chinos that accentuated his long legs. His dark hair was artfully tousled, and a pair of sleek sunglasses hung from his collar, but what caught the boys’ eyes was the faint, purplish mark peeking out just above the collar of his shirt, a telltale hickey that no amount of strategic buttoning could fully hide.
“Oh my God,” Riku muttered, his cool facade cracking as he nudged Sion. “You see that? They didn’t even try to cover it up this time.”
Yushi clapped a hand over his mouth, stifling a giggle. “Papa’s gonna say it’s a bug bite or something nonsense hahaha.”
Sion’s eyes widened, his hand flying to his forehead in mock despair. “I can’t believe they’re walking around like that in public. We’re never gonna live this down.”
Doyoung spotted the boys first, his face lighting up with a radiant smile that could’ve sold out a magazine spread. “My babies!” he called, his voice carrying across the field with a warmth that drew amused glances from other parents. He waved enthusiastically, his tote bag swinging from his shoulder as he started toward them, Jaehyun’s arm already slung around his waist, pulling him close. The gesture was effortless, intimate, and utterly shameless, their bodies moving in perfect sync as they walked. Doyoung leaned into Jaehyun’s side, his hand slipping into Jaehyun’s back pocket, his fingers brushing against the denim in a flirty, familiar way that made the boys groan preemptively.
“Here we go again,” Riku said, rolling his eyes but unable to hide the fondness in his expression. “They’re in full-on honeymoon mode activated.”
Yushi popped up from the grass, already grinning de and mischievous “They’re so gross, but it’s kinda cute, right? Like, in a ‘we’re gonna die of embarrassment’ kinda way.”
Sion shook his head, pushing off the post to meet his parents halfway. “You two are hopeless,” he called, but his dimpled smile was pure Jaehyun as he closed the distance, his eyes warm despite his teasing.
Doyoung reached Sion first, pulling him into a tight hug that had Sion squirming but not pulling away. “My handsome boys,” Doyoung cooed, his voice dripping with affection as he ruffled Sion’s hair, his eyes scanning every feature like he was checking for malnutrition.
By now, Riku and Yushi had jogged over, Riku with his hands in his pockets, exuding cool detachment, and Yushi practically vibrating with excitement. “Papa!” Yushi launched himself at Doyoung, who caught him with a laugh, spinning him slightly before setting him down. “Missed you! Did you bring snacks? The camp food’s okay, but it’s no match for your tteokbokki and kimchi jjigae.”
Doyoung’s eyes sparkled as he reached into his tote bag, pulling out a large container of homemade chocolate chip cookies. “Of course I did, my little troublemaker,” he said, handing the container to Yushi, who immediately popped it open and shoved a cookie in his mouth, his eyes closing in bliss. “Made with love,” Doyoung added, winking, though his hand lingered on Jaehyun’s arm, their closeness impossible to ignore.
“You’re looking too thin. Are they feeding you enough? I brought snacks just in case.” Doyoung's gaze flickered to the hickey on his own neck, and he adjusted his collar subtly, though the mark was still visible, earning a stifled snort from Sion.
“So far, we're doing fine,” Sion said, his cheeks flushing as he caught the hickey again, his voice dropping to a whisper. “But, uh, your neck? Bug bite, right?” His tone was teasing, his dimples deepening as he raised a brow, mirroring Jaehyun’s playful smirk.
Doyoung’s eyes widened, his hand flying to his collar as he gasped, feigning innocence. “Sion, what are you implying?” he said, but his blush gave him away, his lips twitching with a smile he couldn’t suppress.
Jaehyun, meanwhile, clapped a hand on Sion’s shoulder, his dimples flashing as he laughed, completely unapologetic. “He’s got my genes. He notices everything, can’t fool him and He’s thriving ” Jaehyun did not even trying to hide how proud he is; of his sons, of that dumb hickey, apparently. His voice was warm, his gaze soft with pride evident in every line of his face as he looked at his eldest, though his arm stayed firmly around Doyoung’s waist, his fingers brushing against Doyoung’s side in a way that made Doyoung giggle.
Sion shaking his head looking at his parents lovey dovey shameless show off affection antics, though his grin betrayed his amusement.
Riku raised a brow, his cool facade firmly in place as he leaned closer, inspecting Doyoung’s neck. “Papa, seriously? A hickey? At a family event?” His tone was dry, but his smirk was pure mischief, his eyes flicking to Jaehyun. “Appa, you’re out of control.”
Jaehyun laughed, his deep, rich chuckle filling the air as he pulled Doyoung closer, his hand sliding to the small of Doyoung’s back. “What can I say? Your Papa’s irresistible.” He leaned down, pressing a quick kiss to Doyoung’s cheek, the hickey now fully exposed as Doyoung’s collar shifted. Doyoung swatted his chest, his blush deepening, but his eyes crinkled with delight.
“Jeong Jaehyun, you’re embarrassing the kids,” Doyoung said, his tone playful as he nudged Jaehyun’s side, though he leaned into the embrace, his fingers brushing against Jaehyun’s wrist in a flirty, subconscious gesture like they’re in their own little rom-com bubble.
The boys groan in perfect harmony like they’ve rehearsed this reaction since birth, a ritual protest to their parents’ shameless affection, but the warmth in their eyes betrayed how much they adored it.
“Can you two chill for, like, five minutes?” Sion said, throwing his hands up, though his dimpled grin gave him away. “And maybe invest in some concealer brand next time?”
“Yeah, we’re trying to eat cookies here,” Yushi added, his mouth full, crumbs flying as he gestured dramatically. “But that hickey’s staring at me harder than Riku’s death glare when I steal his hoodies.”
Riku shot Yushi a mock glare, his cool aura intact. “Keep my hoodies out of this. And seriously, Appa, Papa, you’re worse than the couples in those K-dramas you produce.”
Jaehyun smirked, his arm still around Doyoung as he tilted his head, his tone flirty. “Lemme tell you kiddos, those dramas are inspired by us. Right, darling?” He leaned closer, brushing his nose against Doyoung’s ear, making Doyoung giggle and swat him again.
“Stop it, you’re incorrigible,” Doyoung said, but his voice was soft, his hand slipping into Jaehyun’s, their wedding rings glinting in the sunlight as they intertwined. He turned to the boys, his eyes sparkling. “You’ll understand when you’re in love someday.”
“Nah, hard pass,” Riku said, though his smirk softened as he grabbed a cookie, his cool exterior cracking just enough to show his affection.
The family settled at a picnic table under a sprawling oak, the boys sprawled across the benches while Jaehyun and Doyoung sat so close their thighs pressed together, their hands brushing constantly. Jaehyun’s arm draped over Doyoung’s shoulders, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on Doyoung’s arm, while Doyoung leaned into him, his hand resting on Jaehyun’s knee. Every so often, Doyoung would turn to murmur something in Jaehyun’s ear, his lips brushing close enough to make Jaehyun chuckle, low and warm. Jaehyun responded by tilting his head to whisper something back, his breath tickling Doyoung’s ear, making him laugh and swat Jaehyun’s chest.
“You two are ridiculous,” Sion said, rolling his eyes but grinning as he leaned back on his elbows. “People are staring, you know. And that hickey’s practically glowing brighter than NCT lighstick.”
“Let them stare,” Jaehyun said, his voice smug as he leaned over to kiss Doyoung’s temple, lingering just long enough to make Doyoung blush. “I’ve got the hottest husband in the world. Gotta show him off.”
Doyoung laughed, his eyes sparkling as he nudged Jaehyun’s side. “Flatterer. You’re just trying to get out of cooking dinner tonight.”
“Is it working?” Jaehyun asked, his dimples flashing as he tilted his head, his tone flirty and playful.
“Maybe,” Doyoung teased, his fingers squeezing Jaehyun’s hand as he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a mock whisper. “But you’re still on dish duty.”
The boys groaned again, their synchronized exasperation almost theatrical. “Can you not flirt in front of us?” Riku said, though his smirk betrayed his amusement. “And maybe not mark each other up where we can see it? We’re traumatized enough”
“Yeah, Appa’s basically a vampire at this point,” Yushi added, “Papa, you gotta stop letting him near your neck.” his eyes twinkling with mischief as he tossed a cookie crumb at Jaehyun, who caught it midair with a laugh.
The afternoon unfolded in a whirlwind of activity, the boys dragging their parents around the camp to show off their achievements. Sion led them to the soccer field, where he reenacted his game-winning goal, his form as smooth and confident as Jaehyun’s had been in his youth. Jaehyun cheered loudly, his CEO composure replaced by pure dad energy, while Doyoung snapped photos, already planning to post them with some cringey caption.
Riku took them to the archery range, where he hit the bullseye with a precision that had Doyoung gasping and Jaehyun nodding approvingly. “He’s got your focus, babe,” Doyoung murmured, his pride unmistakable, his hand resting on Jaehyun’s lower back as they watched Riku line up another shot. Doyoung beamed, his eyes soft, though he couldn’t resist leaning into Jaehyun’s touch, earning another eye-roll from Riku, who muttered, “Get a room,” under his breath.
Yushi insisted on dragging them to the arts and crafts cabin, where he proudly presented a lopsided clay mug he’d made. “For your coffee, Papa,” he said, his mischievous grin softening into sincerity as he handed it to Doyoung. The mug was uneven, with a wonky handle, but Doyoung held it like it was priceless, his eyes misting over. “It’s perfect, Yushi,” he said, pulling Yushi into a hug. Jaehyun ruffled Yushi’s hair, his voice warm.
As the sun dipped toward the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, the family found a spot by the lake, spreading out a blanket on the grassy shore. The boys sprawled around their parents, bickering over who’d gotten the most mosquito bites, Yushi insisted it was him, while Riku claimed bugs avoided him because he was too cool. Jaehyun and Doyoung sat close, their hands intertwined, their wedding rings catching the fading light. Doyoung leaned his head on Jaehyun’s shoulder, and Jaehyun pressed a soft kiss to his hair, his arm wrapping around Doyoung’s waist. That hickey’s still there, peeking out like a badge of their ridiculous love.
“You guys are so sappy,” Yushi said, tossing a pebble into the water, but his grin was wide, his eyes soft with affection.
“Get used to it,” Jaehyun said, his voice teasing as he pulled Doyoung closer, his fingers brushing against Doyoung’s side in a way that made him giggle. “This is what a happy marriage looks like.”
Sion snorted, stretching out on the blanket. “Yeah, yeah. Just don’t start making out in public space, okay? And maybe invest in a turtleneck, Appa.”
“No promises,” Jaehyun said, his tone playful as he tilted his head to meet Doyoung’s gaze, their faces inches apart. Jaehyun’s eyes crinkled, and he leaned in, brushing his nose against Doyoung’s in a gesture so tender it made the boys groan again.
“Ugh, gross!” Riku said, but he was laughing, his cool facade cracking as he tossed another cookie crumb at his parents.
The laughter echoed across the lake, mingling with the sounds of the camp winding down. The Jeong family sat together, wrapped in the warmth of their bond, the boys’ playful complaints and teasing about the hickey a testament to the love they’d grown up with a love that was loud, shameless, and utterly unshakable.
