Chapter Text
He clutched his hands, stepping forward. Under him, there was nothing. In contrary to the loud noises of struggle, there was just quietness now. Not a single sound, the silence only tainted by the slight breathing and the quiet cry of the baby behind him.
And despite that small child behind him.. In that very moment - as he stood there, all he could about was his own daughter. He had left her behind to pursue something, that, in her eyes, didn’t make sense. He was sure that she probably hated him. But nothing in the world, not even her hate, could stop him from loving her. In that very moment, all he could think about were the moments he was able to have with her. The laughter when he had carried her around, when they had fallen into the soft grass of the park laughing and giggling like two best friends that hadn’t seen each other in ages. The times they had eaten together, or even just gossiped about another annoying kid in his daughter’s school. Or the time she had been disappointed in him because he had missed her birthday. The time he didn’t have enough money to buy her more toys. And even though, through all of that, not all the moments they had were perfect or even remotely close to being nice - they were moments with her.
And that was all that mattered to him. The feelings they had shared. Good or bad.
Looking up, he faced the tainted glass. The VIPs.. They could see him, that was clear. He narrowed his eyes, a feeling so overwhelming, so strong, slowly washing over him. They didn’t understand all of this, nothing of it. For them it was all just fun, entertainment. They didn’t understand. Didn’t understand how much humanity is and how much it can be. Didn’t understand what it means to be human. Being an human is so much more than existing. Being a human is so incredibly much more than simply living. Being a human isn’t just instincts. And no words, no amount of talking or explaining could ever explain that to them or anyone properly. You can’t just explain humanity with one word. Never, ever in the world, would that do it Justice. Being a human is..
Gi hun sighed.
“We aren’t horses.”
He gritted his teeth.
“We are humans.”
He narrowed his eyes.
“And humans..”
He took a step back.
“Are.”
He fell.
