Wedding Day

Notes:

Alexander Hotep belongs to @vomittinq

Work Text:

It was a gorgeous day outside, the birds chirping and the sun shining so beautifully across the wedding venue. Soft waves from the beach crashed along the white sand dunes that were lined with eggshell-colored seats full of people. A perfect day for a wedding.

The gentle hum of the vanity lights snapped Abigor back to reality as he turned to look at himself in the mirror. He squinted as his makeup artist powdered his foundation and began the finishing touches.

“Five minutes, Mr. Hotep,” called a soft voice from the other side of the door to his dressing room.

He waved off the hairdresser and the makeup artist and simply stared at himself. Although he was looking at himself, his beloved was on his mind.

What was he wearing?

Would he look good enough standing beside Alexander?

Was Alexander anticipating this day as much as he was?

The nerves in his stomach made the questions more abundant, filling his mind until he heard his phone buzz. He glanced down at the message and immediately smiled. It was Alexander.

Picking up his phone, Abigor read the simple yet sweet words on the screen.

‘I can’t wait to see you. I love you, Abi.’

He chuckled and set his phone down, blushing softly as he thought of his husband awaiting him in his own dressing room. A gentle knock sounded from the door before Aabha stepped in, her own wedding attire as stunning as his own. She wore a simple, sleek black dress with a string of pearls, her hair up in a bun with a single, familiar red rose tucked behind her ear. She smiled warmly at Abigor and walked over, closing the door softly behind her.

“You are… wow, you’re stunning, Abigor. How are you feeling, dear?” Aabha asked, sitting beside him on the vanity bench and resting her head on his shoulder. Abigor looked at their reflection, a fond smile gracing his lips.

“Nervous, but… I’ve never been so excited in my life.”

Aabha giggled with a nod, her smile widening.

“I bet…He’s gorgeous, by the way. Alex, I mean.”

“I have no doubt he’ll be the most stunning person in the room,” Abigor said dreamily, his heart thudding at the thought of his husband to be. Another soft knock to the door came along with that same voice from earlier.

“One minute, Mr. Hotep.”

Aabha stood and smoothed out her dress, waving giddily at Abigor.

“Well, let me get to my seat. I love you, Abi.”

With that, Aabha kissed Abigor’s cheek before quickly scuttling out of his dressing room. Abigor stood up himself to admire his figure for a moment in the full-sized mirror. His sky-blue suit was stunning, and the lace adornments matched Alexander’s favorite colors perfectly. He turned slightly, looking at the tightened corset before letting out a long breath to still his ever-growing nerves. With one last look at himself, Abigor grabbed his bouquet of roses and stepped out of the dressing room to head outside to the beach.

Soft organ music played as Abigor walked down the sandy, petal covered aisle. He was surrounded by recruits, officers, and coworkers alike, as he had no family and neither did Alexander. Yet, the venue was full of nothing but love. Everyone who showed smiled warmly at the man as he walked towards the arch and podium. Reaching the front, Abigor politely nodded to the officiant and turned to wave to the crowd, his smile widening when his eyes caught Aabha’s and Peter’s on the very front row.

After a few moments, the music started again, making Abigor’s heart jump in his chest. He watched the door to the building anxiously until it opened. There stood Alexander in the most elegant white dress, fabric roses sewn across the bust and down the entirety of the garment. His wings poked out of the back through neatly cut holes that were sewn with a golden thread, and his beautifully long, sky blue hair draped over his shoulders aside from a small bun that kept his locks from his face.

Abigor’s jaw dropped. He was speechless. Alexander had always been the center of attention in any room he walked in, wearing the highest fashion clothes money could buy. Yet, this simple and elegant dress made him stand out the most in Abigor’s eyes.

As Alexander slowly walked down the aisle, Abigor watched him lovingly. Everyone else seemed to fade away as his beloved stepped forward and stood right in front of him with that signature sideways grin. It usually held mischief, but this time it was warmer.

“You’re… wow. Aabha was right.” Abigor murmured, almost as if he were in a daze. Alexander chuckled, shaking his head and rolling his eyes at Abigor’s love sick expression.

“Careful. You might drool everywhere, Abi. Everyone’s watching.” Alexander quipped, his lips turning up into a smirk. Abigor let out a breathy snort and handed the bouquet of roses to him. Their fingers brushed one another briefly, and for a moment, they locked eyes. The waves were the perfect backdrop as the officiant spoke his piece. They read through their vows, Abigor tearing up through his as he stared lovingly at Alexander through every word.

“Do you, Abigor, take Alexander to be your husband? Do you promise to love, cherish, and protect him forevermore?

Abigor smiled and nodded, staring into Alexander’s eyes.

“I do. With my entire being.”

“Do you, Alexander, take Abigor to be your husband? Do you promise to love, cherish, and protect him forevermore?”

“I do. With all of my heart.” Alexander nodded, tucking a strand of his hair behind his ear before clutching Abigor’s hands in his.

“Then, I now pronounce you two Mr. and Mr. Hotep.” The officiant closed his book and looked between them with a kind smile, signaling for them to kiss. Abigor and Alexander leaned into one another and kissed softly with happy cheers in the background. When they pulled away, Abigor cupped Alexander’s cheek while Alexander’s hands rested on his waist, and they stared at one another with love and devotion in their eyes.

“I love you, Alexander.”

“I love you too, Abigor.”
