This partiular day when Conan came home from school, he was doubting whether he did fell in love for the first time. Definitely thinking whether he should tell his older brother Shinichi or his parents. He's just as scared as a cat, knowing that his mother would immediately supported him but he doesn't know what Shinichi and his father would think of.
So he immediately went to his room to change his clothes before meeting them at their library. Before Conan could open the door, he could hear a conversation coming from his parents and Shinichi; probably discussing about his future colleges.
If Conan's not wrong, he does have a girlfriend named Mouri Ran; in fact, he had teased him for so long about getting a girlfriend. But now, it's his parents and Shinichi's turn to tease him.
His heart pounded when he opened the door for himself but was then greeted by Yukiko who was standing in front of the door. Conan stared at her for a second before he was picked up quickly his mother, happy to see him,
"Conan-kun! You're back! How was school, dear?"
Yukiko closed the door with one hand then walked towards Yusaku and Shinichi, still having their small conversation.
"Kāsan, I have something to tell you all" Yukiko stopped at her tracks and looked at her nervous, youngest son who was fiddling with his fingers. She then asked him again before walking then stopped completely in front of the two boys,
"What is it, Conan-kun? Something happened in school?"
Conan nodded quickly, but before Yukiko could ask again. Yusaku then greeted his wife and Conan, like he usually do; he pinched his youngest son's cheek, teasingly. Shinichi surprisingly actually chuckled at this small moment but Conan, he was embarrassed as hell.
Yukiko then proceeded to bring up the topic that Conan mentioned and his heart skipped a beat when she mentioned that something might happen in his school. Yusaku raised his eyebrows before looking at Conan who looked at straight in the eyes, waiting for another question to come by.
Conan then turned to look at his older brother, Shinichi, outta nowhere smirked like he knew something. He was damn by the time his older brother completely knew what Conan was actually thinking about, he then proceeded to ask something that peeked curiosity of both parents,
"So... you got a girlfriend?" Shinichi smiled teasingly to Conan whom the younger was too shocked to answer.
Conan then looked at his mother who was clearly staring at him back before changing her expression like a happy mother like she is, "You have a girlfriend?! Who?! Tell me, Conan-chan!!"
Damn, things are becoming a little harder for Conan. The kid won't catch a break from his parents and the eye-catching detail, Shinichi.
"Kāsan! It's only a small crush–" Conan's words were interrupted by his father who can't stay quiet when this conversation is somehow worth it than Shinichi's future colleges.
"If it's only a small crush, then you'll completely fall in love with her, is that right, Conan-kun?" Conan still frozen in this state, wanting to speak but kept staring at his father and Shinichi. Conan had no choice but to nod at his father, to which Yusaku wasn't surprised at all.
But Yukiko and Shinichi were. Shinchi, like a usual older brother, began to tease Conan about who's the girl he had fallen in love with. Yukiko had to stop him from teasing a lot, she doesn't want Conan's confidence to be low just because of his brother.
"Kāsan! It's okay, Shinichi-niisan can tease me a little" Yukiko hesitated for second but sighed before she made Yusaku carry Conan for a while. Yusaku agreed to his wife quickly when he began carrying his younger son, clearly a copy-paste version of him and Yukiko.
Well, Shinichi is basically also a copy-paste of himself but Yusaku so damn sure Conan's the favorite child of all time actress, his wife, Yukiko.
Conan still nervous to continue the conversation, then spoke out bravely towards his brother and his parents, "It's... Ai Haibara.. she's the new kid who's in my class"
Yusaku, Yukiko and Shinichi felt silent for a moment, they still couldn't believe nor process that the youngest did feel in love at first sight. Yukiko knew that it would take time to confess his feelings to this girl named Ai Haibara but having feelings for another person is normal.
It's just that Yukiko thinks that Conan and the girl he had a crush on, needs more time to confess properly. She wanted him to focus on his education before actually getting a girlfriend. Yukiko put her hands on her hips and scolded her youngest son gently,
"Conan-chan! You're still in first grade! You should focus on your education first, than confessing your feelings to that girl– eh‐ Ai Haibara! That's her name, isn't it?"
Conan then took his moment to think before answering his mother, "Uhn! I will, Kāsan!" Conan said while smiling at his mother but in his mind, clearly so done with her but she might be right. He has to focus on his studies first right before getting a girlfriend.
Who knew he might confess to her in the future?
Yukiko then changed her expression quickly while Shinichi side-eyed his mother before looking to stare at Conan, he smiled as he now understood the sudden teasings from the youngest about him getting a girlfriend.
Conan then remembered if they were actualling joking along in this situation so he asked this difficult question to his parents and his older brother, "You're not mad at me right? All of you..?"
Conan was basically even more scared, probably waiting for either one of them to get angry at hik but his expectations didn't end up there. He flinched when Shinichi suddenly pinched his cheeks again but this time it's gentle,
"We're not mad at you! It's normal to have crushes on other people but Kāsan is right, focus on your education first, okay?" Conan tried to escape from Shinichi's hand who pinched his cheek but was completely told off by his father, his scary face glared at Shinichi while made the older brother put away his hand to his back.
Yusaku then come back to his senses, normally to hold Conan properly again. He then asked everyone if they wanted to have a vacation to celebrate one of Conan's moments that are about to appear in the future. Yukiko agreed at her husband's idea and told everyone to go to the beach together, Shinichi and Yusaku agreed quickly without thinking but Conan did think before answering at her,
"I.. will go! I want to swim and built a huge sandcastle!!" Conan exclaimed happily when he realised he did really want to play and swim happily, one of the moments that will probably added soon to his beloved family time and memories.
Everyone laughed and Conan too, they had spent their time, draining Conan's negative energy that was quickly changed into a positive energy.
