Work Text:
Marion's owner was hard of hearing and Marion was very quiet so they settled for a simpler method. Writing, and sign language.
Today, her question was a simple, "what is love?"
Arlette picked up the small child who squirmed for a moment and sat her down on a chair by the table, placing a few books in front of her.
Arlette just stared in response. Throughout the past 3 days that Marion has known Arlette, it hadn't once spoke a word to her. He doesn't seem to mean any harm at least.
Marion could faintly understand what her owner was telling her.
Arlette didn't understand "love", and instead, put books in front of his pet. His human liked books, right?
Well, an attempt was made. It was after her fragile heart was betrayed again that she could only clutch the pieces as she laid in the garden. A fake blue sky above them...
"What is love?" Marion laid down between Rayne and Hyun-Ae who cuddled up to her like she were a teddy bear. Marion was the oldest after all so she'll act like it, at least for a little while.
"Love..." Rayne whispered softly. Hyun-Ae also seemed conflicted. Marion was going to consider it a question that could never be answered when Rayne spoke up.
"Love is a warm feeling. Your heart races around the person you like." Rayne smiled. Curiosity took hold of Marion, slipping away from Hyun-Ae to climb over her, one palm pressed onto the ground while the other rested tenderly over her heart.
It was fast.. Faster than usual... That's love?
"I don't get it..." Hyun-Ae grumbled and Rayne just laughed, pushing Marion off to envelope Hyun-Ae in her embrace.
"You're so cute, Hyun-Ae!" Rayne giggled.
Ah, so that's what love means... A warm feeling that takes over your every thought...
Marion was in love with Rayne and Hyun-Ae.
