Remus was familiar with vampires, he was friends with lots of them. Their habits, emotions, transitions, Remus knew. The most complicated part was learning to control the impulses, the thirst for blood. New vampires often killed because they weren’t able to stop. That’s why he came up with this plan. They would go to a costume party, where they would dress up as vampires and Sirius could be as unsubtle as he could.
At first, Remus could see hesitation in Sirius eyes’. The other man furrowed his eyebrows and bit his lip, overwhelmed, anxious even, Remus thought. It was normal, of course. Sirius was experiencing the intensity of heightening feelings for the first time. He had to get used to the overly loud music, the high vibrations, the sickening smells. And what was the most difficult thing to ignore: the smell of blood and the hearts beating.
“Hey,” Sirius looked at him. “You have nothing to worry about. Today is the perfect opportunity to learn your body, your instincts, your new nature. I’m here, alright?” Sirius nodded. “Come on, where is the bloke that loved parties?”
“He is fucking terrified because now he is able to kill people!”
“Technically, humans are able to kill too-” Sirius glared. “Alright. Listen, you can hear everything-”
“Yeah, I thought it was cool but now I fell fucking awful.”
“I said listen. Close your eyes.” He did. “Focus on the buzzing of the speakers, on people humming. The sweet scent of alcohol. You can concentrate on the enjoyable things. You have full control”
When Sirius opened his eyes, he looked as if he was looking at something that has always been there but never noticed. There was hunger. When Sirius was mortal, he adored parties, now it would be absolute chaos. Sirius grinned.
“And?” Remus asked, knowing Sirius found the addiction of it.
“I need to feel more.” Remus took it as a personal challenge.
It was harder for them to get absolutely wasted, and yet they were there to test that limit. They moved to the centre of the dance floor, where they were just some more bodies of the crowd. It was dark, except for the flashing lights, which were dim. Everybody moved in unison, jumping and dancing and pushing. Remus tried to put some distance between himself and Sirius, but there was no use. Sirius didn’t seem to mind, he had his eyes closed and was singing. Their bodies pressed against each other. Remus could feel Sirius’ heart beat against his chest, he could smell the drink he had earlier. His hair was brushing Remus.
Remus was a knowledgeable man. He studied, read and investigated. Everyone knew Remus was an informed person, that’s why everyone searched for advice with him. That’s why Sirius had come to him. Yet, it was also a fact well known that Remus was awkward and a loser. Even more when it came to Sirius and his pathetic crush on him. Remus wished Sirius didn’t focus on his heart thrumming or his red face. There was nothing else that mattered at that moment. The heat, the music, the alcohol in his blood. Then, they locked eyes, Sirius wrapped his arms around Remus’ neck and moved impossibly close. Remus grabbed him by the waist, when Sirius grinned, Remus made pressure. Sirius leaned in, but not to kiss him.
“I’m hungry.” Sirius said in his ear. They had stop moving and yet they still bumped into each other. Fucking hell. “I think I’m ready.”
Remus analysed his expressions. When he was sure it wasn’t gluttony or impulsive decisions, Remus nodded.
“This is what you are going to do. You dance with someone, compel them to not scream, feed and then compel them to forget. Nothing else. You don’t have to heal them or anything. That’s why I brought you. It’s easy. Just, don’t over feed.”
Sirius nodded firmly.
“You can be as messy as you want. Enjoy.”
Sirius smirked and licked his lips. So Sirius did. The next hour, Remus watched as Sirius danced -sometimes flirted- with people, compelled them and fed. He tried to distract himself. Remus even found someone attractive to dance with, however he couldn’t take his eyes away from Sirius’ lips around someone’s neck, his hands gripping in their jaw and arm. It was sick, but Remus wanted Sirius to do that to him. Jealousy rose inside Remus. It was stupid and childish. He couldn’t help but crave it. Then Sirius moved to another person and there he was face, neck and shirt covered in blood, eyes lit up. At some point, Sirius tied his hair and it was criminal how good he looked. Remus needed him. His own instincts perking up. His jealousy, his desire, his lust was heightened too.
Determined, Remus walked to Sirius, tapped his shoulder. Sirius turned around and looked at him confused. Remus offered a hand. Sirius took it. Even if every fibre of Remus was telling him to lean forward and kiss Sirius, or to get him out of there, he needed to know if it was alright.
Remus placed his thumb in Sirius’ bottom lip and whipped the blood off, then he licked his thumb. Sirius watched the motion, his pupils blown. His own fingers moved with precision and in slow motion to unbutton the first buttons of his shirt. He moved the collar and looked at Sirius, who had a suggestive eyebrow. If Sirius had asked, Remus would have begged in his knees. There was no need. Sirius didn’t hesitate.
When Sirius fed on him, it wasn’t like he did with the rest. Oh, no. Sirius moved the collar to have full access, slid one hand on his neck, the other one on his shoulder. Remus for the second time in the night placed his hands on Sirius’ waist and moved his head to the side so Sirius would be more comfortable. Sirius moved slow, savouring each moment. Firstly, he let his breath make Remus’ shiver. Then, Sirius pressed his warm lips on his skin. He brushed them in the length of Remus’ neck, stopping at his pulse. When Sirius felt it was fast, he smiled against Remus’. He continued until he found the vein. Sirius opened his mouth and bit. Hard. Remus closed his eyes and couldn’t decipher whether he felt more pain than pleasure. Sirius began sucking, and Remus tighten his grip. Yes, yes, yes. Was all Remus could think. Seeing Sirius was being careful, Remus whispered, knowing Sirius would hear.
“I know you can do it harder, love.” Sirius complied and buried even more his teeth. Remus whimpered and groaned. “That’s it. Just there.” After a moment, Sirius had to stop before eating all of Remus’ blood. Sirius’ mouth was inches from the spot he had bit earlier. Remus exhaled deeply when Sirius lick it. Sirius straightened up and looked at Remus, who took the back of his neck and kissed him. Sirius’ tasted of his blood and alcohol, and he couldn’t care less. The only thing that mattered was Sirius’ tongue against his. Remus then brushed Sirius’ bottom lip with his tongue before bitting it hard, so Sirius could have even a small sensation of what Remus had felt. He swallowed Sirius’ moan. They were breathing heavily. This was everything Remus needed, Sirius’ taste, his touch. And yet, Remus wanted more. He broke the kiss, grabbed Sirius by his jaw and said.
“Sirius, please come to mine tonight. I’ll treat you well. I’ll make sure you have a good time. Let me take care of you.”
“Oh, Remus. We both know you just want me to leave bite marks all over your body.” Sirius smirked, and Remus might become stupid when he was with Sirius, but Remus was also honest.
“Yes, that.” Remus knew his eyes were dark when he stared into Sirius’. “And I want to fuck you.”
Sirius’ breath hitched and nodded rapidly.
