Lightweight Relaspe

Summary:

Javier had left master Lloyd alone for five minutes. Five minutes. He hadn't even gone that far! Master Lloyd had been within eyesight! The hooligan had a penchant for finding trouble at parties like these, so he had vowed to never leave master Lloyd completely alone. He shuddered remembering the attempted assassination on the queen. But someone had pulled him aside and he looked away to respond for just a moment and when he looked back, the county's pride had disappeared.

Work Text:

Javier had left master Lloyd alone for five minutes. Five minutes. He hadn't even gone that far! Master Lloyd had been within eyesight! The hooligan had a penchant for finding trouble at parties like these, so he had vowed to never leave master Lloyd completely alone. He shuddered remembering the attempted assassination on the queen. But someone had pulled him aside and he looked away to respond for just a moment and when he looked back, the county's pride had disappeared.

He stalked through crowds looking for his master. Crowds parted for him upon seeing his glare. Master Lloyd was going to be sorry if he stirred up trouble again…

Javier froze as he spotted his master towards the wall. Lloyd was sipping from a glass that was undoubtedly filled with alcohol. Javier beelined him, hand on the hilt of his sword. He wasn't too worried. Ever since Lloyd Frontera started acting strange, he hadn't been seen once entering a bar or drinking anything alcoholic. It was a welcome change. Still, Javier supposed that it was inevitable that Lloyd would pick up the bottle again. Thankfully it was just one glass. Javier had seen Lloyd drink some of the soldiers in the county's ranks under the table back in the day, one drink wasn't going to affect his master that much.

That was what Javier's initial assumption had been before talking to his master.

“Master Lloyd, you were not supposed to go off on your own.” Javier scolded.

Lloyd smiled and Javier recoiled. That was a real smile. Not one of his creepy ‘I'm gonna sell you your own shit’ smiles, but an actual smile. A light flush tinted his master's face.

“Javier! I was looking for you but then someone passed me a drink and I felt bad saying no! Anyways it was super horrible tasting! Anyways I missed you!” Lloyd said cheerfully.

Javier felt his world crumbling. There was no way his charge was wasted after one drink right? Clearly he'd been drugged right? Javier pushed his mana to his master's and found no traces of poison. Javier sighed and accepted the cruel fate of his life, guiding a very talkative Lloyd to the door.

There was no way he was gonna let Lloyd stay out in the public like this. Best to contain the man before the drunkard in him came out.

Javier escorted his drunk master through the town they were in, back towards the inn they were holed up at. Much to his annoyance, Lloyd had become more clingy than before. It was like he was a different person even when drunk.

Lloyd clung to his arm, “Javier! Thank you so much for all the help, I couldn't have done it without you buddy!”

Javier raised an eyebrow as he urged them forward, “Of course master Lloyd.”

“I can't believe you actually call me that! You really are just like the novel!” Lloyd praised, though to Javier all he felt was confusion.

Lloyd continued, “Oh and you're also just as pretty as in the novel, more so in my opinion. You always were beautiful, but now that you're real it doesn't compare!”

Javier felt himself blush, “That's… nice.”

Wait. Now that he was real? Okay someone had definitely given the young master something in his drink. At least they had returned to their room at the inn. Now all Javier had to do was get his charge to bed and-

Lloyd began clumsily stripping down.

Javier sighed and conceded defeat, helping his master out of his clothes. By the time Lloyd was in his trousers Javier was exasperated. Lloyd moved to keep going. Javier grabbed his wrist.

“Let's not go that far master Lloyd.” Javier warned.

Lloyd nodded as if Javier had said something sagely, “Yeah that makes sense. Aren't you going to change?”

Javier shrugged off his outer jacket. Lloyd frowned. Javier sighed and pulled his scarf loose. Lloyd nodded and moved to the bed.

“Aren't you going to tuck me in?”

Javier gave his charge a flat look, “I believe that's out of the scope of my duties.”

Lloyd frowned and looked painfully similar to a wet cat Javier had seen on the street, “Yeah but, isn't your job to take care of me?”

Javier nodded and pulled the blanket up on his master. Lloyd snuggled in deeper and grinned.

“You need the lullaby right?” Lloyd chirped and Javier was honestly surprised that he even remembered the matter.

Javier settled back into his designated chair and closed his eyes to sleep, “Alright master Lloyd.”

“Right! Drywall work is a versatile building material utilized to create or cover ceilings and walls. It is available in various constructions and types, including plasterboard, mold-resistant, and VOC-absorbing- oh you're asleep already.”

Javier wasn't, though he had been close. He stilled himself as he heard Lloyd get out of bed. He felt a blanket drape over his ‘sleeping’ form and almost flinched as Lloyd pressed a kiss to his forehead.

He had not been expecting that.

“I love you Javi, always have, sleep well!” Lloyd whispered into the dark.

Javier expected that even less.

He was never going to never let Lloyd drink ever again… probably. There was absolutely no way he was going to sleep tonight. Not a chance. Especially with how warm his face felt.
