Both Zane and Aphmau had the day off of work today. Aphmau was making breakfast while Zane stayed on the sofa, his arms wrapped around Celestia as they watched some random Netflix series on the TV. They had moved in together not long after they came home from Love~Love Paradise, and Zane couldn’t be happier with how his life was. He had always had some sort of feelings towards Aphmau since high school, but they really started coming to fruition when they became closer friends. He loved her so much and nothing could change that.
Zane slowly got up from where he sat on the sofa, slowly padding into the kitchen where Aphmau stood, making pancakes for the two of them. He smiled softly and walked over, hugging her from behind and kissing the top of her head. He tended not to wear his mask around her, considering it was just them, and Zane felt the most comforted around her. Aphmau relaxed when she felt her boyfriend’s arms around her. “Good morning sleepyhead.” She giggled, feeling Zane bury his face into her raven locks. “Morning..” He mumbled, the sleepiness in his voice still evident.
“Do you want cream on your pancakes?” Aphmau asked, tilting her head up a bit to look at Zane. He took that opportunity and kissed her forehead. “Can I have some sprinkles too?” his voice was uncharacteristically soft, and his hands rested on her hips, thumbs rubbing over her hips affectionately. Aphmau let out a soft laugh, nodding. “You don’t need to ask, they’re in the cupboard. I got those pink ones you like last time I went grocery shopping.” Aphmau’s smile was evident by how her tone sounded. Zane pulled away from her to check in the cupboard, and sure enough, they were there. He took down the sprinkles as Aphmau dished up Zane’s pancakes, applying a generous dollop of cream to the top. Zane smiled and put the sprinkles on top of them. “Thanks, Aph.” He took the pancakes over to the table as Aphmau dished up her own pancakes and then brough him over a cup of coffee. Zane took a sip of his coffee and began eating his pancakes. He and Aphmau shared small talk as they ate together. It was something the couple did every morning, yet still felt so special. This was their time, no expectations from other people, no judgement from their peers, just them.
“I was thinking today maybe we could go to dinner later?” Zane suggested. “It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it’s been a while since we went out… It would be nice to take you out. Maybe Olive Garden?” Aphmau’s eyes lit up at the mention of Olive Garden. “That sounds perfect! You know me so well, Zane!” Aphmau grinned and got up. “What time do you want to go?” “Maybe around 5pm? That gives us time to cuddle and then you time to get ready before we go.” Zane took her hand and gently stroked it as he spoke. Aphmau enthusiastically nodded, and with her confirmation, Zane got up to clean the dishes, seeing as Aphmau had made breakfast it was only fair.

Aphmau took her time getting ready, putting on makeup, doing her hair and picking out an outfit that was both comfortable and cute at the same time. When they were ready to go, Zane drove them both down to the nearest Olive Garden. He pulled into the parking lot and got out, then went over to open Aphmau’s car door. She giggled as she stepped out of the vehicle. “You don’t need to open the door for me.” She straightened her sweater and closed her door. Zane locked the car and they headed inside.
The couple were led to a table and given menus to look through. Zane held her hand as he looked through the menu, gently rubbing her knuckles. “The usual?” he hummed, already knowing Aphmau’s answer. “Yeah, same with you?” she looked up at him. “Yeah, thanks for letting me take you out, Aph. I love going on dates with you.” He hummed, giving her a soft look. Aphmau giggled and looked away. “Oh stop it… you make me so happy.” They looked at each other for a moment before Zane waved down a waiter and he took their order. As they waited for the food to arrive, they talked softly to each other about everything and nothing. Zane just loved hearing Aphmau talk, she had a really nice voice.
Their food arrived and Aphmau’s eyes lit up. “Oh my Irene, it smells so good!” She squealed and began eating as soon as the food was put down in front of her. Zane smiled fondly and moved his mas down before he started eating as well. While they had dinner, they continued to talk to each other, the topic changing every five minutes, but they were still enjoying their company nonetheless. “How’s your food, Aph?” Zane asked, looking down at Aphmau’s plate, and noticing it was almost empty. “Ah, I take it was good?” He laughed quietly, finding it cute how quickly she ate. “Yeah! It was so good!” She grinned before taking one final bite. Not long later, Zane finished his food and called over to pay the check. Aphmau tried to pay for her food, but Zane didn’t let her. “No, no. Let me spoil you, hon. I don’t mind.” He said softly, and the tone in his voice made her melt. “Okay.” She giggled at his tone. He knew it made her flustered when he spoke to her like that.
Once the check was paid for, they walked back to Zane’s car hand-in-hand. “Wanna go get dessert?” Aphmau suggested. “Hm? You don’t need to ask me twice. What kind of dessert would you like?” He squeezed her hand, rubbing her knuckles still. “How about that local ice-cream place? You can add your own toppings there!” She smiled, which caused a small smile to form on Zane’s face, too. “Yeah? Right, lets go then.” He opened her car door and she got in. Zane got in on the driver’s side and she directed him towards the ice cream place. When they got there, Aphmau rushed in to look at all the toppings. “Ohhh Zane they have those rainbow sprinkles you like!!” She grinned. Zane came in behind her, looking at the sprinkles himself.
“What flavour of ice-cream do you want, babe?” Zane asked. Aphmau smiled and looked at all the flavours. “ohhh, oreo ice cream sounds amazing right now.” Zane smiled and ordered an oreo ice cream for Aphmau, and strawberry ice cream for himself. When their ice cream was ready, Zane paid and they went back to Zane’s car with the ice cream. Aphmau smiled while eating the ice cream, happily kicking her legs. “Thank you so much for such a fun date, Zane, I’ve had such a great time.” She looked up at him, before offering him some of her ice cream. He ate it and then offered her a spoonful as well. “Yeah? I’m glad you had such a good time, Aph. I love seeing you so happy.” He said softly, moving to gently kiss her forehead. They finished their ice creams and Zane briefly got out of the car to put the empty paper cups in the nearest bin before coming back to the car. Zane closed the door of the car and leaned over to capture Aphmau’s lips in a gentle kiss. Aphmau kissed back, her hands finding his and intwining their fingers together. Zane pulled away after a moment and smiled softly at her. “Let’s head back home and cuddle.” Aphmau suggested, and Zane’s smile widened at that. “Yeah, sounds good, my love.” He hummed and started the car to go home.
