“Would you kiss me?”
Tony startled, looking up at Strange. They were eating dinner together, a regular occurrence in the months Strange had… belonged to him. “What?”
Strange watched him, considering. “It’s not unusual,” Strange pointed out. “Plenty of owners take their fighters to bed. And seeing who you’ve taken to bed the last few months, I suspect I’m your type.”
Tony’d taken half those men to his bed because of Strange. Men he could look at in the dim light of his room and picture Strange beneath him. It was impossible to deny Tony was feeling attraction. He’d hoped Strange hadn’t noticed.
“No,” he said.
“Why not?”
“Seriously?” Tony asked, staring at Strange.
Strange stood, moving towards him. He stopped beside Tony, leaning against the table. “And if I kissed you?”
What? Tony jerked back. Strange’s hand caught his wrist, keeping him from putting the appropriate distance between them. “What game are you playing, Strange?”
“I haven’t played games since the day I lost my sister.” Strange’s hand tightened around Tony’s wrist. “Kiss me, Tony.”
The words froze Tony in place. Strange hadn’t mentioned his sister since that first night. Why was he mentioning it now? “I won’t—”
Strange leaned in, breath warm against Tony’s lips. “Tony, kiss me.”
This couldn’t be right. It couldn’t. Except…
His lips had barely touched Strange’s before a gasp and a quiet— “Stephen?”
It was a girl’s voice, quiet and confused. Strange pulled back. They turned towards the voice. A girl stood there, water dripping from her hair and dress.
“Donna.” Strange moved instantly, dropping to his knees in front of her.
Strange had broken the curse. And Tony… What had Tony done? Surely if all it had taken was a kiss, Strange would have gotten that months ago.
So what had happened?
