Work Text:

Tim doesn’t even hear his phone buzzing, he’s so wrapped up in Lucy. They are both tangled up in each other he’s not sure where she begins and he ends. He’s just about to close his eyes again when he feels Lucy shift in his arms and then move away from him. The warmth of her body against his is immediately lost and he feels like there’s something missing.

“Luce.” He says yawning softly. “What—” but he’s interrupted by Lucy’s soft voice. It’s her just woke up morning voice that he know has the pleasure of hearing every morning.

“Hello?” She says and then she pauses a strange look coming over her face. He looks over at her, and sees her completely frozen as she moves her eyes over to meet his. “It’s for you.” She hands the phone to him and he frowns but puts it up to his ear anyway.

“Hello?”

“Tim? Why did Lucy answer your phone?” Angela’s voice sounds from the other other end and this time Tim freezes.

Oh.

“Um.” He glances over at Lucy who is in his shirt and nothing else. She’s looking at him with raised eyebrows. And it’s not like they were completely hiding their relationship anymore. Grey knew, Tamara knew and she’s pretty sure Smitty knew but—

Timothy.” Angela says her voice getting the suspicious mischievous lilt to it. “Is Lucy in your bed?”

Tim swallows hard and looks at Lucy again. “Why is that any of your business?” He asks. Lucy scoots closer to him and puts her head on his chest and he rests his chin on the top of her head.

“Because she answered your phone Tim.” Angela says. “It’s 6am in the morning. Why would you be with Lucy at 6am?” Tim blows out a breath and she did have a point. The truth is Angela probably already knew the answer but she was waiting for Tim to give it to her.

“Why are you calling at 6 in the morning?” Tim shoots back as Lucy traces shapes on his chest. He presses a kiss to the top of her head and he feels completely at peace with Lucy in bed with him, he feels like he could do this forever and he hopes to god he can have this forever.

“That doesn’t matter now.” Angela says quickly. “How long have you and Lucy been together?” Tim sighs and blows out a breath.

“A couple of months.” He finally says. There’s a beat of silence and he’s sure she’s trying to put all this together.

“Hold on.” She says suddenly. “That’s why you took a desk job.” Tim hums softly and Lucy looks up at him a knowing look in her eyes.

“Yes.”

“You took a desk job for Lucy?” Angela asks but she doesn’t sound surprised. The truth is everyone knows how close they are. And whether it’s in a partner or in a romantic way he would always have her back. And she would always have his. And if meant taking a boring desk job for Lucy he would do it. He would do it for her over and over again.

“Yes.” He says again. “I did.” He could practically see the wheels turning in Angela’s head.

“It’s all making sense.” She says her voice light. He feels Lucy press a kiss to his chest and he sighs happily. He’s not sure how it could get better than this, the woman he was falling for more and more every day tucked into his side. And while he would much rather be loving on Lucy than talking to Angela even that was okay.

“What do you need Angela?” He asks. His friend blows out a sigh, and he closes his eyes and runs his hand down his face. Lucy reaches over to grab it and laces her fingers with his.

“It doesn’t matter now.” Angela says. “We do have a lot to talk about though. But not over the phone.”

Tim rolls his eyes and watches as Lucy brings his fingers to her mouth and she presses kisses to each of them.

“Okay.” He says because he knows it’s the only way he will get Angela off the phone. “Fine.”

“Bye Tim. Tell Lucy I say hi.” Angela says and he rolls his eyes again but says bye and then hangs up the phone and tosses it aside and then turns to Lucy.

“Angela knows.” He says to Lucy who just shrugs her shoulders.

“Oh well.” She says and rolls over so she’s on top of him. “So she knows about us.” Tim grins at her and pulls her down for a kiss. It’s only been a few months, but he knows Lucy is forever. She looks like forever and she is his forever.

Yeah.” He mutters. “What a shame.” Lucy giggles and kisses him again. It’s a few minutes before they pull back for air.

“Hi.” She mutters brushing her nose against his. “This has been a great morning.” He nods and he really hopes that they will get many more of these mornings.

“I agree.” He says and he rolls over so he's hovering over her. He wants to say the three little words that are on the tip of his tongue but he doesn’t.

Not yet.

Not right now.

He’s going to soak this up, he’s going to soak up time with Lucy as much as he can. These quiet lazy mornings that he wouldn’t trade for the world.

He loves her and he’s never fallen this fast for anyone. But—

He’s going to keep having these mornings either Lucy and he knows it can only get better from here.

Because he has a feeling this is forever.

She looks like forever.

For him.
