Work Text:
Lux opened the door into the garage that had been repurposed into a workshop for Jinx, it was the only way to keep the rest of the house from being buried under a blanket of various small mechanical pieces and power tools. She was met with a landscape of pure chaos, not that Jinx was usually neat, but this was even beyond that. Shelves full of parts had been pushed over onto the ground, drawers had been flung open and ransacked, and in the middle of it all, perched like a harpy on a mountain peak during a rainstorm crouched Jinx.
She crouched on the swivel stool, and slowly rotated like a fucked up looking light house, muttering to herself all the while. She saw Lux standing in the threshold and held out a hand, "don't come in here, I lost a spring, I had it in my hand and the I squeezed it to hard and it just shot off somewhere, and I've spent forty minutes looking for it, I don't need it to be stood on or something." Lux looked at Jinx, looked at the carnage, and looked back at Jinx. "Sorry, what does the spring look like again" Lux asked curiously, Jinx gave her a look, " Like a fuckin spring I guess, I don't know what you want me to tell you"
"Is it silver and real small?"
"Exactly"
Lux waded through the sea of debris, ignoring Jinx's cries of despair until she stood in front of her. Jinx sat there, staring up with wide, bewildered eyes, as Lux carefully reached into her hair, and plucked out a tiny silver spring, maybe half an inch long. Lux gently placed the spring into Jinx’s palm, as Jinx stared at it with her mouth hanging open. Lux patted Jinx on the head, and said, “I just wanted to let you know that dinner is ready”. Lux left the garage and closed the door just as a voice wailed out, “I WAS LOOKING FOR ALMOST AN HOUR, and, “fuck of milo, I’m not taking this from a dead guy”.
