Work Text:

One day, Y/N was walking in Ibmab Town. It was a great time at night for you to just relax after a long day. You passed by a building that had its lights off, when suddenly they turned on, flashing Y/N with the power of a thousand suns. “WHAT THE FUCK???” Y/N shouted, covering their eyes to shield themself from the bright lights.

“OoPZ! zORrY AbOUt taHTZ!” Elambi shouted, that God forsaken technician that you HATE. He would always call you “cringe” on your social media posts. He’s also very loud, so loud that you could probably hear him from five-hundred miles away.

“THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM??” You yell; this guy always gets on your nerves.

“I’M JuZt fIXiNG uP SOmE LIghtZ! tOTAlLy dIDnT MEan TO shINe THaT IN yOUr FaCE!” He laughed, adjusting the brightness on the lights. You took your hands off of your face as the lights became more dimmer and less painful to look at. The bright lights pissed you off as if you didn’t already have a tough day at work. You decided to go to the coffee shop that was a block away, maybe a coffee couldn’t hurt.

After ten minutes of walking, you finally arrived at Kaffbi’s, the nicest solo shop owner you ever knew, and you were also a frequent customer there. As soon as you opened the door, a bell rang, causing Kaffbi to run to the front desk and greet you.

“Hey Y/N! How can I help you?” she asked, leaning on the counter.

“Uhm, just a coffee will do,” you answered, digging into your purse for your wallet.

Kaffbi took out a pen and a notepad and scribbled the order onto the paper, “Mhm, and what kind of coffee would you want?”

“A latte will do.” You said, still shuffling through your purse. Where the hell was your wallet??

“Okay… one latte, caf or decaf?” Kaffbi looked up from her notepad.

You sighed, a bit frustrated at the fact that your wallet was gone. “I’ll have it caffeinated.”

Kaffbi nodded, finishing up her order, “Ooookay! One latte coming right up! And don’t worry Y/N, I’ll let you go without paying, but just this once. I got rent to pay so you can’t expect me to do this every day.” She walked into the back, preparing your latte.

Y/N sat down at the farthest table from the door, covering your face with your hands as you let out a deep sigh. Did you leave their wallet back at your workplace? Or did it fall out of your purse as you were walking here? You weren’t so sure.

The bell rang.

“heEYY!! wAHtZ GoINg ON HEre??!”

Oh. It’s Elambi.

Y/N seethed, “Bro, what are you doing here?? Did you seriously follow me?” You were going to throw hands until he took a wallet out of his pocket. Wait… that was your wallet! What was he doing with that? “tHHAnkZ ME lAtER,” Elambi said as he tossed your wallet at you. You slightly flinched as it hit your chest and landed on your lap. You were so confused. How did he even get your wallet? You scoffed as you picked it up and shoved it into your purse, looking away from him as he sat across from you.

“You dodged the question, did you follow me?” you slammed your fist on the table.

“mMAyBee… yEA! I DidZ do THaTt!!!” He snickered. He had that shit-eating smile that always pissed you off every time you saw it.

You went through your wallet, checking to see if anything was taken or tampered with. Y/N was sure nothing had been taken, until you saw that one of the pockets was empty… How weird…

It took you a good three minutes to realize that your goddamn credit card was missing. Why? Why did it have to be your credit card?

“WHatT?? LOokIn FOr tHiz?” He pulled your credit card out from the pocket on his safety apron, mockingly waving it around before putting it back in. Elambi laughed as soon he saw your surprised expression, he seemed to be amused at how he had basically stolen your credit card.

FUCK! Now I gotta clean this shit up and start OVER! Urgh !”

Uh. That certainly got your attention. But nevermind that, you got a credit card to get back, no matter the circumstance. But at this point, you’d prefer to avoid conflict. You walked into the bathroom, isolating yourself from everything that would happen around you.

You sat in silence for a few minutes until you saw the door open, trying to avoid eye contact with the person who had just entered the room. You knew that it was Elambi that had followed you into the bathroom, you two were the only people there anyway.

“HeY. loOK aT mME.” Elambi demanded as he put his hands on your shoulders and turned you around, lifting your chin up for you to look into his eyes. “dON”T YoU WanTZ yOUr CreDITZ caRdZ BAcK?” He asked, taking out your credit card from his pocket and shoving it in your face.

“Uh, yeah? Can you just… give it back? I’m not having any of this shit today.” You were going to be pissed off, you were THIS close to bitchslapping Elambi. “yoU’RE nO FfuN!” He whined, “bUt I’lL GiEV IT BaCk tO YOu uNDEr OnE CONdiTIon.”

“What is it? Why? I just want my damn coffee and go home.”

“marry me :3” Elambi inquired as he got on one knee and held a ring in his left hand.

“wha—”

And then you got your credit card back while Elambi and Y/N lived happily ever after as a married couple. The end.
