Nighty Night

Summary:

Loossemble goes on tour and stay at the same hotel. They decide to book three solo rooms and a couple room for Chaewon and Hyeju to share, just to prevent Chaewon from complaining the next day about "being kept" away from her girlfriend.

The problem is, they both have completely different sleep schedules. And Hyeju doesn't like her personal space being invaded.

Notes:

okay this is the first fic that i post on this site so it may be kinda bad, but i hope you who is reading like it! This is a fruit of my hyewon fan delusional head.

Based on a interaction of two (probably homosexual) cats that i saw on the street. Yes, two cats. Two cats that i saw and instantly screamed "hyewon!!" to them. You'll probably get by reading.

I'm not crazy, just probably autistic.

Work Text:

Hyeju shuddered at the sound of the door slamming, slowly turning to see the figure of Chaewon with her hand on the doorknob, staring at it slightly tilted, making a characteristic expression of someone who just messed up.

“Please don't slam the door,” Hyeju turned around again, sitting on the end of the bed. “You'll end up waking someone up.”

“I noticed. My bad.” Chaewon hurried to sit by her side, quickly hugging a pillow as watching the other one, tapping her feet on the floor anxiously.

In contrast to her girlfriend, the taller one seemed to be fighting sleep. She took a deep breath, rubbed her face... and the process was repeated a few more times until she gave in to tiredness. She picked up her backpack, which was in a corner on the floor, opened it and took out a sleeveless T-shirt; her sweatpants would do for tonight. Hyeju stood up to take off her tank top when she remembered that she wasn't alone, looking over her shoulder at Chaewon.

“Aren't you going to turn around?” asked, while raising an eyebrow.

“There’s nothing there that I haven’t seen before,” she said without making eye contact, still swinging her legs.

Hyeju felt her cheeks burn for a moment at the response, but continued changing into a more comfortable shirt. Once finished, she placed the other one on top of the backpack and threw herself onto the bed, legs resting on the lap of the shorter girl who remained seated. She would deal with that little mess later.

"Nice back." The blonde joked, turning around to look at her.

"Can you just lie down and go to sleep?" She replied instantly, trying to pull the blanket that was under both of them and bury her face in the pillow, fighting her innerside desire to slap her girlfriend. "I want to sleep, excuse me."

"You look like a little old grandpa… going to bed early and waking up early.” she grumbled.

“And you look like a child. Doesn't your battery ever run out?” Rolled her eyes.

“No. I know you like it.”

“I'm not sure about it.” Hyeju said against the fabric.

Chaewon dropped the pillow and got up, allowing Hyeju to finally curl up in the blanket.

"Are you really sleepy...?" She asked shyly, changing her playful tone and swaying a little, receiving only a short "yes" in response.

Hyeju tried to stay silent for as long as she could, waiting for her girlfriend to lie down on the other side. Realizing that it wouldn’t happen and feeling uncomfortably watched, she opened her eyes and found the other one embarrassed, thinking she looked kind of cute in that position.

“Mhm… what do you want?” She asked with her eyes partially closed.

“Nothing, I don’t want to bother you. I’m not sleepy yet, so I’ll stay chatting with the others outside for a little while… I’ll let you sleep.”

"Alright then, good night."

Hyeju continued watching in silence, waiting for her to leave, noticing that Chaewon was still standing in front of her as if waiting for something.

"...Good night kiss?" she broke the silence and asked with a smile, drawing a small laugh from Hyeju, who sat up and opened her arms slightly, allowing her to come closer.

Chaewon ran into the other one's lap and hugged her, feeling her head rest on the shoulder for a few seconds. Hyeju pulled back slightly and held Chaewon's face with both hands. What a lovely view, Hyeju thought to herself, feeling lucky. Then, gently touching her cheeks with her thumbs, broughting their faces closer and giving what the blonde one desired: A soft kiss on the lips.

With a sense of duty accomplished, Chaewon walked away and happily headed towards the door.

“Love you. Good night!” Sounded excited, turning the doorknob and turning off the light.

“I love you too. And please, don't forget to not slam the door aga-” The door slammed, interrupting her. “...in.”

She let out a sigh and turned around to rest her head on the pillow again, finally being able to have her well-deserved sleep.

This time, Chaewon was careful when closing the door, returning to their hotel bedroom one hour later. Now at that late night hour she really could end up disturbing someone in the room next to theirs. In fact, she wasn't that sleepy yet, Chaewon just took advantage of the others going to sleep to see if she could still see Hyeju awake, which didn't work out very well. She stopped in front of the bed, watching the other sleep deeply. Hyeju was lying on her back with one arm stretched out and her other hand on her belly, her head tilted slightly to the side. Despite the position, she wasn’t snoring, just sleeping peacefully after a long day of work. Adorable, in Chaewon’s eyes.

She approached the bed, being careful to not trip over some clothes scattered on the floor (of her own, obviously). She crawled cautiously to her side, pulling the blanket and sliding under it, settling into the comfort of the sheets. Noticing that Hyeju was only covered up to just below her chest, she couldn't pull the blanket all the way to her head as usual, so her solution was to nestle beside the brunette to keep warm. She knew that Hyeju hated physical touch without her permission, so she just rested her head on the other’s shoulder and placed her arm slightly over hers, just enough to avoid bothering the girl. At least that's what she thought at that moment.

Well, what harm could it do? Hyeju was trying to change this behavior and adapt her touch sensibility to feel less stressed, she wouldn't even notice... And after all, Chaewon came looking for cuddles.

She closed her eyes, waiting for sleep to come. The comfort and the cool temperature helped, and soon she was yawning, falling asleep faster than she expected.

In the middle of the night, Hyeju woke up feeling uncomfortable. Her arm was tingling and her chest felt heavy. The girl rubbed her eyes with her free hand, opening them to try to figure out what had happened to her. Finally being able to take a glance, she felt astonished seeing that 50% of her body was being used as a human pillow by her girlfriend, who had practically climbed on top of it.

Hyeju didn't knew what to do. She felt Chaewon's heavy breath near her neck, Indicating that she was probably having her 11th dream of the night, and didn’t want to wake her up. On the other side, she could barely feel her own arm because of the weight against it. And as if things couldn’t get worse, she was feeling suffocated from not thinking that this would happen beforehand.

She took a deep breath and gently pushed the blonde down a little, stretching to at least pull her arm. A failed attempt, since she only managed to remove it partially. Well, at least it relieved a little, she thought. She closed her eyes, doing the best to hold back the feeling and try to sleep. Eventually it would work, keeping that optimistic thought in mind while trying to just forget about it. It wasn't that hard!

Five minutes. Five minutes, not completed — it was only four minutes and twenty-three seconds, she counted. That was the longest Hyeju could hold on before sighing and giving up on the idea. And had still lasted quite a while, she thought. She needed to wake Chaewon up or would have to amputate her arm right there (or later, depending on how long it stayed there).

With a gentle approach, she slightly lifted her upper body with the little freedom she had gained, turning toward Chaewon and holding her face with her hand. Chaewon's head had tilted a bit off her chest and, incredibly, had not woken her. Following the basic steps of waking someone up, she brushed her girlfriend's cheek — not too softly, not violently, but enough to try to wake her.

"Chaewon… Chaewon-unnie, wake up." She whispered to her girlfriend, who didn't answer. "Chaewon… you need to wake up, please… My arm.”

Since the attempt didn’t work, it was time to move on to plan B. She started to gently brush Chaewon’s hair, leaving a few kisses on her face while trying to wake her. It wasn’t usual to be so affectionate like that, so Chaewon would definitely find it strange and wake up immediately. Perfect plan! It wasn't like Hyeju finding Chaewon looking majestic like a princess while she slept helped at all... Of course. She always lied about the other's sleep to playfully embarrass her. But the truth is, if she could, she would spend the entire night rubbing her beloved’s sensitive face. However, at the moment, she was more focused on saving the blood circulation in her arm.

“Chaewon… my love, please, I need you to get up quickly… come on…” She repeated the sentence or similar phrases a few more times, growing more and more anxious with each failed attempt.

Chaewon remained like a stone. And Hyeju knew how to deal with stones. Or at least she thought she did.

Losing a bit of her patience and the care she had shown earlier, Hyeju began shaking Chaewon more roughly, like a cat owner checking if their pet was still alive.

“Chaewon! Wake up, now!” said in an imperative tone.

The action and the raised voice finally made Chaewon wake up, completely dizzy and disoriented, lifting her head with half-closed eyes as she checked her surroundings. Hyeju immediately started to explain herself, realizing she maybe had scared her.

“You fell asleep on my arm, it was hurting. And I was quite sure you were dead.” Chaewon still hadn’t fully understood, but she nodded and finally moved away from Hyeju for a moment, who immediately let out a relieved sigh, moving her previously crushed arm.

Chaewon started to stare at her like a guilty puppy, saying nothing about it. Hyeju changed her position to a more comfortable one, lying on her side and stretching her body. Both stared at each other for a while in silence.

“I'm sorry…” Chaewon said, her voice still drowsy.

“It's okay.” The taller one smiled at her.

But Chaewon wasn't sure about that, so ended up just closing her eyes and focusing on sleeping again. A little distant from the other.

Hyeju noticed her expression and left a sigh, knowing exactly what to do.

“Alright… come here before I change my mind.” The girl continued, opening her arm, allowing Chaewon to come closer.

Chaewon opened her eyes and didn't waste any more time, going to her to sleep while being cuddled. Just like her initial plan for that night. Hyeju hugged her from behind while the other snuggled into her arms, this time in a position that wouldn’t bother the taller one. Hyeju moved closer to Chaewon’s back, resting the tip of her nose on the blonde’s neck.

“I like to be the little spoon.” Said in a victorious tone.

“Actually, it's your only option…” Hyeju replied.

“That's exactly why.” She said happily, swaying a little to get comfortable on the pillow. Chaewon remained silent for a bit, until she broke the silence again. “Did you know that I dreamed of you calling me ‘my love’?”

Hyeju choked.

“Certainly a dream. This will never happen.”

“For sure. Nighty night, Hyeju.” She said lovingly.

Chaewon finally closed her eyes, letting Hyeju go back to her sleep. But the other one just stayed quiet for quite some time. Smiling weakly, she let a small kiss on her nape.

“Good night, my love.”
