Mai is like an animal. For Naru, she is.
However, it is not because of the fact that she sleeps almost all day, although that is a clear sign.
Or that she has an instinct that shows it. Another clue.
Nor is it because of her eyes so huge and expressive or her so protective attitude or how wild she is on many occasions. However, leaving that aside, since Naru would spend all day listing how arguing reasons why Mai is like an animal.
One that is helpless and stupid.
The important thing is that for Naru, she, is like an animal. And she is so for the simple fact that this would explain his desire to protect her. From everything.
From what scares her, from what makes her uncomfortable -except if it is him the cause-, from her sadness, from her loneliness and from many other things. He just wants to caress her, give her his affection and hold her in his arms, while he takes care of her and protects her from everything that could harm her or attempt to do so.
Although he does not show it. That is what he wants because she is his little animal, his cute animal that he loves.
