Regrets

Summary:

Reader has done things they aren't proud of. Sebastian couldn't care less about the things they've done.

Notes:

Self indulgent Sebastian (Pressure) x Reader short one-shot yayayyay. Sorry not sorry if this is cringe, really don't care since I wrote this mainly for myself. Can be read as either romantic or platonic

Work Text:

“So…” Sebastian started, wanting to break the growing tension in the room.

“What’d you even do before you came here? You don’t really seem the type to commit a heinous crime, if I’m being honest.”

You were silent, debating if you wanted to tell him the truth or not.

Eventually, you decided it wasn’t worth keeping in. “I… killed people.”

Sebastian was quiet for a moment. “Really? Is… that it? That’s nothing special. I’ve killed loads of people–”

“Lots of people…” You added, fiddling with the sleeve of your jumpsuit.

“...Who?” Sebastian asked, after another long moment of silence.

“I don’t know. It started off as just one person… But… Once I started, I– I couldn’t stop.”

Sebastian didn’t say anything to that, so you continued.

“It was one man. One bad, bad man. Then people that worked for him… Then his family… The entire time, I was so angry– I… I couldn’t think… all I saw was red– literally. I felt like an animal. And– I was treated like one, too… when people found out about the mess I made.” You looked down at your hands. “I… I regret… what I did…”

“They were bad people. They deserved it.” Sebastian attempted to console you.

You shook your head. “No… they weren’t. Not all of them. Most of them were innocent. Some of them were children. I- I never–” You could feel your throat close up, tears beginning to well in your eyes.

“I… I liked it… I liked taking out my anger on him… on everything he ever cared about and worked for– I-I needed to- I hated him– but now- innocent people are dead and it’s all my fault.”

“Hey. Hey, none of that, stop it.” Sebastian gave you a gentle nudge with his tail.

“You weren’t in your right mind. By the sound of it you were running on instinct, not reason. What you did isn’t your fault.”

“How can you even say that??” You asked, giving him a confused and hurt look. “I did a terrible thing and you’re telling me it wasn’t my fault?? Of course it was my fault! I was the one who did it!”

“Expendable, listen to me.” Sebastian grabbed you by your shoulders, turning you to face him. “It wasn’t your fault. I don’t give a rat's ass about whatever excuse you have. In my eyes, what happened wasn’t your fault.”

You stared at him for a moment, before huffing. “Stupid…” You mumbled, slumping against him. “I think you’re blind.”

Sebastian chuckled, “Yeah, yeah. Whatever you wanna tell yourself, kid.”
