Masamune looked out the window knowing nothing changed. It's still freezing outside like it's been for 2 years. Him being bored decided to look around outside. If it was still cold then the water would still be frozen over. Which means he could skate on a pond. Masamune hopped in the car and went to Mutsumi’s house.
Masamune knocked on the door. “Coming!” She opened the door. “Hi Masamune,” she greeted. “Hi.” “I saw that there's a pond near your house, and I wanted to ask if you wanted to go skating with me?* “Sure, we could go to the store and look for ice skates, then go skating,” she planned. “Sounds good to me.” They hopped in the car and drove to a convenience store.
They look all over the convenience store finally finding ice skates. “This is pretty expensive,” Masamune sighed. “Maybe we could make our own?” “Yeah we could use rules and hot glue.” Masamune bought the rulers, while Mutsumi bought the hot glue. They drove back to Mutsumi’s house and hot glued the rules to the shoes.
They walked to the pond close to her house. “Are you sure this will work Masamune,” she asked. “Not at all but let's try it out anyway.” They put on the shoes, but the rulers snapped right away. “Damn it.” “I don't get why you thought this would work,” Mutsumi giggled. He sat on the snowy ground. She sat next to him. “Even if we aren't alive you make me feel alive, and that's why I love you so much,” Mutsumi said.
Masamune put his arm around her. “I love you too.” “Masamune.” “Yes?” “What do you think Itsumi is doing right now?” “I hope her parents in reality found her… I know what we did was the best for her but sometimes,” her voice cracked “it feels like it was the worst choice.” “It’s cruel to keep her prisoner here,” he said. “Trust me if we could see her in reality I would, but we just can't,” he added. “Do you think she'll remember us?” “Of course she will.” Mutsumi started tearing up.
Masamune hugged Mutsumi while she cried. “I like our world, but I wish we could at least visit Itsumi in reality.” Hopefully one day we can see her. Until then we will think about Itsumi everyday, just hoping she's alright out there.
