Work Text:
Drops of sweat roll in the valley between your chest. The taste salty on my tongue, but the aftertaste of yours always left me breathless. Your bust heaves, breath heavy.
In a land of romance, you're the truth I seek.
I seek,
on the tip of your fingers, the corner of your lips, the crook of your neck that carries your essence within.
I roam,
on your every curve, strands of hair, inches of skin that shivers shyly yet leans into me.
O divine creation, when will you stop inviting me in?
By your every breath, every hum, every touch. Your hands tender on my back, though under you it tenses. Your nails grazing light, soft tickles like a mockery to scratches made before.
My sweet darling, let's seal our vow now, only then will I accept your invitation. How you push me closer as I do your neck. Encouraging. Always. Giving me more space to work with.
Ah, painters don't only work with one kind of canvas, do they?
Your grip firm on my shoulder. I know, there, the evidence of my years of swimming had almost been defeated by weaknesses I have in land. Still, I will take you to the sea next time. I will teach you techniques in case you need to win a tag with little baby whales. Or if you want an exceptionally chubby fish for our dinner. Maybe that way I'll also regain my physique. But that can wait, always can wait. The world can wait while I have you.
How your body sings. Your eyes clouds as they're staring at me. Soft sighs escape your lips. Maybe a storm is brewing. Outside, a thunder roars. The lightning highlights your features just right. Even they know . Neither of us flinch. Not when knowing nothing could compare to the weight of us, of this, of now. I search in your eyes. For answers. For the certainty of my wonders. Will a thunder thump my heartbeat? I hitch with anticipation. Instead, a kiss landed on my forehead. Coated with such tenderness it almost melts me away. Darl, you sure have your way. I have been put in a precarious state. You caused it. I avoided your gaze. I draw on straight to your delicate lips. I daresay, if I spare even a glance to those eyes—twinkling moonlight, clear, shiny as pearls, my whole existence would give away. Don't you know how weak I am? To your affection, your soft kisses?
You taste just right. Just perfect. Maybe I should be embarrassed by how ragged I got with nothing but this, but I'm too far gone for shame. Too far gone for dignity that should be upheld, and my own fears. Tonight, I am but a man with his wants. His desires and longing collide. Lay bare, vulnerable in front of you. Hoping for your sweet kindness to soothe my turmoil. My own storm.
So, hear my plea.
Repulse my doubts.
Embrace me—as if tomorrow will never come.
Hold me, tightly.
Share your warmth with me.
Sing to me.
Guide me,
towards the light with your radiant, bright, beautiful smile.
Please.
Please, don’t ever, ever let me sink again.
Only you.
You, the Sea God’s Bride.
The One Destined.
My Beloved.
My Goddess.
My temple.
Take me. Don’t hold back. Take me.
Take me with you.
