The dice of hatred

Summary:

To release my frustration, I decided to write out exactly how I feel I would react if I had been in the pla e of the player character when the dice roll lands on Hate. As I had to reload FOUR FUCKING TIMES because it kept landing on hate EVEN THOUGH I NEVER CHEATED DURING THE GAMES 😤😤😤

Anyway, this is my frustration release

Work Text:

You waited with baited breath. Teeth gnawing nervously at your lower lip and heart pounding in your chest. Your eyes were glued to Chance's hands. Unable to look away. It was the moment of truth. Er, well, moment of "fate" as Parker claimed. Relying on dice to decide his feeling for you honestly hurt a little. But you were positive! You'd been flirty during the games, sure. But not once had you cheated! Surely the dice would roll in your favor-

"It's... Oh dear." Chance said, a grim look over taking his face. Your heart sunk at his words. Your eyes on the dice that rolled that treacherous 'hate'. Everything came crashing down around you. And you barely heard Parker's words as he spoke. At least, that is until he said the words you dreaded most hearing.

"Hate! It's hate! I knew it!" Your throat closed up and your eyes burned. "Oh I never should have trusted you!"

"Dude, I'm not anything to you." Chance murmured in confusion.

"Not you, you dimwit. The human. What a tragedy because they never cheated." Parker hummed nonchalantly.

You couldn't think. Couldn't reply. Couldn't even move . But tears swelled in your eyes, your lower lip trembling until your emotions flooded out.

The tears rolled hotly down your cheeks as you looked at Parker in pain. Your heart breaking, shattering into pieces. He's really letting the dice decide his feelings for you? You felt torn. You loved him. You'd fallen for him so easily over the time you'd spent playing games with him. This wasn't fair! You hated him for allowing the dice to dictate how he felt. But you still yearned for his love. To know what it felt like to be held by him. To feel his soft lips against yours.

But now you would never know. All because of a stupid rule he'd made for himself. All because of a stupid pair of dice. You stood, the tears still streaming down your face.

Chance gives a confused look to Parker and a a orrisd one to you. "I'm...gonna go."

"Go! Leave us to stew in our hatred."

Before Chance has the opportunity to leave, you force yourself to speak. Your voice cracking with every matching break of your heart. "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you!" You shouted as if trying to convince yourself. A hand over your chest, trying to keep it from falling apart, as you run out of the attic.
