Chapter Text
~Camp half-blood-
~Third person:
Percy was walking from his cabin to the beach. He just finished a quest for the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy Athena. The purpose of the quest was so that he could prove that he was worthy of proposing to her daughter, Annabeth Chase. The reason why he needed to do this was because Perseus Jackson(Percy to his friends) was the son of Poseidon. And Poseidon, and Athena has had a rivalry stretching back to the formation of Athens. The quest Percy went on was the 10 labors(+2) of Heracles(Hercules is the bootleg Roman version). Percy had finally returned home from completing all 12 labors. In his pocket was a velvet box. And in that box contained a custom-made, owl ring that he was planning on using to propose with. When Percy reached the beach, he saw some thing that would break him to his very core.
"Come on Annabeth why are you still hanging around with that loser? We've been dating for what, three weeks now."
Said a man identified as Mark Papadakis, Percy Jackson's half brother. Who had showed up one month ago and slowly turned the entire camp against Percy. With an ego that can match Zeus, with none of the powers to back it up.
"I mean, it does feel a little wrong, considering he did jump into Tartarus for me. But he's not the man who jumped into Tartarus anymore." Said a prideful Annabeth.
When Percy heard that he was hurt, but he was not prepared to see what happened next. When all of a sudden, Annabeth began to make out with Mark. Percy felt nothing but betrayal, anguish, heartbreak, and pure rage.
Within seconds the entire day of camp, half blood was covered in thick, black clouds. The tide began to ride and crashed against the shoreline. As the ground begins to quake. When all of a sudden, a large wave crashes on top of Annabeth and Mark, dragging them to the other side of the bay. As the waves whipped up, destroying the beach eroding all the way to the loose dirt and soil. As entire ground began to shock with a magnitude 4 earthquake. As the entire camp begins to be covered in a torrential downpour, unlike any of the campers ever seen.
In the main area of the camp, all the campers rushed out of their cabins and any structures they were in. Straight into the rain to avoid injury from the earthquake. The earthquake rocked the entire camp. And then one swift action, both the Poseidon and Athena cabins were leveled from the earthquake. But all the other structures remain standing.
At the beach, the only thing that remained was a small sand island where Percy was standing. When Percy drops the velvet box onto the mini island that he made. He makes a whistle sound as a large, black dog the size of a garbage truck appears from the shadows at the tree line. Percy just looks at his friend, a gift from the son of Athena, Daedalus, for him to take care of. "Mrs. O'Leary, take me too New Rome." Percy said it has nothing but tears ran down his face as he climbs onto the back of his trusted Hellhound. As the hell hound jumps into the shadow of a nearby tree, vanishing entirely into shadow.
~Olympus-
In the throne room of the Olympians The standard routine start of the month meeting was taking place. Things have gotten relatively boring since The god of the sun, the muses, prophecies, and archery, Apollo regained his godhood after defeating the Roman emperors of old and freeing all oracles(note for this alternate reality, Jason did not die during the trials of Apollo). The meeting was about to wrap up when all of a sudden, the goddess of sexual love and beauty(and war, if your Spartan), Aphrodite put one hand over her chest and another tour temple as she begins to have a panic attack and a headache at the same time.
With her gasping for air and tears streaming down her face, all the Olympians notice and try to help her. With Apollo nearly flying across the throne room to try to aid her with what's going on.
"Hear... Heartbreak.... Betrayal.... Anguish... Pain... I've... I've never felt anything... anything like this before. Nothing to this extreme." Aphrodite said, trying to compose herself through the gasping panic attack.
Almost following that all the gods feel as if something is wrong. As both Poseidon and Athena stand up and simultaneously shouted, "What in Tartarus happened to my cabin!?"
"Hermes, camp half-blood now." Zeus thundered as Hermes flashed(essentially teleportation) out of the throne room. A few moments later, and Hermes return to the throne room.
"Hermes what did you find?" Zeus asked, as Aphrodite is finally re-teaching herself how to breathe.
"Camp is a mess. The only things in tact were the big house, the Aries cabin, the Artemis cabin, the Hades cabin, the Iris cabin, and bunker 9. The Athena cabin and the Poseidon cabin are completely leveled. The training course, and the arena are also leveled. And everything else has varying levels of shock damage. There's a handful of minor injuries on a lot of the Athena campers and the Hephaestus campers. The shoreline is completely destroyed in the bay. All the way to the tree line. The only thing that wasn't completely washed to see was a small island that used to be a beach. On that island, maybe 3 feet crossed. I saw a pair of shoe prints and this velvet box." Hermes said, while holding up the velvet box containing the engagement ring.
It was at this moment Aphrodite finally speaks up with her hand on her mouth, with a very saddened expression, "Annabeth.... Cheated." Athena in almost disbelief shouts' "You're lying you have to be. There's no way she would!" Aphrodite just looked at Athena with a very sad expression with tears running down her face. "I'm sorry Athena. I know the truth when it comes to relationships. And this was the greatest relationship I've ever seen. I would never lie about something that serious when it comes to this relationship. Your daughter broke the heart of the most perfect boyfriend to ever walk the Earth. And I don't even think she knows she did it."
Athena looks distraught that Annabeth would ever do anything like this. Athena might've been heartless, but only to those who didn't earn her respect. And after everything Perseus did to prove his love, Athena was no longer heartless to that child of Poseidon.
On her throne, the goddess of the moon, childbirth, the hunt, and maidens, Lady Artemis couldn't help, but feel distraught and a little bit of sympathy towards Perseus. She knew that he was the only good man she has ever met. The only one she would ever considered asking if he would join the hunt. Especially what happened with his half brother two millennia ago. And she was distraught that a maiden could ever break The heart of a man so pure. She almost felt angry, that a man like that had his heart ripped to shreds by a prideful maiden that reminded her of all the men she's ever encountered.
Eventually, Poseidon asked the tragic question, "Hermes where is my son? Where is Percy?" Hermes held his head in shame as he said, "I don't know. I couldn't find him anywhere at camp." Poseidon slumped down in his throne, trying to hold back tears, knowing that his favorite son was missing.
Zeus, looking almost somber at the disappearance of the nephew that pissed him off to no end decreed, "Aries go to Camp Jupiter as Mars and see if you can find Percy there. Hades, keep an eye on the underworld, inform us if he ever shows up. Hera, please check in with Amazons see if he went there. Artemis, check the wild and look for him make sure to visit his mothers place in Manhattan and Montauk. Poseidon, make sure that you stay near Atlantis in case he went there. As much as I hate to say it, we need to find Perseus. We don't need him falling into the wrong hands. Unless anyone else wants to add to the conversation, I believe this Council is adjourned."
And with that all 14 Olympians Flashout of the third room. Hoping to try to find Percy. With Artemis being the last flashback to the hunt, knowing that Thalia(daughter of Zeus, and her lieutenant) will be devastated.
