Work Text:

„Hey, Kats…“ The other man hummed softly, his hands tracing nonsense patterns on Eijirou’s back.

“Have you… have you ever thought about… coming out?” The hand on his back stilled. Eijirou could feel the tension running through Katsuki.

“I’m out to my fucking parents. What the fuck do you want from me.” Eijirou suppressed a soft sigh.

“I know, that’s not… I didn’t mean you individually, more… us. Y’know. Being a couple.” The silence seemed to stretch endlessly as Katsuki’s hand still rested against his back, but without any movement or even pressure.

“Why?” Eijirou swallowed. He knew that would be the question. He had prepared for the answer.

“Because I love you and… and I want people to know. I want to be able to hold your hand when we’re outside. I want to be able to put my arm around you in public. I- I want to kiss you when we win a game, and I want nothing more than to celebrate with you.” He stuttered on that last part, trying to catch Katsuki’s eye. But the blonde refused to lift his head from where it was resting against his chest.

“There will be assholes. You know that.” He finally said, his voice rough. Kirishima tightened his arms around him, pulling him close.

“I know. There will always be. But I’m not afraid of them, not as long as I have you. And there will be just as many people who’ll be totally fine with it. I’m sure about that. Our friends would never think badly off us and who cares what some bigoted stranger thinks.”

Katsuki would always proclaim that he didn’t care what people thought, but Eijirou knew the total opposite to be true. Katsuki cared. A lot. He cared when people saw preconceived notions instead of his actual accomplishments. He hated that people saw his tattoos and piercings and thought he was a delinquent when in truth, he had some of the best grades in the whole University.

He knew that this would be another thing box people would shove him in to. The Gay Guy. But Eijirou hoped that together, they could walk past all that.

“What if you get kicked off the team?” Somehow this question was even quieter than the last. Eijirou blinked. He had never even thought about that. But…

“I don’t want to be on a team that can’t love me the way I am. Those guys… they’re not just my teammates. They’re my friends. And they should be my friends, no matter who I date. If they can’t… Then I don’t think that’s the right team for me.” He didn’t think it would happen. His guys were cool. Denki and Hanta were the sweetest doofuses ever and even a macho guy like TetsuTetsu would never look down on him, he was sure of that. Coach Sekijiro was tough but fair and he’d never kick Eijirou off the team for something outside the field.

Finally, finally Katsuki looked up at him. His red eyes were hard and shining and Eijirou found himself falling in love all over again.

“You want it that bad?” he said and Eijirou nodded. Katsuki huffed and closed his eyes.

“Fine. If you get named MVP tomorrow, I’ll kiss you in front of the whole fucking stadium. Celebrate your Victory or whatever.” Eijirou blushed.

“Kats, what… really? Man, you never make it easy…” he groaned, and Katsuki cackled.

“Yeah, but you fucking knew that when you asked me out, Shitty Hair.” And Eijirou grinned and kissed him, because, yeah, he absolutely did. Katsuki lived for the challenge, the earned win. He gave a lot, but he demanded work. And yet, Eijirou never felt taken advantage of. In fact, it often felt like Katsuki demanded work that would mainly benefit Eijirou instead of Katsuki. His way of giving was sometimes hard and brutal, but he always made sure that Eijirou knew how much he loved him.

“Well, guess I’ll just have to be the manliest man out there tomorrow.” He sniffed and Katsuki rolled his eyes and swatted at his arm for the corny phrase only to pull him back in for more kisses and aonther heated make out session.

The blood roared in Eijirou’s ears. Between five Mauls and four Scrums he was exhausted, but the Adrenalin was pumping through him. He had given it everything, every time, had thrown Denki into the Air for three lineouts and now they were seconds away from the end. He saw Hanta run from the side and tackled the opposing player that tried to intercept him, saw him running past and…

“TRY!” Eijirou threw his arms in the air, just as the timer ran out. His team screamed in delight, piling onto each other and yelling at the top of their lungs. Hanta was hoisted into the air and carried around on their shoulders and Eijirou laughed until he was in tears because honestly his whole body ran on pure Adrenaline still. He looked to the side – and there he stood. Right next to the field, his blond hair ruffled by the wind, wearing Eijirou’s fucking Jersey Jacket.

Katsuki raised his hand and crooked a finger.

Eijirou didn’t even think as he broke from his team, running pell-mell over the field towards him, vaulting the banister with ease. Katsuki stepped back just enough to let him, before slamming into him and kissing him right on the mouth.

The world seemed to fall away, nothing but those sweet caramel lips existed as he kissed him back, holding him tight, lifting him off the ground.

Gradually, he became aware of some hooting and hollering behind him and for a moment, fear gripped his heart. But then he heard:

“Man, about time!”

“Oh, get a room!”

“Hey Blondie, no stealing our Prop!”

The same phrases he heard often enough when TetsuTetsu kissed Kendo after a game. He felt Katsuki’s arm move and didn’t even need to look to know that he had given the entire team the middle finger, causing raucous laughter to erupt from them.

“Damn, he feisty!”

“Bet Red’s whipped for him!”

Kirishima grinned and looked down on Katsuki.

“But they didn’t announce the MVP yet.” He mused and Katsuki grinned back.

“I said you had to be named MVP. Never said it had to be your coach who did the fucking naming.” He kissed Eijirou again and Eijirou was met with one of his rare, true smiles.

“I fucking say you’re the MVP and that should be more than enough.”

Eijirou groaned and let his head fall on Katsuki’s shoulder.

“Fuck, Kats… you can’t say stuff like that… and wear my Jacket… your way to sexy and awesome like this…” Katsuki laughed in his ear, buffing him on the shoulder.

“Well, I suggest to take your shower quick then, so we can celebrate your Victory, hm?”

And Eijirou reluctantly let go, jogging away to the showers were people were clapping him on the back and congratulating him. And he was happier than he had ever been to know that someone as amazing as Katsuki Bakugo would stand at his side, proud and loud and always, always his.

Notes:

Okay, babes, Cards on the table: I don't know the first thing about Rugby Union. Why did I choose this sport then?
1. I don't know shit about _most_ Sports, this was as good as any
2. Felt like a Sport that fit Kirishima

In preparation for this Fic, i did watch a "Rugby Union for dummies" video, which is why I now know what a scrum and a maul and a lineout are. I have no idea, however, if the amount of them that I have given in this fic makes any sense for an actual game.
But to me, Sero and Dneki make the most sense as the WIngs, since they are apparently more agile and fast and they score the most Try's, which is why I gave the last one to Sero, and Kirishima is one of the Props, since that is the position that seems to require the most stregth.

I there are any Rugby Union fans reading this, I am sorry, and I hope I didn't blunder this too hard.
