Work Text:

I looked up and sat up a little more properly as I woke up, I’d taken a nap since Seongje was playing his boring games at the gaming cafe again and I was basically stuck here dying of boredom. I mean, usually I’d just go on my phone and eat a bunch of random snacks which was a pretty good way to use my time, if I say so myself, but today we were meant to go to the arcade and play a bunch of games or whatever.

Which was exactly why I was starting to get really pissed, he said he’d just play a few games then we’d go to the arcade but it’d been 2 hours already and it’s not like he had any union shit to deal with today either.

I moved my chair which was right next to his a little back, and I then raised my leg, putting my shoe on the edge of his chair to push it back and get his attention, “Let’s go to the arcade now, c’mon.” I said in an impatient tone. “Just wait, one more game, ah fuck!” He said as he glided his chair back not wavering his focus on the game as he almost lost or something. Not like I cared. “You asshole, it’s been 2 hours!” I said, pushing his chair from the edge with my shoe again, this time harder.

“It’s not even that late, we’ll go later.” He said, not even moving his eyes away from the screen, wow, addicted much? I thought as I got up and started to walk towards the door, not really knowing where I was going, just annoyed, and upset. Why’d he have to make me feel like this? “Whatever, fuck you, jerk, asshole.” I said before walking out. Fuck him and fuck his stupid game.

I put my hand into my pocket in search of my phone, when I realized it wasn’t there. I’d left it there, it was in my bag which I, well, left there too. I couldn’t even go anywhere now, I mean, imagine sitting and just staring at the wall. I’d look so stupid and weird, so I was stuck walking around and looking at shops, and I couldn’t even call any of my friends to come here.

I continued walking as I realized how cold it was, well, whatever, it wasn’t that bad and I was on my way to a convenience store nearby so I could deal with it till then. Damn, I was hungry. I hadn’t eaten since school and it was like 6pm right now.

I continued walking when suddenly someone’s arms wrapped around me, hugging me from behind. “I’m sorry, c’mon, let’s go back.” I heard Seongje’s voice from behind me, speaking in a voice that actually somehow sounded sorry and guilty. After hearing him sounding like that, I guess forgiving people, more specifically him, might’ve been way easier than I thought.

“Shut up, you asshole, I’m not going back, go away.” I said, still sounding kinda angry but mostly disinterested because that’s what I truly was right now. I may have forgiven him secretly but I still didn’t wanna go back to the gaming cafe, I was so, very sick of it. I was hungry too.

“Why not, c’mon, where are you going anyways?” He said in a whiny, childish tone. He still had his arms wrapped around me, his head on my shoulder, which was totally an uncomfortable position to walk in for him but it’s not like I was forcing him to. I mean, I guess I didn’t want him to pull away either.

I suddenly felt something pattering on the floor, around us, and on me too. Was it raining? As I looked closer ahead of me I then quickly realized it wasn’t raining at all, it was snowing. I froze a little when I came to that realization, I mean, yeah it’d be expected with how cold it’s been but the stuff me and him were wearing was definitely not fit for snow and if we stayed outside for a bit longer we were gonna end up sick.

I mean, we were only wearing our school uniforms, not even hoodies on top. I suddenly felt Seongje push against me a bit as he turned me to the left, guiding my steps as he took us into a shop quickly. His arms were still around me and his head still resting on my shoulder but when we got into the shop he let his arms fall off of me and pulled away.

I then realized we were at the convenience store, did he like read my mind or something, and as much as I wanted him to keep hugging me it’d be embarrassing with the cashier staring at us, and it’d be hard to get anything too so I wasn’t that disappointed, I guess.

He walked off somewhere so I went to get us drinks from the back, walking towards the refrigerators and grabbing two drinks. Sprite for me, and Coke for him. I was walking back to the front of the store when he suddenly appeared in front of me, holding two cup noodles. “I got the noodles.” He said with a smile, looking proud of himself.

It was kinda cute, it was as if he thought he was making up for being an asshole earlier and I could see it in the way he was waiting for me to approve of what he’d done or something. I just smiled a bit at him as I kept walking towards the cashier and handed the drinks to her, Seongje handing the noodles and quickly paying as he looked at me again, with that same look.

We then made the noodles and sat down, obviously in the seating tables inside the store since it was snowing. Seongje suddenly spoke, right after swallowing the noodles in his mouth, “We’ll take a cab home.” He said as he continued eating, “And I’ll take you to the arcade tomorrow.”

“Yeah, okay.” I said as I continued eating, before smiling at him to which he quickly smiled back, looking somehow like a puppy or something, happy since he realized it was all alright again now.
