Chapter 1: Taking care of a rebel cat

Chapter Text

Cipher gets sick and Phainon is there to take care of her like a good friend would.

The flu arrived to Amphoreus and started to spread for all the inhabitants of Okhlema, not even Aglaea's attempts stopped the spread of the disease, some Flame Chasers fell ill, Aglaea fell ill and was being cared for by Anaxa, Mydei by Castorice, Tribbie, Trinon and Trianne were cared by Hyacine. It was Phainon's turn to take care of the fleet-footed cat, he saw a perfect opportunity to know more about Cipher.

Phainon arrived at Cipher's house, a small cabin away from Amphoreus, away to escape and hide after doing mischief.

There she was laying down on a small couch,Stuck to her sheets and with a box of cloths to wipe her snot after sneezing, Her eyes seemed lost and unfocused, and her mind clouded because he had not noticed Phainon's presence.Cipher wore a white robe with long sleeves to try to calm the chills she was suffering from.

Phainon was touched to see Cipher this way, weak and docile and not the way he always saw her, confident and mischievous, it made him want to cuddle her as she looked like a poor needy child. He sat down near the couch and placed Cipher's head in his lap, he played with her hair. Phainon's caresses painted the cat's cheeks a pink, similar to the blush Aglaea and Cerydra wore.

The cat's belly began to demand food, and Phainon, noticing this, got up to cook her some soup. The soup that her friend Cyrene had taught him in him childhood in the Aedes Elysiae. A few minutes passed until the soup was ready to be tasted, Phainon went to the couch where the dying cat was resting, sat down and putting Cipher on her lap, she placed her head on his shoulders. Phainon took a spoonful of soup and cooled it by blowing on it to avoid burning her tongue, The spoon traveled to the hungry Cipher's lips.

Phainon noticed that Cipher's temperature had risen, so he decided to go and bathe her, an attempt to lower her fever.

He carried her in his arms and looked for the bath, when they arrived Cipher tried to escape because of her fear of water, but her legs did not move. Phainon washed Cipher's hair gently, and massaged her face to refresh her, his hands washed her whole body until her fever was down, dried her and laid her on her bed. He lay down nearby to fulfill whatever the sick woman wanted, although it was hard to admit, Cipher enjoyed that day, he enjoyed that someone else besides Aglaea cared about it even if it was only for this sick woman.
