Work Text:
Sasuke arrives at the field at precisely seven in the morning, like they had agreed the day before. The place is empty, though. Sakura and Naruto constantly used their sensei's tardiness as an excuse to sleep in or to spend more time getting ready.
Sasuke didn't mind the absence of his teammates; he appreciated the time to train. He usually warmed up, doing some exercise to prepare his body for the day.
By eight, Sasuke felt thoroughly awake and ready to face the trials of the day. He sat down and tried to calm his mind and breathing. Sakura arrived shortly after he began his sort of meditation. She too sat down and began to daydream about the love of her life and the cool things they must be doing. Naruto arrived ten minutes later.
Naruto lay down immediately when he joined the other members of Team Seven. They waited patiently, and then not so patiently, for Kakashi to arrive.
"Sorry, I'm late, guys. I was lost on a journey of the soul." Kakashi popped into existence, finally, about two hours later than originally agreed.
"What does that even mean, Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto sounded annoyed as he asked the older man. He peeled himself off the ground and stretched, getting ready for whatever they would deal with that day.
"You needn't worry about it, young disciple," —Naruto frowned at this— "today we have a very important mission." It was at that point that the rest of Team 7 knew that the mission was not, in fact, important. "We get to retrieve intelligence from an unguarded facility a day's walk from here!" Kakashi said with all the enthusiasm he could muster.
"And this place is unguarded because...?" Sasuke asked as he pulled himself up from the ground. The teens were all standing now, facing Kakashi and listening to the details of the mission.
"Because it's one of Konoha's facilities! Isn't that just so convenient?"
"Yeah," Sakura said, "So convenient."
"Enough chit-chatting, let's get on with it."
Team Seven left the village with the sun casting long shadows to their left. The forest around them seemed active as squirrels jumped from tree to tree and foxes chased their shadows.
Naruto yawned as they walked on, and Sasuke appreciated the quiet that he was sure would end soon. And, just as he'd predicted, a few minutes later, Naruto was energized and ready to disturb whatever peace was around.
"Man, it's been a while since we've been out of the village." He said, quite loudly, as he stretched his arms behind his head.
"Yeah, it's kind of nice to leave it all behind sometimes," Sakura agreed. Sasuke internally cursed about Sakura deciding that today would be a good day to be friendly with Naruto. Sasuke was already mourning his peace of mind; one day, he's feeling good, and Naruto and Sakura have to ruin it.
"What super secret, possibly deadly, information do you think we're retrieving today, guys?"
"The document just shows where a medicinal herb can be found," Kakashi said, raining on Naruto's fun.
"You're no fun, Kakashi-sensei."
"Don't be rude, Naruto!"
"Sorry, Sakura-chan," Naruto said with his head hung low, complaining and muttering under his breath from being scolded by Sakura.
Naruto's whining is suddenly interrupted when a squeak sneaks past Sasuke's lips, ringing out into the air loudly. The raven freezes up and looks around himself, noticing that everyone else has stopped walking now too, their eyes set on him and their faces hard and sober. Sasuke shrugs his shoulders in an unspoken and confused apology, his mouth desperately trying to form an excuse for the abrupt squeal.
"Sasuke's got hiccups!" Naruto suddenly snaps out of his stone-faced facade and confronts the ninja. "Sasuke's got actual hiccups!"
"No, I don—hueeck!" Sasuke is quick to defend himself, yet his body betrays him in the worst possible way—by making him slip up and hiccup. "I—I..."
A few moments of deadly silence pass before everyone bursts out laughing again. He can't help but feel embarrassed by them. Hiccups aren't that big of a deal, right?
"Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has hiccups!"
Sasuke hiccups again, causing another wave of laughter to wash over the group.
"Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has hiccups!"
"Naruto! Stop it!" Sakura yells, trying to stop the blond teasing even while she's smiling.
"Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has—"
"Naruto, calm down, I-it's nothing special to have hiccups!"
The voices of Naruto yelling and Sakura yelling over him to try and shut him up mash together into one large shouting mess, which makes Sasuke blush immensely. Kakashi stands to the side with a thoroughly amused look on his face, which ends up only making it harder for Sasuke to stop getting flustered.
"Sasuke has hiccups! Sasuke has hiccups!" Naruto continues belting out the chant.
"Hey, don't worry, Sasuke. We'll find a way to get rid of the hiccups, okay?" Kakashi finally speaks up. His eyes still focused on Kakashi's face, he can notice the expressions the others are giving him, but the mischievously determined look on his mentor's face is more than enough to get Sasuke worried for his existence.
Sasuke only nods, afraid he'll hiccup again if he speaks. Sasuke ends up squeaking again anyway. The blush on his face deepens to a cherry red. Sasuke tries his best to squeeze all the bits of embarrassment out of his body, though he fails desperately.
"Knock it off! We've got something better to do!" Sakura's call seems to quiet Naruto finally, though the matter is sure to be brought up again sometime later, or so Sasuke predicts.
"Alright! Today's side mission is to get Sasuke's hiccups to go away!" Kakashi clasps his hands together in delight, distantly, Sasuke thinks he can hear Naruto and Sakura yell something; unfortunately, he's too busy wondering what he'd gotten himself into to hear them properly.
Attempt one: Water
They'd slowed down and decided to pause near a lake for now.
"First things first," Kakashi starts, "Why don't we try water? Maybe the solution is simple."
Sasuke internally sighs,
It never is.
Of course, after Sasuke refills his jug and slowly takes a sip, praying to kami that'll rid him of his hiccups, all the while his team watches him intently, all this sudden attention is making him uncomfortable.
He pulls the jug away from his lips. It's silent for a few moments. Everyone is trying to gauge if it worked. When a couple of minutes have passed, they deem they've finally gone away, apparently much to Kakashi's dismay as he visibly slumps, the silver-haired man sighs loudly like Sasuke just ruined all his fun.
"Well, I guess they're—"
"Hueck!"
Kakashi smiles again, and Sasuke swallows dryly.
"Alright, team meeting!" Kakashi shouts, overly happy, in Sasuke's opinion.
They all scooch towards him and sit on the ground.
Sighing, the raven rests his head on the palm of his hand, which he is sure his sensei will take as the sign to continue with the meeting. He starts pondering over all the possible methods the others could make him try to get rid of the annoying hiccups and how he could avoid them, but nothing specific comes to mind. He doesn't trust Naruto or Sakura curing something like this, though Kakashi will give him no choice.
He feels truly horrible as he hiccups again. The sensation in his throat is under the control of something other than his brain, making it seem as if everything in his body wants to make him suffer.
"Does everyone understand?" Kakashi wraps up his speech already, and Sasuke feels like he's missed out on something important, but he lets the warning thoughts slip by his consciousness. The group shows their approval eagerly, with nods and shouts of yes or of course. It's certainly making Sasuke incredibly suspicious.
Attempt Two: Sucking on lemons.
"Try suckin' on this," Naruto stated dryly as he shoved a lemon into Sasuke's hands. Said boy stared at him like he'd grown a second head.
"Why was that in your bag?" Sakura questioned, to which it went unanswered.
"This works for me when I get them, so if it doesn't for you, then it's your fault." Naruto shrugs with his hands shoved in his pockets, turning away suspiciously.
Sasuke thinks it is to hide his smile.
His eyes shift down to the sour fruit. His eyes begin to water at the smell, and he wrinkles his nose.
What's the worst that can happen? He thinks...
"Well? Go on." Kakashi rushes, just as Sasuke lifts the lemon to his mouth and shoves half of it in his mouth. It immediately makes Sasuke cringe from the sourness of it, but he keeps sucking on it.
The taste is far more terrible than the smell—it's sour, and it's hard on his tongue, cutting into each of his senses so hard that Sasuke almost spits it all out. He realises now that it would have been much better to do it all at once.
He pulls it away from his lips when he feels a hiccup forming.
"This isn't working." He drops the lemon on the ground.
Naruto finally looks at him again, a smirk on his face.
"Of course it didn't. I was lying when I said I'd used them." He cackles maniacally.
Sasuke was going to kill him.
"Naruto!" Sakura shouted angrily before punching him on the head. "Don't trick Sasuke-kun like that!"
Sasuke smirks. Maybe it was nice to have fangirls; they did all his dirty work, apparently.
Attempt three: Eating a spoonful of sugar.
Sasuke finds himself suddenly sitting with a large spoonful of sugar in his hand, Sakura placed across from him, with the rest of the team crowded around him.
"Hueeck!"
The hiccup can't be stopped, and after having just reached a point where he could control it better and having told this to his team, a blush covers Sasuke's cheeks again. He feels like the number of times he's blushed today is greater than any other day.
"I don't like sugar."
"What?" Naruto exclaims, "How can you not like sugar? It's so sweet."
It's for that exact reason he doesn't like it.
"I hate sweet things."
His team looks at him like he'd just murdered a baby kitten in front of their eyes.
By his next hiccup, Sasuke's perceptive eyes catch Sakura sending nervous glances to anyone he possibly can, so instead of continuously looking from the spoon to his teammate and observing both of them, he sticks it in his mouth and swallows it down in one gulp. The crystals of sugar are sweet beyond compare, and Sasuke despises the sensation they leave on his tongue immensely.
Sasuke suddenly finds himself in a rough coughing fit, multiple bits of sugar scratching against the inside of his throat. His face turns pale white, a wonderful contrast to the pink of his blush that has almost fully disappeared from his cheeks. With his mouth full of the small crystals and in the middle of talking with his mouth full, hiccupping was not the best idea his body had had. The few bits of sugar that he'd swallowed at the exact moment he hiccupped had gained full access to his trachea, therefore making his throat strain in endless coughs.
Someone ran up behind Sasuke's back the moment he started coughing. After a series of heavy whacks on his back, Sasuke's coughs stopped, and the ninja finally had a chance to breathe normally. He lifted his head to face Sakura's disappointed look.
"I'm so sorry, Sasuke-kun! It worked on me plenty of times, so I thought it might... well..."
"It's—hueeck—fine, Sakura."
Attempt four: Holding your breath.
"This one should be easy enough for you," Kakashi explained unhelpfully,
He was just glad he wasn't being forced to eat something again.
"Whatever," he mumbled.
"So, how long does he have to hold it?" Naruto asked, and Kakashi stared at him before shrugging.
Great.
In the end, they all stood and watched as Sasuke failed to hold his breath for over three minutes because he was constantly interrupted by hiccups.
Attempt five: Hot sauce.
Sasuke offers an exhausted look. "What's next?"
Kakashi swishes around for a minute, turning to rummage through his bag (to which he'd definitely overpacked for such a short mission) before he places a small red bottle without a label on the table in front of Sasuke, who eyes it with suspicion. The food remedy gives him chills—he certainly doesn't want it to end up like the sugar.
"What is—hueeck—this?" Sasuke asks, crossing his arms and eyeing Kakashi, who is smiling enthusiastically, with all the confidence in the world.
"You'll see, Sasuke. Drink up, it'll stop your problem for sure, and then we can continue with our mission!"
Kakashi sounds confident about his remedy, but Sasuke is reluctant to take his word for it, especially because his sensei is so excited. Nonetheless, Sasuke unscrews the lid and swishes the bottle around next to his ear. It doesn't sound any different from water. He brings it to his nose and sniffs. The smell isn't too odd either, mostly fresh and spicy, which Sasuke likes.
Slowly, he lifts the liquid to his mouth, pressing the top to his lips, and gulps down the entirety of the bottle before he can manage to be disturbed by a hiccup again.
"No, Sasuke-kun! Not that much!" Sasuke hears Sakura shout before the bottle is pulled from his hands, but the damage has already been done.
His throat has caught on fire. Sasuke can feel the burning all around the sides of his mouth, on his tongue, and even in his nose. His eyes are tearing up at the spiciness of the sauce he'd just consumed, and in consequence, he can barely say anything. It burns all the way down his throat.
"Wa – wa – hueeck – ter!"
In a few minutes, which seem like hours considering his mouth feels like liquid fire is being poured down it, someone pushes a cold bottle into his hand, and Sasuke chugs down the liquid inside without a moment of hesitation. In the end, he is left with an empty bottle and wide eyes that stare at the empty container in his hand while his team looks at him in complete astonishment.
"Kakashi! You've broken him!"
Attempt six: Handstands
"You have to do a handstand."
"Wh – hueeck – at?"
"It can be a headstand too, but handstands are usually easier. Choose as you wish."
Sasuke resorts to giving Naruto a look of disbelief, doing his best to express both his confusion and disagreement through his ebony eyes. He catches Naruto rolling his eyes in return, something he's so used to nowadays that he ignores it.
"Now, Sasuke, do it." Sasuke finds himself being the next target of his Sensei's attention.
"What?"
"Do a handstand already!"
"B-b – hueeck – I – "
"No excuses, Sasuke. Do it."
Sasuke huffs.
Sasuke stretches out his arms, careful to find the exact moment to turn upside down so his hiccups don't cause even more ruckus and make him topple over. He pushes off, closing his eyes as his arms take hold of the wooden podium and his legs become airborne.
The first thing he feels is immense discomfort with the position he's in. It's tough enough keeping himself up on his arms; he's doing it in his loose blue turtleneck tee, and suddenly becomes nervous it'll slip down. Sasuke senses an unmeasured amount of air bubbling in his throat, making his left arm waver for a short moment, which causes his eyes to open up wide and look at the figures of the gathering crowd hanging from the sky. (or ground, if Sasuke were standing up normally)
His second mistake, not caused completely by his fault, is the hiccup that comes roaring up from his throat at the exact moment his arm dithers for the second time. It's small and screechy, but it's enough to both take Sasuke by surprise and make him tumble over, plunging face-first into the ground.
Silence.
Naruto is the first to break the silence as he bursts out in giggles, holding his stomach as tears spring from the corners of his eyes.
"That was pure comedy gold!" He shouts in between his laughs.
"Sorry, Sasuke, we'll be more careful next time..." Sakura tries, reaching out to help him to his feet, attempting to be helpful as the raven begrudgingly stands and wipes the dirt off his clothes.
"There will – hueeck – not be a next – hueeck – time," Sasuke grumbles.
Attempt seven: Trying vinegar.
"No."
Sasuke had refused to try any more food-related remedies.
Attempt eight: Scaring.
The group had decided to take a momentary pause in their little side quest, and they continued walking towards their destination. Sasuke had taken it upon himself to walk in front of the group; he didn't want to face them while he was still so embarrassed.
The three behind him silently exchanged glances. The genin waited for their sensei to give the signal.
"I've got to use the bathroom." Sasuke suddenly states and walks off into the forest, leaving his team on the clear path. As soon as Kakashi is sure he's out of hearing distance—
"Alright, let's go." They dash into a nearby bush, and Kakashi turns to Naruto.
"You ready?" He questions, to which the blond hums in confirmation and puts his hands together, and suddenly transforms into a suspicious-looking ninja. An older man with almost his entire face covered by a mask, and his leaf band crossed over.
"How do I look?" Naruto asks, his voice notably deeper.
"Perfect. Now we wait."
When Sasuke returns from the forest. He notices his team is gone. Immediately, he activates his Sharingan and reaches for the kunai kept snugly strapped to his thigh. In each direction he looks, he senses nothing.
"Hey there." A voice whispers out from behind him, and Sasuke yelps before jumping far away. He faces the man with his Sharingan activated. He takes note of the ninja's crossed headband.
"What've you done with my team?" He demands,
"Nothin' mean. I swear," the older man gruffs out dryly.
Sasuke jumps to attack the man, who stands completely still and accepts his attacks. He pins the man to the ground, which seems to shock him. Quickly, he brings the kunai up to his neck.
"Where. Are. They." His Sharingan swirls around in his eyes, threatening while pushing the kunai down slowly, hard enough to pierce his neck just slightly, a small drop of blood appears. The man screeches.
"Wait, Sasuke! It's me!"
The man rolls out from under Sasuke before quickly undoing the jitsu.
And there lay Naruto. He paused.
"Naruto?"
"What the hell, Teme?! Were you trying to kill me?!" He screeched, and then Sakura and Kakashi appeared from the bushes.
"We wanted to see if scaring you would work," Sakura explained briefly, guilt crossing over her face.
Sasuke briefly remembers the yelp he let out when he'd heard Naruto creep up behind him and turns his face to hide his blush. He goes to click his tongue in his usual dismissive tone, but instead, a hiccup escapes him.
"hueeck!"
Attempt nine: Tickling.
It's started to get darker already, not to mention the cold creeping in subtly, and he focuses only on his teammates who stand in front of him. A surprise attack, like the commotion with the jump scare, is the last thing he wants. Besides, he's still trying to comprehend how they managed to sneak past him.
"Can you lift your arms, please, Sasuke? Oh, and close your eyes too," Kakashi instructs him. Sasuke, deciding to ignore the irritation for now and probably forever, raises his arms instantly, yet he lets the second command pass his mind a couple of times for him to ponder it well, before Kakashi asks him to close his eyes again.
"Kakashi? Saku– hueeck – ra?" Sasuke calls out into what seems to be an empty field. His hearing isn't all that good, so recognizing footsteps around him would probably result in an overall failure.
"Naruto?" He called out to his last hope.
His arms grow tired from having them lifted all this time, even in the great physical condition he's in, his body's been high stug ever since their last attempt, even with his eyes closed he keeps his body locked, even going as far as to try and stretch them out as far as he can, to lessen the pressure on his muscles that holding them still is causing.
"This — hueeck — isn't funny!" He shouts out again. "I'm opening my — hueeck — eyes!"
Before his lids can lift themselves slowly from his bottom lash line, though, multiple pairs of hands come snapping at his hips, tingling through his shirt and under his skin, reaching for the most sensitive parts of his body.
Sasuke bursts into laughter only moments later. It's a pure, roaring guffaw coming straight from his stomach and echoing into the warm summer air, which converts it into a loud, booming mirage of giggles. The fingers don't stop their dance over Sasuke's hip bones even when he lets his arms fall and tugs at them, trying desperately to remove them.
His eyes closed once again, and his head gets thrown back, almost touching his back in the spur of the moment, while Sasuke bolsters and laughs away the hiccups that get caught in his throat before they can reach his mouth and create a solid sound. It's boiling torture perfected to a point to be tickled so, forced to laugh even.
When his arms grow tighter and tighter across his torso, the pain growing stronger with each tingle of a finger, the hands remove themselves from his sides, and the laughter fades to a bare giggle before it vanishes from his lips completely. His eyes open, and he turns around to check on his team, who he knows are standing behind him, both grinning at each other.
"So, Sasuke, did it work?" Sakura asks. Sasuke casually shakes his head. He can still feel the hiccups building up in his stomach, the air bubbles shaking through his mouth to create the squealing hueeck. It's safe to say the action disappoints Sakura and Naruto– it's not quite the answer they were hoping for.
They'd set up camp when the sun started to dip, and stars began to pool in from above. Kakashi had lit a fire for the group to sit around.
Usually, on long missions, that job went to Sasuke; it was increasingly easy when he could spit fire from his mouth. Sasuke practically pleaded—without actually seeming like it—to start the fire. Kakashi let him give it a try, but when he went to make the jitsu, he was cut off by those wretched hiccups.
Silence engulfed the group as they sat by the fire, the only sound the crackling of the fire and the pages of Kakashi's book turning.
And the occasional hiccup from Sasuke.
He subtly peered up to look over his book and observe.
His genin sat together on a log. Naruto, on the far left, was grumbling. Today had stressed him out; meanwhile, Sasuke, who sat next to him and tried his best to hide it, looked positively defeated, his posture slouched, eyes cast downward, and his arms crossed over his chest.
Sakura looked upset as well, keeping quiet, not even attempting to make conversation as she usually would.
He sighed heavily.
Sasuke clenched his jaw, his gaze fixed on the patch of dirt in front of him. he knew he was thinking foolishly, but a small (read: not so small) part of him was worried about how long the hiccups were going to last, maybe forever.
That's ridiculous... right?
Maybe it would make sense, seeing as they'd tried every myth known to ninja to rid his hiccups and still failed, what if he returned to the village like this? He'd already had Naruto make fun of him enough for a lifetime.
Oh Kami.
What if he had to fight Itachi with hiccups?
He jolted at the thought.
His older brother didn't take him seriously enough as it was, and he certainly wouldn't if he cornered him and demanded a fight while he was squealing like a pig.
His whole life was ruined because of hiccups.
Next to him, he heard Naruto grumble and saw him kick at the ground. He was acting childish and like he was the one with hiccups. What a moron, maybe it's because he was worried for Sasuke?
No. Certainly not.
He was pulled from his thoughts by movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head to see Sakura shuffling closer to him on the log. They locked eyes, and Sakura blushed like a madman.
"U—uhm..." She began dumbly, "I think I might know one last way to cure your hiccups, Sasuke-kun."
The group perked up, but mainly Sasuke. He was willing to do anything at this point, so he wouldn't have these Kami-awful hiccups anymore.
"Well?" He asked impatiently, not caring for the cutting tone his voice had. Sakura blushed even harder. Sasuke was briefly curious as to why, but he had more important matters to attend to.
"With a kiss." She looked up through her pink eyelashes and stared at him hopefully.
'No,' he thought.
"No."
Sakura squeaked and looked down. Meanwhile, Sasuke was mildly disappointed; he should've expected her to try and take advantage of his weakness, but he let himself trust and care for his teammates. This was his fault.
"R—right, I just thought that maybe—"
"I'm going for a walk."
He needed to clear his head. He stood abruptly, walking further into the forest with his hand shoved into his pockets. It was almost completely pitch black with no fire to be his light, but he knew where he was going anyway.
He reached the small winding river quickly, since they'd decided to camp next to it specifically.
Sasuke plopped himself down next to the water. Here, he let himself drop the act of indifference and openly sneered. This whole situation was infuriating. He watched how his reflection swayed in the river in the calm; he splashed the water. If he wasn't happy, neither would the water be.
He hoped that once he slept, they would just disappear overnight. But that hope was quickly dwindling, and soon Sasuke wondered if he'd even be able to fall asleep.
He heard the sound of leaves crunching behind him. His automatic response was to go on guard; he's a ninja after all, his shoulders tensing while he simultaneously reached for his concealed weapon, preparing for an attack, but then the sound of a familiar voice relaxed him.
"Teme." Naruto greeted him before he wordlessly plopped himself down next to the raven.
"Moro—hic!..."
They shared silence for a few moments. Until it was Sasuke who surprisingly spoke first, his curiosity getting the better of him, "Hey, Dobe," He muttered. All he got was a hum in response, so he continued. "Why are you so upset that I've got the hiccups?" He asked,
Naruto frowned. "Because how am I supposed to be Hokage if I can't even cure my teammates' stupid hiccups..." He muttered, tracing lines into the dirt they sat in, and Sasuke felt something squeeze uncomfortably inside of him.
'So it wasn't because he was worried for me.'
He hummed thoughtfully,
"So, help me." He said. Naruto paused his ministrations in the dirt to look at him, thoroughly confused,
"And how am I supposed to do that?" He huffed.
Sasuke swallowed.
"Kiss me."
What.
"What?" Naruto mirrored his thoughts out loud.
Where did that come from? I don't even like the idiot...
..
.
Do I?
"Sakura said it's the one thing we haven't tried yet." He excused himself, but it still didn't explain why he had asked (and wanted) the blond boy to—
oh.
He was kissing him.
Faster than he'd ever seen Naruto move, he surged forward, smashing their lips together clumsily; their teeth clattered on impact. Sasuke didn't mind the messiness of the kiss; in fact, it made it better in his opinion, more like Naruto.
He turned his body to face the blond better, one of his hands mindlessly moving up to cup his whiskered cheek, his thumb mindlessly swiping over the birthmarks, filing away the information that they were actually smooth to the touch and not bumpy or raised as he'd previously assumed.
The kiss was short-lived—more of a peck than anything really—and the two pulled away from each other slowly.
Sasuke opened his eyes slowly, only to see Naruto already staring at him. Blush quickly spread across their faces, Sasuke scrambled backwards on his hands, running his gaze to the river in front of them,
Naruto mirrored him, clearing his throat awkwardly, then scratching the back of his neck.
"So..." he began, "Do—do you think it worked?" Naruto asked.
Oh yeah, Sasuke briefly remembered, that's why we kissed.
Again. His mind supplied, unhelpfully.
They walked back to camp shoulder to shoulder as they both tried and failed to hide the crazy levels of blush that covered their faces. As soon as Sasuke managed to sit down, he was bombarded,
"You y—your hiccups! They're gone!" Sakura exclaims.
Sasuke just nods silently, pursing his lips together, and pretends the noticeable flush on his face doesn't grow. "So what happened to your hiccups?" She presses.
"They just went away." He shrugs. Sakura looks estranged, like she wants to press for answers, but she lets it go by, humming and shrugging it off.
Sasuke lifts his eyes from the ground over to the blond, who was already looking at him. They lock eyes for a second before they blush harder and look away.
Sasuke swivels his head in a direction and makes eye contact with Kakashi, who stares at him like he knows exactly what happened. He lifts a grey eyebrow, and Sasuke thinks he'd rather have his hiccups back than if Kakashi knew that he and Naruto kissed.
Attempt Ten: Kissing
