Work Text:

Winter.

If someone were to ask  Kaminari if he liked winter, he’d probably say he loved it for the festive season and the pretty snow! But right now, it’s the worst season ever in the entire world. There isn't a worse season on the planet. He doesn't feel very pretty or festive right now.

Kaminari stomps up the apartment stairs, his toes and fingers are more ice blocks than flesh. It doesn’t help that their shitty landlord refuses to heat the main areas of the building, leaving the halls and stairs colder than the inside of the apartments.

He doesn’t take off his gloves or coat for a second, even with the sweat collecting on his back underneath his puffer.

It is the worst kind of winter day to top it off. The kind where the wind stings and cuts at your cheeks and the snow is daggers flinging at him at what feels like the speed of a bullet. The sky is all grey like the sun doesn’t exist and the ground is slippery and shitty to run on.

Pain and suffering are the adjectives of the day for him.

After three flights of stairs and nearly slipping on a puddle from everyone’s wet shoes and the melted snow, Kaminari makes it to their apartment door. The key feels microscopic in his gloved hands, but he manages to unlock it with a sliver of luck and a jam of his elbow.

The door swings open and the tension rolls off Kaminari’s shoulders with the sight of his apartment. Golden lights spill into the gray and bleak hallway, already brightening his day. The pictures of them and their friends and reminder notes decorate their entryway.

And Kirishima’s shoes are sitting on the shoe rack.

“Hey, who’s home?!” the boyfriend in question calls out from the living room.

Denki smiles in relief and steps into their apartment. (not before stomping the sludge from his shoes one last time on their door mat) “It’s me!”

Now that he’s inside, it’s like a race between him and his coat, to see how fast he can chuck each glove, scarf, and shoe off of him. Denki does take the time to store his coat and shoes properly after though. If not for future him, then for Katsuki and Eijiro.

He shuffles into their laundry room and throws everything into the washing machine for later. They’re soaked through. Denki even peels off his wet socks, pants, and sweater to throw in too, leaving him in just a t-shirt and boxers.

With that, Denki is officially free with work!

A new energy rushes through his blood with his next priority. To get warm. The chill from the cold outside still clings onto Denki’s body as he waddles into the living room. Kirishima is hunched over his knees on the couch, holding a controller as Morio Kart music blasts from the TV.

“Are ya winning, son?” Denki laughs under his breath.

“Uhm—no, I am… not winning,” Eijiro strains as he jolts the controller at the upcoming ramp. The screen reads 7th; Kirishima is definitely not winning. He pauses the game for a moment and grins up at Denki.

Denki bends over to kiss his boyfriend hello. Eijiro tilts up with a grin and he tastes like oranges, sweet all the way around. Denki sneaks another one in before pulling away. The tension of the bitter wind and cold dissolves away with Eijiro here. He kisses his cheek one last time and scoots to sit on the floor in between Kirishima’s legs to not block the TV. Eijiro’s body heat seeps into the back of Denki’s t-shirt and he happily wiggles into it.

Eijiro taps the controller on top of Denki’s head and rests it there for a second before the next turn. “How was your day, ba–Woah!”

His question is knocked out of his mouth as Denki slides his freezing hands over his bare shins. Denki laughs at his reaction, apologizing lightly since Eijiro was knocked down two places for that.

“It was fine,” he groans, “Lots of streets were not cleared so that was really annoying to deal with, but y’know no on e fell down a flight of stairs with the ice.”

“Your hands are like ice! Do you wanna change into something cozy?” Kirishima bonks Denki’s head with the next turn again. “And hey! That was only one time and it wasn’t that many stairs.”

“Yeah, right. A few stairs, that’s what it was” Denki drums a silly rhythm on Eijiro’s legs. “I’ll change in a bit. I’m warming up,” he says confidently.

“You are?” There’s a hint of surprise in his tone. After all, Denki is wearing only a t-shirt and boxers.

“You could’ve gotten that item,” Denki notes.

“Shut up!” he shrieks. Another swerve of the controller.

“Yeah, I’m warming up.” Denki grabs Eijiro’s ankles and maneuvers his legs to sit on his shoulders, thighs pressed against his frost bitten cheeks. Denki sighs at the pure warmth that is Eijiro Kirishma and presses his legs closer into his neck and face. “Yeah, that’s nice.” Denki presses a kiss on the side of Eijiro’s knee; it’s only fair to pay up a small price.

Contrary to Denki’s relief, Eijiro hisses out, his legs almost shaking at the sudden change, “Yeah, so nice,” he grits out through a clenched jaw.

He continues to play through his tournament while Denki sits happily between his thighs on the floor. Eijiro moves his whole body with each turn and squeezes his legs with every jump.

Denki has a good time heckling Eijiro through it all.

It hasn’t even been ten minutes warming up yet. Denki’s face and the tips of his fingers and toes were starting to recover. Though, he wasn’t quite cozy yet. He wanted to be toasty. He wants to feel like he’s sitting in front of a nice winter fireplace, one they do not own. Denki is missing one key ingredient to his warmth.

And as if someone was listening to him– the front door unlocks.

Katsuki is home.

A big black coat and scarf open the door, arms full of grocery bags.

He could barely see Katsuki’s face behind his hat and the thick scarf from Izuku’s mom. Denki drops one of Eijiro’s legs off his arms to wave eagerly at his boyfriend. “Welcome home, Kats!”

“Welcome back!” Eijiro calls out.

There’s a grunt for a reply and both Denki and Eijiro chuckle at his reaction. It’s probably been a long day for Katsuki too. None of their quirks particularly excel during the winter time so work can be more tedious than during the warmer seasons.

Slowly, but surely, layers of winter clothes shed off of Katsuki as he shuffles his bags into the kitchen and shoes into their rightful place. Denki watches and waits patiently until it’s clear Katsuki is free of anything work related.

Denki kisses Eijiro’s leg twice now, for goodbye, and kneels to stand. He doesn’t get very far when there’s a voice next to him.

“Oh, are you leaving me?” Eijiro accuses, but there’s a smile on his face.

Denki gasps, “I’m so sorry, it’s not you, it’s me, I swear!” He stands dramatically, a perfect theater performance that would rival Monoma’s, his hand on his forehead in dismay. “I must say farewell!”

Eijiro laughs and wails in agony and heartbreak for extra detail. He grabs Denki’s other hand and kisses his palm gently, “Farewell, my love,” Eijiro’s long eyelashes flutter up at him and even though it’s a joke, the romantic gesture pierces Denki’s heart. His cheeks flush and Eijiro grins into his hand, kissing it one more time for good measure.

“What are you nerds doing?”

Katsuki’s deep voice snaps him out of it, forcing him to focus on his mission. He slips his hand out of Eijiro’s grasp. Denki turns sharply to Katsuki in their entryway, a fire in his eyes. He bends his knees, arms loose and ready at his sides. Katsuki shifts at the sudden change.

He breaks into a full sprint for Katsuki.

With their small apartment, it feels like only three steps before he leaps, throwing his whole body weight at his boyfriend. Katsuki’s stance changes somewhere during Denki’s run, knees bent with his arms outstretched to catch him. Denki has full confidence in Katsuki; he’s not scared.

There’s a grunt punched out of both of them when Denki hits him, wrapping his arms and legs around Katsuki. His feet never slip from the floor, sturdy and strong, that is their Katsuki.

“Damn, koala,” Katsuki grumbles into his hair. He adjusts his hold on Denki’s hips and legs anyway, keeping him in his arms.

Denki sighs into Katsuki’s neck and sinks into the heat. Eijiro is plenty warm, but if there has to be a ranking, Katsuki Bakugou would win by a landslide. The man is hot in more ways than one. He’s the primary heater in their relationship. And he knows it.

Denki and Eijiro have a habit of leeching onto Katsuki during the colder winter months.

(Although, in the summertime Denki would stage a breakup every year. Their combined heat is too much. Holding pinkies is all Denki can take.)

The bare skin of Katsuki’s arms and neck against Denki’s is heavenly. Like a human heated blanket. It’s amazing how Katsuki is still toasty and warm, even from coming in with the snow outside. Denki pushes Katsuki’s shoulders away with a mischievous spark of an idea.

“Take off your shirt!”

“What?” Katsuki looks up, interrupted from his phone time. There’s a snort from their living room.

“I said, ‘Take off your shirt!’” Denki blinks at Katsuki’s stillness and tugs at the hem, “Come on—“

Katsuki looks around for help like someone will come and rescue him from his loving boyfriend. He frowns, but lets go of Denki’s legs to wrangle his shirt off. Denki squeezes his legs around Katsuki’s middle to keep his balance and does the same, tossing his shirt in the vague direction of their laundry room.

If he could somehow jump into Katsuki’s arms while being in them, he would. He makes do by slamming into Katsuki’s chest and absolutely melts, the smell of spice and burnt sugar dancing around him. Chest to chest, it’s like a spa treatment, immediately relaxing his muscles. He digs his cold feet into Katsuki’s sides, doing his best to steal every inch of hot surface area he can reach.

“Oh, that was your plan? To use me as a personal heater?” Katsuki teases, running his hand up and down Denki’s spine.

Denki nods into the nape of Katsuki’s neck. Who needs a fireplace when he has his two boyfriends to warm him up? Eijiro, to dethaw him, and Katsuki, to heat him up.

The perfect combination.

“Ei, I just got attacked by a pervert!” Katsuki cackles and steps into their kitchen.

“I saw you take off your own shirt, pervert !” Eijiro wolf whistles from the couch and Denki shakes with laughter, trying not to upset Katsuki.

To no avail though, Katsuki smacks Denki’s back and points at Eijiro, “Watch who you’re calling a pervert! I’m making dinner!” Katsuki pulls out a package of udon noodles and waves it at the offending couch.

“Ah, sorry! I love you so much, babe! You’re not a pervert! You’re so hot and sexy!!” Eijiro pleads, “Thank you for making dinner!”

“That’s what I thought,” he nods solemnly. Denki can hear the smile in his words.

Denki peeks his head out from Katsuki’s neck. Heat rushes to his face when he sees Katsuki already looking at him. Three and a half years of dating and almost six of knowing each other and Denki still blushes at Katsuki’s eyes.

Screw him–they’re pretty, all sharp and amber orange.

“Hi,” Denki whispers.

“Hi,” Katsuki whispers back, that stupid famous smirk plastered on his face.

They meet each other in the middle easily, no way of knowing who moved first. Katsuki’s lips are soft on his as they kiss. Denki cups hands around Katsuki’s cheeks, framing his ear and jaw. He holds his face with as much care as Katsuki holds Denki.

Kissing in the kitchen of their shared apartment shirtless is as romantic as it could get. Denki has obviously seen both of them shirtless countless times now, but this skin to skin heat is different. Warm and comfortable. It excites him in a different way, like candles at the table compared to a roaring fire.

It’s loving.

Something Denki longed for his future so desperately, intimacy and care. And now he has it right here in his home and in his arms.

Katsuki pulls away from the kiss and Denki can’t even look him in the eyes, his insides mushy with affection and as warm as the outside now. He slumps down onto Katsuki again, drawing little shapes on his bare shoulder blade.

“Thank you for making dinner,” Denki says into Katsuki’s ear, face squished into skin. There’s a kiss pressed into his hair for an answer.

The next couple of minutes are spent walking around the kitchen and putting groceries away. Ever since highschool, the kitchen has always been Katsuki’s domain. He shelves and organizes produce like a pro, even with the extra challenge of Denki in his arms. Stopping every once in a while to stroke his hair and readjust his grip around his thighs.

He could fall asleep right there if Katsuki let him.

“Ei, where do you want to put these cookies?” Katsuki shakes a box around.

The TV pauses abruptly. “What? You got me cookies?” Denki can hear hurried footsteps when Eijiro comes bounding over to the kitchen island.

Kaminari sits up, looking at Katsuki with sparkles in his eyes. “What did you get me?”

“They didn’t have your candy.” Katsuki isn’t looking him in the eyes, choosing to look at Eijiro as he hands over a box of chocolate cookies. Denki frowns, but the fact that Katsuki looked for his candy tugs at his heartstrings. His hurt feelings don't last long when Eijiro tears open the box.

“You got me cookies,” he repeats, breathless. It's more of a statement this time. Eijiro pulls out one from the box, like if he blinks they’ll disappear. “These are the really good ones I was talking about from the Kobe office lobby! I can’t believe you got these, Katsuki! How did you even find these?”

Katsuki shrugs, “‘wouldn’t stop talking about them. Figured they must be good.”

Denki never expected Katsuki to be romantic when they first started dating, which was fine with him. But now, both he and Eijiro would vouch that Katsuki is the most romantic of the three of them.

They would never say it out loud, of course.

Katsuki loves quietly, watching and listening to every moment and word they say. It is different from the loudness Denki knows of himself and Eijiro. But without a doubt, Katsuki will sweep them off their feet with ease.

Not wanting to waste any more time, Eijiro takes a hefty bite out of the cookie. He lights up and smiles through his chewing, nodding vigorously; it’ll probably become a staple in their house if it’s that good. Denki opens his mouth, silently asking for his own bite which Eijiro obliges, cupping his hand underneath Denki’s chin to avoid crumbs.

“Woah-” he licks his lips. The chocolate melts in his mouth and Denki thinks of hot cocoa with the treat and he’s immediately sold.

“That's what I said when I tried them!” Eijiro pops the rest of the cookie in his mouth.

“Alright, that’s enough appetizers. Here take this—“ Denki squawks as Katsuki shoves him into Ejiro’s arms, an easy bridal carry for their buff boyfriend; he doesn’t exactly appreciate being tossed around. Katsuki rolls his shoulders out. “—and warm up your boyfriend and let me cook.”

Eijiro grips Denki’s legs better as he scrabbles for a hold on Ei’s neck. Eijiro scoffs, “My boyfriend? He left me for you!”

“Damn right, he did!” Katsuki challenges, shoving his face into Eijiro’s space. Eijiro shoves him back with no hesitation, bumping his forehead against Katsuki’s, egging him on. Denki watches on with coy interest; both his boyfriends are fighting for him. Or because of him, it’s all the same to Denki.

Eijiro breaks first.

“Fine, but I’d like some kiss compensation,” Eijiro pouts with finality, his eyes closed with seriousness. Denki toys with his neckline, slipping a hand into his shirt. He’s not cold anymore, just wants an excuse to touch him. Eijiro cracks open one eye. “Please.”

Then Katsuki breaks, his lips wavering into a slight smile.

He kisses Eijiro like it’s breathing and Eijiro leans into the pressure. Denki can see them both smile as they kiss. His heart swells at the sight of them. Katsuki holds Eijiro’s hand at Denki’s thigh, the other one Denki manages to catch with his own, rubbing his thumb along the calloused knuckles.

This is his future now and being squished by the two of them or squishing them is all he ever wanted.

It’ll take more than one kiss to satiate Eijiro. He catches Katsuki pulling away and peppers three more kisses against Katsuki’s lips, Katsuki’s eyebrows furrowed at the extra affection. “I love you, Kats.”

“Love you,” he grumbles back.

He’s looking at both of them when he says it and Denki knows, but that doesn’t stop him. “What about me?”

“And you,” Katsuki hums, pressing a kiss into Denki’s bare shoulder and squeezing his hand. Denki squeezes back.

“Do I get a kiss too?” Denki bats his eyelashes at Katsuki.

He waves a carrot in Denki’s face. “Hell no. You came onto me, you perv!”

Eijiro almost drops Denki, he laughs so hard.
