Killua’s eyes shot open. Today is the day. He was finally going to confess to Gon about his feelings. Killua groaned, wishing he could sleep longer. However, the nerves inside him were growing more fervent. He reluctantly sits up, swinging his feat over the edge of the bed, rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes. Killua gets up and quickly pulls on his favorite pair of pants and nice shirt. He brushes his teeth, combs his hair, and was finally ready to make his way to Gon’s room. On the way out, he snagged a small snack for the way.
Gon had his battle with Hisoka coming up way too soon. The date was creeping up on them. This worried him. Was Gon going to be ok? Gon’s room made it into view. Butterflies flitted in Kilua’s chest. Here goes nothing. Killua knocked on Gon’s door, nerves getting the best of him. Gon peaked out the door to see his friend waiting for him.
Killua had a crush on for quite some time. Ever since they’ve been in their own, he couldn’t help but notice his growing feelings for his best friend. The way he talked, how he was always so bubbly, how kind he was towards Killua, taking him in when no one else would. This feeling had been nagging at his heart, a weight waiting to be released from his shoulders. He stepped into Gon’s room after a warm welcome from him.
“Hey Gon,” Killua said.
“Yeah Killua?”
“I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something.”
“Yeah? Like what!”
Killua plopped onto Gon’s bed, gesturing him to follow suit. Killua’s heart pounded in his chest, faster than ever before.
“Well I’ve been thinking,” Killua paused, taking a deep breath.
“I think I like you Gon. Like, really like you. I love the way you smile, your personality, and your silly little jokes, even if I pretend not to,” Gon giggled at the last remark.
“I mean, really like you. Maybe as even more than a friend.” Silence hung in the air. Killua was tense, nervousness making his hands shake and his chest tighten. He anxiously watched for Gon’s response. Gon laughed, a musical sound.
“I really like you too Killua! Even as more than a friend,” Gon said, blushing.
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah, of course!”
Gon leaped at Killua, wrapping him in a tight embrace. Him and Gon toppled over onto his bead, the springs squeaking. Gon landed on top of Killua, crushing him. Gon chuckled, propping himself up on his hands.
“Hey what was that for!”
He focused his gaze on Gon’s eyes, staring into them. They stayed like that for a second, staring at each other. Then, Gon leaned down, giving Killua a small peck on the cheek.
“Woah Killua, your face has gone all red,” Gon remarked, laughing.
“Hey stop! That’s embarrassing-“ Gon cut him off by kissing him again, their lips brushing softly. Killua’s eyes widened in shock. Did Gon actually kiss him? His insides were squirming as he felt a warmth wash over him. This went better than it ever could’ve.
