Work Text:
The clock struck 19.00 as Nathaniel reached for his keys. It had been quite a long day with him completely losing track of time. Marc and him were brainstorming ideas for their next comic and Nathaniel had decided to stay behind to continue sketching and thinking while Marc went home. It ended with him getting dragged out by the school’s caretaker telling him that he needs to start looking at the clock.
At least he was noticed this time.
He pushed the keys into the lock and felt his stomach growling at him. He promised Marc he would eat the moment he gets home since the school didn’t have anything good and Kosher and he also had forgotten to make his lunch. Going 11 hours without food kinda drains you out.
Unlocking the door Nathaniel leaves his thoughts outside and steps inside his home. The door makes a loud clicking noise as it locks. He’s about to take his shoes off until he notices his parents in the living room. They looked distressed.. It gave him flashbacks to the moment his mother and father found the script for Sunheart and Rainpiercer.
“Everything okay?” Nathaniel asks, feeling a pit forming in his stomach. His father exhaled loudly as he avoided looking at Nathaniel. Unlike his father, his mother looked at him, but with fury evident on her face while holding something. Did they find his bl manga or something? He can probably fix that with a few lies.
“Nathaniel.” His mother started with an edge to her voice. “Are you able to explain why I found a bunch of letters from your supposed friend Marc?” His mother spoke, making fear gnaw at Nathaniel.
Letters. Letters from his “friend” Marc.
He knew exactly what his mother was referring to.
“Letters?” Nathaniel questioned, trying to hide the shakiness of his voice. Shirel slammed envelopes and papers on the coffee table watching as Nathaniel paled.
“These letters.” She hissed. Nathaniel gripped his messenger bag’s strap tightly in frustration. They had found them. His mother had once again rummaged through his room.
“Why the hell did you look under my mattress?!” Nathaniel yelled, taking a step forward. He needed to get those letters away from her.
Shirel scoffed, “Does that matter when my son has been corrupted?!” She screamed, making his father wince and Nathaniel tear up. How could she say that? He didn’t do anything wrong.
“Are you serious?!” Nathaniel yelled tears threatening to fall. “How can you even say that?” It had been 6 months since the comic incident and Nathaniel wasn’t going to sit silently and let his parents tear his subject of love away from him again.
“Don’t you dare talk back to me! What you and that.. That.. boy are doing is wrong! Disgusting..” Shirel exclaimed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Nathaniel stood firm and continued “Nothing about it is wrong! Marc is an amazing guy, he's the most loving partner I could ever have asked for!” Nathaniel retorted, making Shirel look at him like he had gone insane.
“Nathaniel! He is a man, you are a man. That’s just not how we raised you!” She gripped her arms, keeping her eyes shut.
Nathaniel couldn’t believe this. He looked at his father, but he was just sitting there. Avoiding him.
He couldn’t even look at his own son.
Nathaniel’s hands form into fists as he screams “THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS! I CAN’T CHOOSE WHO I LOVE!” As Nathaniel opens his eyes, fuming, he feels deep regret for daring to raise his voice higher than his mother’s. Shirel looked at him furiously as Anon was covering his face. “GET OUT!” She screams pointing her finger at the door behind Nathaniel.
Nathaniel blinks, and blinks again. Out. She wanted him out.
“You can’t be serious.” Nathaniel whispers as he watches Shirel’s angry expression and Anon’s shaking form on the couch. “M-mom, you can’t be serious! I’m still your son!” Nathaniel yelled. He was shaking as he took a step closer to his mother. He saw how her face morphed into disgust. It hurt badly.
“No son of mine is a.. Homosexual.” She retorts, starting to walk towards Nathaniel. He instinctively takes a step back. “Please, mom..” Nathaniel begs as tears fall down his cheeks. Shirel doesn’t seem to be phased by them as she continues on and grabs Nathaniel’s arm. “I don’t want any diseased in my home!”
She was serious, but it wasn’t just her who wanted him out. It was also his father who couldn’t even spare a glance at him. They betrayed him.. All of those promises of unconditional love shattered.
Shirel yanked him and unlocked the door as Nathaniel struggled in her stone grip. “Mom please, you can’t do this!” Nathaniel pleaded as she slammed the door open and pushed him outside.
Nathaniel staggered, falling over onto his knees. He looked up and saw Shirel closing the door with a cold glare.
He rushed to the door banging on it, yelling to his parents.
“MOM LET ME IN!”
“I’M NOT GOING TO LEAVE MARC!”
“Please I didn’t do anything wrong!”
“WHAT’S SO WRONG WITH ME BEING BISEXUAL?!”
“YOU CAN’T THROW ME OUT I’M YOUR SON!”
As he tore his vocal cords screaming to be let back in he couldn’t hear the footsteps closing in on the door. Only when he heard the bang on the door did he take a step back.
“YOU CAN COME BACK IF YOU KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR YOU! IF YOU STAY OUT YOU’RE DEAD TO US!” Shirel screamed through the door making Nathaniel jump.
“ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I HAVEN’T-” Before he could finish, she continued.
“YOU’RE A MONSTER!”
“Monster?” Nathaniel whispered as he heard shuffling from other apartments. Nathaniel took a step back and then ran down the stairs ignoring the doors opening looking to see what was happening.
He ran outside the apartment building tears flowing. He could only repeat the words his mother had said to him as he dashed past confused and worried people. All he could do was run. Run away from the place that had thrown him out like he was a summer cat.
Nathaniel rounded a corner falling over. The street was empty so Ziggy zoomed out of Nathaniel’s bag.
“Nathaniel, you need to calm down!” She bleated flying in front of Nathaniel’s unfocused eyes. “Z-ziggy..” He whispered, making the goat kwami nod with a worried expression.
“Bleat it.”
Ziggy gasped as she flew into the hairclips, transforming Nathaniel into Caprikid. He stood up dazed, giving a quick glance around before continuing running. He had more stamina this way. He could run farther away. Away. Away. Away.
Did he really need to run away? He was thrown out. There was no need to run when there was no one after him.
No. He needed to be away. Curse them. They threw him out simply for loving a boy. He didn’t want to be anywhere near them. So who cares if someone saw him transform? Who cares if he’ll be on the streets? Who cares if he doesn’t have a family anymore?
As long as he doesn’t have to be near them, those who promised him love and a space where he can be himself, he’ll run.
The fog was quite dense, and when he jumped up to a roof, he could barely see the next one. Sometimes he would stagger or slip on one of the roofs, but he kept getting up and running.
“Should I go back?”
“I need to stay far away from them.”
“I should have just lied about leaving Marc..”
“I hope they beg on their knees for me to come back to them.”
He leaped forward, not knowing where he was anymore. His breathing was ragged and he felt light headed, but he couldn’t stop yet. He needed to do something.. If he sat still his mind could race and he would spiral down into an unknown depth that he didn’t want to find himself in.
His platform shoes hit the edge of the roof making him sway. He tried to catch himself, but he ended up tumbling down to the ground far below. Caprikid yelped as his back hit the dirt. His back cried as he sat up disoriented looking around. He only saw broken buildings and a fence that looked like it was about to crumble to dust.
He sighed as he stood up internally cursing himself for getting so lost in his thoughts that he couldn’t even jump 5 meters without tripping and falling down. As he cracked his neck -his vision going black for a second- he noticed the lightness behind him.
“Fuck..” Caprikid muttered as he started to search for his lost paintbrush. His vision swam as his stomach and mind screamed at him for two different things. He took a few steps blinking trying to clear his eyes from the blurriness until his sight landed on a large paintbrush by the crumbling fence. He stumbled over to it, his head feeling like it was made of static.
About to crouch down to grab the paintbrush, his legs give under him and he falls face first into the ground. Caprikid mutters a few profanities but doesn’t make a move to lift himself up. He lays there, tears staining the ground. His mind raced through the events wondering why he didn’t just lie his way out. He should have at least tried. Maybe he could have said that the letters were just notes for a romance book Marc was writing.. The protagonist sending their lover letters and those letters his mom found were the ones for the book.. Yeah.. yeah.. He-
“Forgive me for intruding, but it seems your parents are being quite cruel to you.” Caprikid found himself in an endless space with a canvas in front of him which he was painting on. No? There was nothing in front of him. Yes there was. Wait, who was that voice?
“Your parents threw you out because of your love, correct?” The voice changed into something more masculine this time. Caprikid nodded without thinking, his questions turning silent.
The figure he didn’t notice before rested their hands on his shoulders as their voice changed from feminine to masculine as the words poured out. “Your parents don't understand who you are and what you want.”
Caprikid grunted as he lowered the paintbrush he was holding. He wasn’t holding a paintbrush, what’s going on? “They just want to control me. They don’t care who I actually am..” The genderless figure grabs his hand that was holding the paintbrush and puts it back to the canvas. What paintbrush? What canvas? He needs to get out of here!
“You want to be away from them, right?” Caprikid nodded as his thoughts shut down leaving him staring at the figure sitting in front of him. The canvas and paintbrush long forgotten.
“You want to keep your boyfriend.” He stared at the person taking his hands into theirs. “I’ll give you the power to make sure you can be with your boyfriend in Paris and no one can get in your way.”
Caprikid stopped, feeling cold sweat forming on his forehead. This was-
“Shh..” Caprikid froze. “I just want to help you. There’s nothing to worry about. Everything will be okay..” He felt his body relax as his mind went numb.
“Aren’t you such a good kid?” The figure chuckled. “You don’t have to worry about your genesis power.. I wouldn’t dream of taking anything away from you.” Caprikid smiled, it was empty, devoid of any emotion.
“Your mother called you a monster.. You should show her you are one.” The figure concluded as they traced circles onto Caprikid’s palm.
They chuckled as they suddenly grew large holding Caprikid in their hand.
“What shall I call you?”
“Revenant.”
Marc wasn’t expecting it to be still so foggy in the morning. It was foggy last night, and now in the morning the fog was even more dense. He could barely see 50 meters in front of him. Not a lot of people were out and not many cars were driving either, probably fearful of crashing due to not seeing anything.
Luckily he got to school without running into anyone or under a car. The weirder thing was that Nathaniel was missing. He couldn’t find him anywhere, which is odd because they always meet up before school starts.
He just decided that Nathaniel had stayed up drawing and is going to be late. Probably still sleeping since he wasn’t answering his texts either.
So he went to class, choosing to find him during study hall.
But he didn’t find him then either. He was worried now. He couldn’t find Nathaniel anywhere. Nath hadn’t even looked at his texts, he always did..
With hope he went to find Nathaniel’s class. Luckily for him, unlike finding Nathaniel, he had found the class rather quickly.
He arrived at the rooftop finding the class tending to the garden. A bit weird since he could barely see anything there, but oh well. He walked past a bunch of the ones he didn’t recognise and up to Marinette. She was doing… something? He wasn’t sure, but it didn’t matter.
“Marinette?” Marc asked, voice soft, as not to scare Marinette. Didn't work though. Marinette had jumped up, making the bag of soil drop and spill.
“Ah sorry!” Marc apologised quickly, while Marinette whined over the spilled bag. “Mmm.. I’m gonna have to pay for that, aren’t I?” Marinette mumbled before she stood up and looked at Marc.
“Nevermind, What is it Marc?” Marinette asked as she took off her gloves and stuffed them inside the pocket of her gardening apron. “Have you seen Nath? I can’t find him anywhere and he won’t answer my texts.” Marc questioned, pulling his phone out of his pocket to look at the messages again.
Rainbow:
Good morning, love! 7.45
Rainbow:
Did you stay up drawing again? <( ̄︶ ̄)> 8.20
Rainbow:
Where are you? I can’t find you anywhere 9.07
Rainbow:
Nath? Are you okay? 10.15
“It says that the last time he opened up messages was yesterday at 18.23” Marc spoke, scratching his nails.
Marinette frowned “No. He didn’t come to school today. Actually a few others from my class are missing..” Marinette spoke, clearly worried now.
Marc bit his thumb’s nail, which he did often when he was anxious. “Now that you mention it, 5 people from my class weren’t there. Do you think something happened to them?” Marc spoke, his frame starting to shake.
Marinette walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder. “There’s probably just a stomach bug going around.” She assured him, hoping to ease his nerves.
“Right.. Right.” He muttered. Her hopes were crushed, as she saw him starting to bite his thumb. Different scenarios played out in his head of what could have happened. Maybe Nathaniel got extremely sick and needed help. What if he got attacked by an akuma? Is there an akuma? The fog is dense.. That could be because of an akuma! Oh oh god.. Nathaniel could be dead.
“Okay I’m gonna need you to sit down Marc.” Marinette spoke as she saw how Marc was starting to spiral. Marinette guided Marc down to the floor pulling him into a side hug.
“How about we visit him during lunch? It’s in an hour.” Marinette suggested, Marc glanced at her and sighed. “I guess I can wait an hour.”
They hadn’t been able to go to Nathaniel’s because the fog was too dense for them to see where they were going. They could only see 20 meters in front of them, this didn’t seem natural anymore.
Marinette had run off suddenly telling Marc to try to contact Nathaniel. She didn’t tell him where she was going, but he sighed thinking it didn’t matter. He stood there texting Nathaniel, but never getting a response.
Only when he saw a red and black blur go past him, which was a bit hard with the fog, he decided to move. He ran off somewhere to transform, he wasn’t sure where because he could barely see anything.
“Orikko, I think there might be an akuma.” Marc whispered, crouching down behind a bush.
The rooster kwami watched him with tired eyes, “Yeah probably, this fog is making me tired!” He spoke yawning. “Something might have happened to Nath. I’m gonna need you to be your upbeat self right now.” Marc whispered, giving a seed to Orikko.
Orikko happily took the food, munched it down and said he was ready.
“Orikko, sunrise.” Marc muttered. With a bright flash, instead of an anxious writer, stood a prideful Rooster hero.. Well he was still anxious actually.
‘Okay, now where did Ladybug go..’ Rooster Bold wondered, looking around, only seeing a grey haze covering the world around him.
“Agh.. this is gonna be tiring.” He muttered starting to walk into the direction he thinks he saw her running off to.
Before he could get far he heard a beep and he opened the.. Yep the phone on his costume's wrist, because he refused to believe his fountain pen could have a phone inside it. Still, why did these ancient miraculouses have phones? Is it because they could be bent to the users will?
Deciding to push his never ending questions away, he looks at the message that Ladybug had sent.
“Bad news, an akuma is up and about. I can see a tall skinny figure looming over at the Dupain-Cheng bakery. It’s not moving, but I’d rather not get close without knowing what it can do. I’ll update if it starts moving. If you happen to be transformed come over to the rooftop of ********* and avoid the figure, don’t let it see you.”
Well isn’t that just lovely.
Rooster Bold took off running towards the address, making sure to avoid the bakery as not to alert the figure of his presence.
He was almost at the roof of where Ladybug was when he started to see the blurry form of the figure and oh christ. It was tall, very tall, it was as tall as the building where the bakery resided.
He landed next to Ladybug and Chat Noir on the roof and now he could make out more of the figure. Which he wasn’t too happy about considering how.. Disgusting it was.
He could see some goat horns on the figure and it indeed was skinny, it looked like its bones were sticking out, pulling the skin tightly over them. The body was standing on its hind legs while its front legs.. No actually those weren’t legs. They were creepy looking hands that had long nails, it reminded him slightly of Edward Scissorhands. It had a goat's head (judging by the horns), but its skin was rotting. You could see bone in a few places and he could make out some black collar around its neck that was mostly hidden behind orangish fur.
“That’s… a sight.” Rooster Bold muttered. Ladybug just nodded and Chat Noir stuck his tongue out. “No kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a horror movie type creature as an akuma before.” Chat Noir spoke, looking up and down at the figure.
“Any clue who it could be?” Ladybug asks, staring at the figure with grimace.
Both Rooster Bold and Chat Noir give her shakes of the head. “Some people have gone missing, could it be because of this akuma?” Rooster Bold asks, making Ladybug furrow her eyebrows. “Could be.. That could explain why… my parents were missing when I woke up.” Ladybug spoke.
Chat Noir whined “Great.. It can make people go missing.” Ladybug pats his back and continues, “I hope none of the other heroes have gone missing..” Ladybug muttered. At that Rooster Bold’s eyes widened, ‘Nathaniel..’ “Fuck”. Ladybug turns to him with widened eyes and Chat Noir raises his eyebrow in confusion. “I’ve never heard you curse before, you seem the type to hate it.” Chat Noir jokes, making Rooster Bold frown.
“My.. boyfriend probably got attacked by the akuma. He’s been missing the whole day.” Rooster Bold muttered, making Chat Noir frown. “Oh.. umm.. Sorry.” Chat Noir gave a nervous chuckle, until his shoulders dropped.
“It’s moving!” Ladybug suddenly whisper-yelled, alerting Rooster Bold and Chat Noir.
The figure, oh god.. when it moved it made cracking noises. Rooster Bold could see the bones moving, and how a bit of flesh fell off the akuma. The hoofs hit the ground making a clicking noise.
“ M a m A ” The akuma suddenly screeched. It sounded like a goat's baa, except it was obviously meant to form the word ‘mama’. Is the akuma a child? It could be, but a child turning into that is a horrifying thought.
“Okay.. either it’s a child looking for its mom or someone older, probably mad at or worried for their mom.” Ladybug concluded. Rooster Bold shrugged “I doubt it’s the first one. The design of the akuma shouldn’t be coming out of a little kid and I doubt the new miraculous holder would akumatize a lost child.” Ladybug nodded in response.
“It stopped.” Chat Noir mentioned, making Rooster Bold and Ladybug pay attention to it again. And yeah, the cracking noise stopped and the akuma had only moved a few meters. Could it only move a bit at a time?
“You know.. It’s pretty empty here..” Chat Noir suddenly said, making Rooster Bold and Ladybug look around. And truth be told it was empty, even in the morning it was incredibly empty. Marc had thought it was just because it was really foggy, but could it be because of this akuma?
“Well let’s see if there’s anything I’m missing.” Ladybug spoke, probably using her weird lucky vision or whatever she has talked about. He could hear her muttering something about her yoyo being highlighted. She opened her yoyo and then spoke “Well it seems like we’ve lost a few of the heroes, and some might not just be here like Argos, Viperion and Bunnix. Argos and Viperion probably aren’t in France right now and Bunnix is in her burrow.” Ladybug concluded.
“Who are the heroes that went missing?” Chat Noir asks, keeping his eyes on the akuma. Ladybug muttered something and then spoke up “Roi Singe, Polymouse, Carapace, Pegasus and Caprikid.”
“Rats. Pegasus could have been really useful.” Chat Noir pouted. Rooster Bold grew even more worried, “S-so.. umm..” Rooster Bold tried, but failed to say anything.
“Actually, look at this” Ladybug spoke up, making Rooster Bold and Chat Noir turn to her. When they looked at what she was pointing out, Rooster Bold’s stomach churned. “Why is Caprikid transformed and why is it purple?” Chat Noir muttered.
Rooster Bold felt like throwing up now. Why is it purple? Why was Nathaniel transformed when he went missing?
Ladybug, noticing his distress, put her hand on his shoulder. “I’ve never seen it before. I doubt it’s because he’s missing, since the other four aren’t purple.” Chat Noir just shuddered, “All of this is just plain creepy” he commented.
He wasn’t wrong. Everything was foggy, people were missing and there was a huge goat headed, rotting creature. It was creepy.
“Do you see that collar? It’s probably where the akuma is.” Ladybug pointed out. It was a black collar, but he couldn’t see it fully. After all they were in a position to only see the back of the akuma.
“I could grant myself invisibility and check it out from all angles.” Rooster Bold mentioned, getting agreements out of Ladybug and Chat Noir.
“Just don’t go too close, don’t want you getting caught in those fingers…” Ladybug grimaced, shuddering at the thought.
“Sublimation: Invisibility.” Rooster Bold muttered, activating the ability. Once he disappeared, Ladybug and Chat Noir turned back to watching the akuma. Deciding not to waste any time, he jumped between roofs, landing on the Dupain-Cheng bakery’s balcony to get a side view of the akuma.
Goats usually have brown, yellow or orange eyes, but this one had cerulean blue eyes. It reminds him of one goat he saw way back as a kid and Nathaniel. Its face was slightly rotting at the snout and he could see a bit of bone. The red around the goat's mouth was hopefully just fur accompanying the orangish fur around its neck..
The most prominent feature for this creature was its horns. The horns were large and curled behind the goat headed creatures ears, the ridges changing between sharp and dull. He kind of wants to take a picture of them..
Looking at the body of the beast, it was.. Still disgusting. The light grey skin was tight on the bones and some flesh was falling off. It was missing fur from some parts of its body. The creature was rotting, it looked like it had crawled out of a grave.
A zombie, goat headed, rotting, skinny, cerulean eyed, mother looking akuma. Was this some creepypasta that he hadn’t heard of yet?
He decided to move onto the collar, it appeared to be made of leather and something was dangling off of it. He couldn’t quite make out what it was since it was a bit hidden in the orangish fur of the akuma, but it shimmered so it was probably made out of metal. He should get a front view.
He continued, jumping to the ground and running a bit further away from the akuma. He could finally make out what the shiny thing dangling off the collar was.
It was a triangle.
A very familiar triangle.
Ladybug watched the akuma closely. It didn’t move at all. They were hidden behind the edge of a building, right behind the goat so as to not be seen. The horns probably blocked some of its view.
It stood there, taking ragged breaths. Sometimes it would let out bleats that sounded like the words mama and papa. She couldn’t help, but wonder what had happened.
She hoped that Rooster Bold was okay, she couldn’t see him because of the power and even if it faded away she still wouldn't be able to see him due to the thick fog. It was a wonder she could see the akuma, it almost seemed like the fog was avoiding it.
“M’lady! It’s moving!” Chat Noir suddenly screeched, drawing Ladybug out of her thoughts.
Just like he said, the goat akuma was lifting up its arm, but Ladybug couldn’t see what it was doing. “Lucky charm.” She whispered. A drone had fallen into her lap and she instantly sent it flying. “God I love having unlimited lucky charms..” she chuckled, making Chat Noir hum in agreement.
They looked at the screen and saw.. Rooster Bold standing in front of the akuma with hands clasped over his mouth. Something shimmered on his face and Ladybug could only guess that it was tears. “What’s he doing? He should run away!” Chat Noir questioned seeing as the akuma lifted up its arm.
The goat akuma stared at Rooster Bold, while tracing something in the air leaving a glow behind. Suddenly a.. Strip of something appeared. They couldn’t quite make out what it was since the drone had to stay far enough to not be noticed by the akuma. The ability and glow was very familiar..
Before Ladybug or Chat Noir could react the akuma swiped and grabbed Rooster Bold into its hand. “R o O ” The akuma screeched, shocking Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Rooster Bold on the other hand didn’t seem surprised, only worried.
“But doesn’t.. Doesn’t Caprikid call Rooster Bold ‘Roo’?” Chat Noir asked with a horrified expression on his face. Ladybug froze, the purple around Caprikid’s icon. It.. oh.. Oh god..
“This.. this is bad, we’re gonna have to call back up.” Ladybug suddenly fumbled with her yoyo, opening it up to all of the heroes' symbols. “Shit, that’s why it’s highlighting everyone except the ones that went missing and the ones that aren’t in France.” Ladybug cursed, clicking all of the highlighted heroes, alerting them.
“I’ll send a message to them.” Chat Noir piped up, “You start figuring out a plan, alright?”
Ladybug nodded, starting to put her brain to work.
“Big bad bad news. We need everyone to come to the Dupain-Cheng bakery. The akuma has made Roi Singe, Polymouse, Pegasus and Carapace go missing. The akuma is Caprikid. It captured Rooster Bold and all we know about its powers is that it kept Caprikid’s genesis powers, but it can also make people disappear. We don’t know how, so don't go near it.”
Chat Noir let out a shaky breath as he picked up Ladybug’s lucky charm to see what the akumatized Caprikid was doing to Rooster Bold. To his surprise Rooster Bold was hanging on to the fur around Caprikid’s neck.. Actually it seemed like Rooster Bold was stuck to the fur and the strip of something was missing.
“M’lady, he hasn’t done much to Rooster Bold. Rooster Bold is stuck to his fur somehow and the strip we saw is gone.” Chat Noir informed Ladybug as she fiddled with her yoyo.
“Alright, everyone is coming. Well except Viperion, Bunnix and Argos” Ladybug let out a small sigh of relief, knowing that at least no one else had gotten captured during the time from when she last saw her classmates.
“We need to figure out his powers, I doubt it’s just his genesis.” Chat Noir muttered, staring as the akuma stood still again. He didn’t move at all, but Rooster Bold looked like he was talking.
He was probably trying to talk Caprikid out of it.
“Shit, did Caprikid actually get akumatized?” Suddenly came out a voice that made Chat Noir jump. Turning around he saw Purple Tigress in front of him. Ladybug only gave a solemn nod in response, and Chat Noir turned his head back to the screen.
“We don’t know what happened to him, but we have a few ideas based on what he has said so far.” Ladybug explained, observing the akuma. Purple Tigress nodded and looked at the monster esc akuma standing still. “We’re waiting for everyone else, then I’ll explain everything.”
They didn’t have to wait long. All of the heroes who could come were standing on the roof now watching the akuma with concerned expressions.
“Alright everyone is here.” Chat Noir muttered, not taking his eyes off the screen. He had to make sure that Rooster Bold was okay, and to see if Caprikid was going to move. Ladybug rose from her crouching position and looked at the heroes.
“Right. Just like the message said, our friend Caprikid has been akumatized.” Most heroes frowned and looked away with saddened expressions. “We aren’t sure why he got akumatized, but it must have something to do with his parents.” She explained, making a few nod.
“Why? What happened? Did he say something?” Rena Rouge asked, fiddling with her flute. She was probably worried about Carapace since he was one of the missing heroes.
“M a m A ” The goat akuma suddenly screeched, making a few of the heroes jump. “Oh.. that’s why.” Rena muttered, looking horrified at her akumatized friend.
“He doesn’t look really sparkly right now.. He looks more..” Pigella stopped, “Dead.” Purple Tigress ended. “Yeah that..” Pigella nodded sadly.
“Okay,” she put up her pointer “First. He can’t see behind him. Usually goats should be able to see behind them to some extent, due to their horizontal pupils, but his horns are incredibly big and are definitely covering up some of his sight.” Ladybug started, making the heroes nod and some confused on why she knows about goats eyesight so much.
“Second.” She continued putting up her middle finger “He can barely move, and when he does it makes loud cracking noises. He’s moved twice now and has made it only about 10 meters.” Chat Noir cringed as he was reminded of the disgusting noise.
“Third.” Ladybug put up her ring finger, “He uses his right pointer finger to use his genesis power. We don’t know if he can use his left one also, or if he can use his other fingers since he has done it only once. But we can try to get him to use it again to see if it changes or if he keeps it the same.” Ladybug took a small break to calm her nerves. This is frustrating, very frustrating.
“Fourth.” Ladybug put up her pinky. “He can make people disappear. We don’t know how or why, but we’ll find out somehow.” She spoke, starting to pace around. Some of the heroes were debating on if they should try to calm her down, but decided against it once she put up her thumb.
“Fifth! His akuma is probably on the collar around his neck, because there’s nothing else that could have it.” She exclaimed, sitting down on the edge of the building. Rena Rouge walked over to her and sat her hand on Ladybug’s shoulder. “Girl, we’ll figure this out. Just take some breaths.” Ladybug shivered, “I can’t. I should have been there to help him! I decided to give everyone miraculouses permanently and now one of them has gotten akumatized!” She yelled. Rena Rouge pulled her into a hug “You couldn’t have known. He didn’t send you any messages right? If anyone had gotten anything they would have spoken up already. He was alone and we couldn’t have reached him, because we didn’t know.”
While Ladybug was calming down and the other heroes discussed the situation, Chat Noir finally saw movement in Caprikid. “Reeveeenaaant.” it bleated, rather lowly. “Guys I think we got a name!” Chat Noir spoke up, pulling everyone out of their conversations.
“He said Revenant. Rooster Bold probably got him talking.” Chat Noir explained, making few of the heroes murmur something to each other. He turned back to the screen as the other heroes now discussed if the name could tell them anything.
He watched as Rooster Bold spoke to Ca- Revenant. Revenant seemed to listen to him intently and showed no signs of aggression towards the Rooster hero.
“I’m pretty sure Revenant won’t hurt Rooster Bold. He can make people disappear, but he’s just listening to Rooster Bold talk.” Chat Noir piped up again.
“But why did he attack the four other heroes?” Minotaurox asked, looking at the akuma solemnly.
“I don’t think they were transformed, so he probably didn’t recognise them.” Chat Noir spoke, watching as Rooster Bold reached up his hand towards the goat’s head.
“Is he petting him?” Rena suddenly asked, making all of the heroes look as Rooster Bold petted their akumatized friend.
“This could not get any weirder..” Ryuko muttered, looking at the Rooster hero with concern. Chat Noir just chuckled and continued to watch.
“Okay.. okay. I’m calm now!” Ladybug sprung up. “Okay let me summon my lucky charm again so I can mold the plan around it.” She said, “Are you ready, Kitty?” she asked, making Chat Noir give a thumbs up as he gave one last glance at the screen where Rooster Bold was hugging the akuma. When did those two become so close?
“Lucky charm!” Out of the yoyo fell a long rope, it was probably over 20 meters long. Ladybug quickly fell back so as to not be crushed by the rope. “So we're gonna tie him up?” Miss Hound asked, looking at the thick, long rope.
Ladybug nodded “Yup, but it’s gonna be.. Difficult. But I’m sure with most of us here we can bring our friend back!” She exclaimed, slamming her fist to her chest.
Some heroes gave warm smiles while others gave fist bumps. Chat Noir stands up from his crouching position and glances behind him, seeing Rooster Bold just sitting in the fur of their friend.
Don’t worry Nathaniel, we’ll save you.
“And then I tripped and slammed my jaw on the floor. I wasn’t prepared to run in heels..” Rooster Bold sighed. His akumatized boyfriend blinked and let out some type of quiet bleat from his throat.
“Don’t worry, it didn’t hurt that bad.. Well it didn’t do any damage..” Rooster Bold let out a nervous chuckle. “You know..” Revenant cocked his head slightly to the side with a pop.
“I’m scared. I’m really scared.” Rooster Bold leaned further into the fur, “I just.. I want to help you.” He muttered.
Revenant stood still. Seemingly not sure what he should do. “s O r R Y” The goat akuma bleated, making Rooster Bold shake his head. “Don’t apologise. It’s not your fault.” He assured, soaking into the fur.
Suddenly he felt movement again, hearing loud cracking noises as Revenant started moving again. He held tightly onto the fur, even if Revenant had stuck him on the fur, he wasn’t sure that it would hold.
Revenant turned around with great strain as his leg looked like it was about to snap in half.
“You shouldn’t move much..” Rooster Bold spoke, a worried expression on his face.
The akuma stopped, and Rooster Bold was able to see about half of the heroes there. Pigella, Chat Noir, Minotaurox, Vesperia and Miss Hound were standing there. The other heroes were probably somewhere else putting a plan into action.
“HEY GOAT HEAD! HOW’S THE WEATHER UP THERE?” Chat Noir yelled, doing something with his hands.
Before Revenant could do anything he and Rooster Bold were drenched in water by none other than Ryuko. Most of the fog dissipated with it and now Rooster Bold could see the other heroes more clearly.
Rooster Bold could feel Revenant shaking and he quickly covered his ears. Revenant let out a loud scream, courtesy of a goat’s vocal cords. Keeping his hands over his ears, he scanned the heroes that were looking a bit bewildered by the screech.
“It’s going to be okay.” Rooster Bold muttered, rubbing the neck of the goat creature. Revenant was still shaking, probably angry about the wash. Rooster Bold wasn’t happy either, he was pretty cold.
Revenant lifted up his arm, with a crack and a pop no less. He moved his finger, tracing up something. Once he stopped a blanket fell into his hand. He reached over to Rooster Bold and dropped it onto him. Rooster Bold sat there in shock, until he gave a nervous smile “T-thanks, love..” He wrapped the blanket around him and looked at the heroes once again who seemed even more shocked by the outcome.
He looked at the hand that Revenant was still holding over him, wondering why he hadn’t put it down. Without any warning the hand covered him fully, cupping him. Everything was dark, he didn’t like the dark that much, but the warm blanket gave him some comfort.
Rooster Bold wondered what was going on outside, until he could feel shaking. And that shaking turned into a big goat quick. Get it? Earth quick, goat quick.. He should leave the puns to Chat..
He grabbed the wet fur under him, even if he was stuck to the fur he didn’t want to risk falling off. “Is he shaking the water off like a dog?” Rooster Bold murmured to himself as the shaking was starting to lessen.
Once the shaking stopped, the hand covering him was lifted and he saw how most of the buildings around them were wet. He looked up to the spot that half of the heroes were at, only now there resided Chat Noir standing on his staff that was extended between two buildings.
“SORRY FOR THE WASH ROOSTER BOLD!” The cat hero yelled, making Rooster Bold shake his head. Revenant didn’t seem to like his apology that much and he started to move again.
“Revenant, I don’t think you should move!” Rooster Bold exclaimed as he heard a crack from one of Revenant’s legs. Revenant didn’t let out a sound and stopped, probably taking a break.
Out of nowhere, Pigella flew up to Revenant’s face, probably been thrown by another hero, but before she could use her ability Revenant grabbed her. Pigella winced as the force of the grip was crushing her. Revenant was staring at her, his mouth slightly slacked open.
“Revenant let her go!” Rooster Bold yelled, he wasn’t sure how he could help Pigella out of the situation. “I’m sorry Revenant! Jubi-” Pigella was cut off as the akuma squeezed her making her yelp out in pain.
“F o o D” Revenant bleated. Rooster Bold froze and Pigella paled. “Food?..” Pigella muttered, her eyes widened.
“Pigella!” Chat Noir was running across the roofs, trying to get to Pigella.
Revenant moved Pigella closer to him, Rooster Bold couldn’t do anything. He was frozen in place, watching in fear as the akuma brought Pigella to his mouth.
Chat Noir leaped, about to grab Pigella’s arm, until Revenant’s teeth sank into her.
The blood splattered onto Rooster Bold and Chat Noir’s faces. Chat Noir fell, until he extended his staff and vaulted away. Rooster Bold sat in the fur, watching Pigella’s limp body starting to fade away.
His stomach churned. That’s what happened to all of the missing people. His classmates, Marinette’s classmates, Ladybug’s parents, the heroes that went missing. All of them were eaten.
Rooster Bold couldn’t move. He watched in horror as the blood dripped down Revenant’s face, Pigella having faded away to nothing. He still couldn’t move when he felt a rumbling and Revenant grew larger. He couldn’t even wipe the splattered blood off of his face.
“H u N g r Y ” Revenant bleated, starting to move again and pulling Rooster Bold out of his shock. He was finally able to look around and he saw none of the other heroes. That’s good. If they came too close, they would meet the same fate as Pigella.
“R-Reve..” Rooster Bold tried to speak, but he couldn’t. Earlier he was scared, because his boyfriend had gotten akumatized. Now he was scared because his boyfriend just ate one of their teammates. He hasn’t been on the field very long, so he hasn’t seen anyone directly dying, unlike Ladybug, Chat Noir and the older heroes. Now he has. He knows Pigella will come back once the magical cure gets used, but she still died.
That witch gave Nathaniel a power that needed him to kill someone, that.. That isn’t fair. Nathaniel would never want to take someone's life, but now he has to. He just hopes that he won’t remember any of the murders once he gets deakumatized. Which he will, Rooster Bold refuses to believe that they’ll fail.
Shaking his head, Rooster Bold, opens the small phone on his wrist. He saw a message from Ladybug.
“I need you to distract him. There’s other heroes distracting him too. If anyone dies, try to continue. I know it’s hard. I’ve witnessed many deaths, but we need you to move forward. Everyone will be brought back.”
Okay. He can do this. Just don’t think about Pigella too much.
Rooster Bold looked over to Revenant who had stopped moving and was looking around. Probably trying to see behind his horns. “Revenant!” Rooster Bold yelled, making the akuma turn his head back and watch the rooster hero closely.
“I.. I umm.. Damn it I didn’t think far enough..” Rooster Bold muttered, covering his face.
The akuma stared at him in confusion, waiting for him to speak. He probably couldn’t understand Rooster Bold’s muttering.
As Rooster Bold was mumbling and cursing under his breath, trying to figure out what to say, everything shook.
Revenant had been hit by Clout, making the akuma stumble and the blanket that Revenant had made for him to fly off. The large beast took support from a building, slightly crushing it, while Purple Tigress landed on a roof, which Rooster Bold is guessing is where she jumped from. The tiger hero looked distraught and angry. Rooster Bold remembered how Purple Tigress and Pigella were quite close to each other, so her death must have hit hard for her.
Before Rooster Bold could think further, Revenant let out another goat scream. The akuma threw his arm towards the tiger hero, destroying a lot of the building while Purple Tigress was running away from the attacking hand.
Rooster Bold lost sight of her as she disappeared behind the large akuma. He didn’t know what was happening until the arm came back, he was expecting it to be either empty or have Purple Tigress in it, but no. It had Vesperia. She was struggling, trying to free herself. The problem was that it seemed that she had used her venom on the hand she was being held in. Rooster Bold could only guess that the large size of the akuma only allowed the venom to stun a certain part of the creature.
“Revenant let her go! Please! I know you don’t want to hurt anyone!” Rooster Bold yelled, as Vesperia was nearing Revenant’s mouth. Rooster Bold was now panicking, he needed him to stop. He can’t let him kill anyone else. Vesperia was only a few meters away from the mouth that was now open to reveal the bottom teeth of the goat head.
“Please.. Caprikid!” Rooster Bold yelled. Revenant stopped for a moment, looking at the shaking form of the rooster hero.
The silence seemed to stretch on forever, until. “H U n G R y” Rooster Bold could only stare in horror as the akuma bit into Vesperia. She didn’t scream, dying instantly as her blood splattered onto Rooster Bold and Revenant.
“Please..” Rooster Bold whispered, watching the bee miraculous holder’s form vanishing.
Revenant’s hand was stuck in place, looking like it held something. All the akuma did was lower the arm and turn around to see where the tiger hero had gone.
“STOP IT REVENANT!” Rooster Bold yelled as Revenant grew slightly again. The akuma didn’t listen to him this time and only continued to move, as his bones cracked and hoofs clicked the ground.
“HEY, LISTEN TO ME! I ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU SO YOU BETTER LISTEN TO ME WHEN I’M TALKING TO YOU!” Rooster Bold screamed, making Revenant stop for a moment. “I DON’T CARE HOW HUNGRY YOU ARE YOU DON’T EAT HUMANS!” Revenant turned his head away making Rooster Bold fume. “DON’T YOU TURN AWAY FROM ME CAP! I KNOW THAT YOU SECRETLY ENJOY IT WHEN I BLOW UP AT YOU!” Revenant’s face grew slightly warm, being a drastic difference to the akuma’s freezing skin.
Rooster Bold honestly was just yelling random stuff to distract the akuma. He was still horrified and shocked at the sheer lack of guilt from Revenant after eating two of their teammates.
He just needs to do his job even if he feels like throwing up, crying, curling into a ball and screaming his lungs out.
“Rooster Bold sure can scream.” Chat Noir muttered, looking at the akuma that was standing completely still, listening to the ramblings of the rooster themed hero.
“He’s still terrified, look at him shaking.” Ryuko pointed out. Rooster Bold was shaking like a humming bird and looked extremely pale as he sat in the fur of the akumatized Caprikid.
Most of the heroes here had seen a couple of people die. It came with the job, but obviously it didn’t make it any better. Everyone was shaken by two of their friends' deaths, some more than others, but they needed to move forward.
“I have a theory.” Ladybug suddenly spoke up, making the team look at her. She cleared her voice while working on tying the rope.
“The people who got eaten aren’t dead.” Ladybug started, making Chat Noir look at the akuma. Before Ladybug could continue he spoke “Is it because of Revenant’s hand?” Chat Noir questioned, making Ladybug smirk.
“Yup. If Vesperia was dead, his hand wouldn't still be stuck in that grabbing position.” Ladybug explained to the confused heroes.
“Ah right. The effect should have worn off..” Miss Hound spoke as she played with her ball anxiously. Ladybug nodded, resting one of her hands on her hip. “I wonder why Rooster Bold isn’t using his ability to get out of there..” Rena Rouge muttered, looking at the yelling rooster hero.
“The rooster miraculous’s ability is so…” Ladybug spoke trying to find the right words “Op!” Chat Noir chimed in, “It takes a lot to use it. Even if he has an unlimited amount of uses it still takes a lot out of him so he basically doesn’t have.. unlimited uses..” Ladybug trailed off, looking at the sky in thought.
“Damn that sucks.” Rena blurted out, glancing at Rooster Bold who seemed exhausted. He must be tired from using his miraculous, seeing his friends die and then screaming at his akumatized boyfriend.. She wouldn’t know what to do if Nino ever got akumatized, Rooster Bold sure is strong.
“Anyways, I’m done tying this up.” Ladybug spoke up. She turned to Chat Noir who wasn’t looking at the akuma anymore. “Is the other side ready?” She asked, making Chat Noir give a thumbs up.
“Great. Now let’s bring that akuma down.”
Cerise was getting annoyed.
First she wasn’t able to access Caprikid’s memories, only able to hear distorted voices giving her the information she needed to press him into akumatization. So she didn’t know the identity of Caprikid or his boyfriend. No one.
Second, The stupid akuma was just standing and letting his hero boyfriend yell at him about random shit. She was extremely frustrated about this because she needed Revenant to capture the heroes who were literally right there obviously planning something against him. He hadn’t even gone after his parents yet so she had no clue who they were..
Third, She was pretty tired. She hadn’t slept at all, rather keeping her eyes constantly on the akuma. It was her best creation after all even if Revenant was a complete fool for just standing there letting his boyfriend yell at him. Akumatizing a miraculous holder was a huge step to victory. She’s sure she can get something out of this.
In the end she should be grateful that she has been given this wonderful opportunity. It shows that the heroes aren’t invulnerable and even cleared up the fact that Caprikid and Rooster Bold are teenagers. This is a huge step towards winning and she might even get Revenant back if the boy faces something drastic again.
Well it’s time to finally intervene on this disappointing situation.
“Hello Revenant.” She greeted the akuma.
Caprikid had changed. He wasn’t painting anymore. Instead he was crouching down staring into the void with wide eyes. His hair, skin and eyes were quite desaturated. It was sort of disgusting, but it seems to be a side effect from how long he has been akumatized. It has been over 17 hours..
“I don’t want to disrespect you in any way, but you seem to just be allowing your boyfriend to yell at you. Why is that?” She questioned the hunched figure.
He didn’t show any sign that he had even heard her. But then he spoke in a hoarse voice.
“I like it when he’s comfortable enough to speak his mind with me. If it was anyone else he would have shut down.” He didn’t move. It didn’t even look like the words had come out of him, but the moving mouth betrayed that thought.
“Ah.. well wouldn’t it be nicer if he yelled at you when you aren’t struggling with those.. things? They’re plotting against you, probably setting up a plan right now.” She spoke, switching her voice around. Caprikid only shrugged, finally showing movement.
“I guess.. He seems to be mad for hurting them.. Did I hurt them?” He suddenly asked, making Cerise stop for a moment, thinking of how to cover up his little power.
“Of course you didn’t! I would never give power to someone which would force them to hurt people.. Your power doesn’t hurt them at all~” Cerise spoke, stroking the dull, desaturated orange hair of Caprikid.
“Good. I don’t..” Caprikid stopped. Cerise watched as the akumatized hero shrunk more into himself before letting out a small bleat.
That was interesting. Was the akumatization extending here too? She needed to write this down.
“Take care of those people and you can enjoy your lover's trust all you want.” Cerise spoke, starting to fade out, leaving a bleating Caprikid who seemed to turn greyer.
This was interesting.
“YOU BETTER GET ME OFF OF HERE! I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU USED TO GLUE ME DOWN BUT IT’S REALLY STRONG AND I ACTUALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS SO WE CAN USE IT DURING OUR.. THINGS!” Rooster Bold yelled. He was just saying what was coming to his head now. Hoping his distraction was helping the other heroes. He really needed to puke his guts out after watching two of his teammates' heads get eaten like in Madoka Magica. Did he really just reference his friends' deaths to an anime? Is he sick for that?
Before he could really think about it more, Revenant started moving after he saw Miss Hound and Minotaurox. Rooster Bold panicked. He was supposed to keep him distracted until he got the message from Ladybug that they were done, but now he distracted himself instead.
He was about to start yelling again until he heard a beep. He opened the phone and read the message he had gotten
“All done! Can you use your ability? We need you to get off his fur and get to ****** where I’ll explain the plan.”
Rooster Bold frowned. He was kind of weak right now, but maybe he could pull through and get off the fur. Hold the ability at least for a bit..
He was brought out of his thoughts by the loud crack and the stumble of Revenant. Revenant had taken support from a building with his left clenched hand. Rooster Bold decided that this was a good time to run off with Revenant being distracted by he’s guessing a broken bone.
“Sublimation: Intangibility.” Rooster Bold whispered, hoping to not alert Revenant. He felt himself slightly sinking into the fur proving that he was free to run off. He stood up making sure he wasn’t through Revenant and cancelled the ability to not waste energy.
Once he was standing and gripping onto the fur, Revenant noticed him. The horizontal pupil of the goat head shrunk slightly and the akuma bleated angrily.
That’s not good.
He jumped off landing on the opposite building of what Revenant was using as support. Revenant instantly brought his hand up trying to grab Rooster Bold, but before he could Rooster Bold bolted off running. Haha.. bolted..
Seriously he needs to leave the jokes to Chat Noir.
He ran hearing the loud crackling and clacking of the akuma who was after him. The bleats screaming the nickname Caprikid called him felt more like a mockery than a plea for him to come back to him.
He felt the tears stinging his eyes as he heard a snap and a crash. He stole a glance behind him, knowing he couldn’t continue without knowing what had happened. He saw Revenant holding onto Minotaurox and a Stressed out Miss hound, while the akuma was leaning on a building with his legs snapped in half.
Rooster Bold turned away once he saw Revenant bringing the Ox hero to his mouth. He could only hear a crack and the rumbling from Revenant growing as he finally landed down into the alley Ladybug had wanted him in.
Before the heroes who were in the alley could speak to him Rooster Bold doubled over and puked. Ladybug and Ryuko winced, Purple Tigress watched with a sad expression and Rena Rouge and Chat Noir looked away.
“You okay..?” Ladybug asked softly, crouching down, bringing her hand to rest on Rooster Bold’s back. Rooster Bold, after done, could only nod while wiping the grime of his mouth. “Alright.. We should get to the plan.” Ladybug stood up, pulling Rooster Bold to his feet.
“We have planted rope across the street at the end. We’re gonna bring him down, make him land on the roof and tie his mouth shut with the rest of the rope we cut off the lucky charm. We need you to lure him over to the building. Rena Rouge has already used her illusion to make the rope invisible.” Ladybug explained making Rooster Bold dizzy. It wasn’t much information, but after throwing up and being a bit out of it, it felt like a lot.
“Right.. So I’m just gonna run over to the building.. Get him to come over, he trips.. We tie his mouth shut so he can’t eat any of us..” Rooster Bold recounted “What about his genesis?” He asked in the end, making Ladybug shrink a bit.
“Ryuko is gonna cut his fingers off.” She muttered, making Rooster Bold stare at her in utter horror. “What?” He finally asked, rubbing his eyes. Chat Noir grabbed his shoulder “Don’t worry. He can’t feel pain.” Chat Noir spoke “Every time his leg has snapped or any injury has been afflicted on him he doesn’t show any signs of pain. He seems to be only angry about falling over.” He explained, making Rooster Bold slightly relax. At least Caprikid wouldn’t be hurt.. But cutting his fingers off still felt extremely cruel.
“Do not worry. It is quite cruel, but what matters is that we bring him back.” Ryuko spoke, holding her sword with a stiff posture. Rooster Bold only nodded and stood up straight.
He needed to save Nathaniel.
Revenant looked around, trying to find Rooster Bold. He had taken care of that dog thing, he wasn’t sure who she was, but it didn’t matter. She didn’t matter, and neither did the others he had eaten. Eaten? No he didn’t eat anyone.. He had only made those who didn’t understand go away.
Understand? Understand what? He should stop thinking, it made him dizzy and confused.
He looked around through the dense fog he had thickened to hide his large body. In the end it only ended up weakening his vision and not hiding him. He turned glancing at his blind spots not finding anyone.
He was growing angrier. He wanted Rooster Bold here. He needed to be with him or someone could take him away. Like his.. He needs to find his parents at one point and make them go away so he doesn’t have to. But Marc was the priority right now.
He took shaky steps forward, looking for a red mohawk. All he could see was a grey haze and buildings. He was on some random street now. Still near the.. Somebody’s bakery. He feels like he knows who owns it, but it’s worthless information so he won’t ponder on it.
He continued walking, taking a break each time he heard a larger crack from his legs. They were weak. They would only get fixed once he.. Gathered nutrients. Which he couldn’t, because nobody was around. People had evacuated the area once they saw his hoof on the street and the.. Animal things weren’t here. They took Rooster Bold from him, he knows it.
He suddenly saw a familiar form landing on a building at the end of the street making it a dead end. It was Rooster Bold. Marc. He took slightly faster steps, not stopping even when he heard the large cracks forming, threatening to snap his legs.
It didn’t matter.
Only his boyfriend mattered. Only Rooster Bold mattered. Only Marc mattered.
“You must be excited, but slow down. This could be a t-” Revenant brushed the voice off. It didn’t matter.
He was almost there. He could see those brown eyes looking slightly up at him approaching. Before he could lift his arm up to grab his lover, his foot caught on something and he fell forward. He was about to create something to catch him, but a red blur flew by and his fingers went with it.
His fingers. They were gone.
He landed roughly on the roof, his head keeping him upright as one of his legs had snapped by the thing that had tripped him. He opened his eyes to find Rooster Bold next to his head that layed on the roof.
Rooster Bold looked sick, tired and scared. He should help him. “Are you okay? You need to move, they’re going to-”
Before they could continue, a red bug, a black cat, a purple tiger and a fox appeared. They tied a red rope with polkadots around his muzzle. Revenant let out a rumble from his throat, bringing his arms up. In the end he couldn’t do anything as the black cat yelled some catclums and jumped onto his back and touched his collar. The collar turned black and broke as a purple butterfly flew out.
The ladybug took the yoyo around her waist and captured the purple butterfly. He could only watch as Rooster Bold had come over to him and petted him while the ladybug did some weird thing and the butterfly came out white.
“Miraculous Ladybug!” She cried out as small ladybugs surrounded everything, fixing everything and even bringing back the people he had sent away.
“I’ll come back for you Revenant. You were very helpful even if you failed in the end. You are my greatest creation so far. Thank you for bringing me one step closer to salvation.” The voice spoke before the ladybugs washed over him, making him feel fuzzy and blinding him.
As the black and purple washed over Revenant, Rooster Bold caught Caprkid into his arms. He curled around the goat hero, feeling the hot tears fill his eyes.
He was here in his arms. God he felt like throwing up again.
He heard Pigella, Minotaurox and Miss Hound ask Chat Noir to use his miraculous cure on them as well. Chat Noir had agreed, yelling his miraculous chat noir which washed over around the city and the three heroes, removing their memories of being eaten.
Vesperia seemed to be the only one of the four heroes that had been eaten that didn’t want her memories to be removed. She muttered something about being creeped out about having her memories being messed with. In the end she had left wanting to be alone. Marc could only sympathise with her as he watched her leave.
“That was.. Horrible.” Ladybug muttered to herself, but she was close enough for Rooster Bold to hear. He glanced at the six heroes left around. They were fine physically, after all, the miracle cure would heal injuries and all, but he couldn’t say the same for their mental states. They all obviously were exhausted and in distress. Minotaurox, Pigella and Miss Hound knew they had died, but didn’t remember the moment, it obviously still left some sort of impact on them.
He brought his gaze back to Caprikid laying in his lap. He was going to wake up at any moment. It was kind of strange that he was still transformed even if he was unconscious.. Maybe it was Ziggy’s doing.
Rooster Bold let out a shaky exhale, while rubbing his thumb over Caprikid’s knuckles. A small groan came out of the goat hero, scaring Rooster Bold. Rooster Bold could feel the hero starting to move in his grasp.
He was waking up.
They had a lot to talk about..
