Chapter Text
"Have you ever kiss someone?"
A question that leaves Rin speechless. Never in his life he ever kiss nor dated someone. Totally a virgin at romance.
Not because no one tried confessing to him, but because no one can handle him. Someone so quiet, had a killer eyes, never smile—long story short, he had a resting "I'll kill you" face.
People are scared of him. He wasn't ugly, but his words were. Last time, someone confessed to him, they left crying.
Rin was quietly sitting at the library. It was cozy, just what he likes. No one to bother him, reading a new book he randomly picked up at the bookstore—Fear Street. It was interesting enough, a slasher book. He wished he could live there, so he freely kill people without getting caught by the police because of some spiritual shit. He would stabbed everyone—on the throat, eyes, cut off their fingers one-by-one—
"Rin-kun…"
Someone called out his name. Dragging him out of the story just when it's just getting goof. He's already at the climax where everyone is dying. Blood everywhere and now someone had to interrupt his imagination.
Her voice quietly shaking. Rin looked up at her disinterested, and raised an eyebrow. The girl gulped down her saliva before opening her mouth.
"Uh…Rin-kun, I like you very much. Would you like to date me?" The girl said without a pause. Her eyes-closed tightly waiting for a response. Rin could only sight, another girl who tried their chance on him.
Rin thought that why are they even trying when they know they don't have a chance? It's full of bullshit. Such a waste of time to reject them over and over again. He'll waste his breathe on words full of rejections. And he's grown tired of it. Tired of people keep coming to him.
So, he said something harsh.
"You're ugly, who would date you?"
The girl open his eyes, and Rin saw it. The eyes of sorrow. The girl ran away with tears in her eyes and embarrassment. To be frank— the girl is not ugly at all. She got this pretty boba eyes, pinkish lips, a flush cheeks. Rin wouldn't even said those words to her if she didn't interrupted his reading time.
Who the fuck confesses at a damn library?
What a fool. That's what Rin thought.
He wasn't really interested in romance stuff. That's too boring. To him, killing people would be more far interesting.
He imagine himself dismembering their limbs, head, their insides. He fantasizes about him cutting a person's toungue and feed it to them. The eyes of chafe at him yet could only live in misery as they couldn't do anything because they're trapped.
Those are the thing he constantly fantasized. People looking up at him, not from fondness, but from angusih.
He might have said cruel things, but doesn't mean he meant it. It's just to kept them away. But even so, people still like him despite his harsh words he throws at them. He's still liked and he hate that.
Even after graduating high school—and now working at a corporate world.
They're flushing over the words he says, even the word 'I'll kill you' would leave all those admirers on their knees, giggling like some high school girls and act like their panties are about to drop after getting rejected and insulted. And they even have the nerve to call him tsunndere.
Rin thought those people are not right on their heads. They're insane.
He just wanted a quiet life where no one would bother him and leave him alone, yet these people kept pestering him.
"Still single, Mr. Itoshi? Then would you like to try dating me?"
"Give me a chance, let's see if we'll work out."
Each confessions he rejected them more formal but in a meaner way too. He even got called by some of his peers that he is so full of himself when he just doesn't wanted to truly date anyone. Those people are so dumb.
He told them the first time in a more polite way that he wasn't interested in dating anyone yet they keep coming back and trying their luck. They were the one pushing him to the edge. And now that he decided to approah a meaner way he got accused for being gull of himself.
Once, his older brother, Sae, told him to wear a ring on his ring finger. Which he followed.
So here he was at a glittery store he barely knows anything about. Pretending to like jewelries while mentally trying to murder everyone inside his head—his peers.
He stood stiffed before a display case, his gaze locked on different designs of the rings. Not even a glint of light would be found in his eyes, he's looking at them as though it had personally commited affront against him.
A sales lady lingered on the side with excitement. Patiently waiting for the man in front of him to choose a design. A job like makes her giggle all the time, people who goes to find a ring fitting for their love ones are her best friends. She liked to hear their stories while asking them of what type of person they're going to give it to. Personalizing a fitting ring.
"Sir! If you don't know what to pick, then why not try this one?" The lady spoke up while pointing at the silver ring that had a heart shape design on it. Rin give it a glance and oh, lord…it's too much.
"Not to your liking?" The sales lady questioned while still smiling. "Then how about this, this is on sale! discounted price."
"How about this? It's from our newly arrival princess rings. What does your girl like? Red? Pink? Emerald?" She continued to asked. As eager as she is. The man in front of her was handsome. The sales lady all she could think of is how lucky his girl must be.
His genes are insane.
Rin could only frowned at every design the sales lady is pointing at. The ring is for him. But figured, this is an ring accessories for marriage. But he couldn't find a close-store near his apartment to buy a single one for him. And he couldn't tell it at her. He had to be careful, the girl in front of her might be one of his office-mates friends, one wrong move, his blow is outed.
"This one come in a matching couple set!" The girl pointed a different one. Rin was about to agree when someone beside him interrupted.
"Too ugly, your girl wouldn't like it." The guy beside him said with its wild, sun-britht eyes. "Why not try this one? Very simple, but elegant. Girls like those." He continued tapping the glass.
Rin glaced at it. It's white-gold, simple and elegant, it's not boring to look at. The marquise shape at the center gives it a timeless shape. It also had little ruby gems placed around the band. It is pretty to look at.
"Doesn't it look pleasing?" The stranger talked to him again.
"Why are you still talking to me?" Rin asked, he never wanted to be all buddy at anyone. Too much of a waste.
"Uh…So, this one sir?" The lady asked, rin only nodded as a reply. He just wanted this to be over already.
The stranger leaned on the glass case, and tilt his head and look directly at Rin. Which Rin felt concious about. The hell is this stranger looking at?
"No thank you?" The stranger raised an eyebrow while clicking its tongue.
"I don't even know you to begin with. And I don't have to thank you for that." Rin said with his pride taking over him. The boy beside him just chuckled. "The name's Bachira Meguru." The yellowed-eye boy introduced himself while stretching out his one hand. But Rin ignored him.
"Okay! I'll pack it up for you, what's your size?"
"10.5"
"You are getting this for your partner, right?" The sales lady asked. Rin nodded. "Then, would you like a match too?" The sales lady asked to make it sure.
"What's your partner's size?" The lady's eyes with its prying eyes. Rin felt terrible. He wanted to get out of this place.
"It's size 9!" Bachira interrupted. Rin only glared at him. Why the hell he kept interrupting at his business?
"Okay… is he your partner sir?" The lady asked. Because why would a stranger would know the handsome man's girl? Other then the two of them being a couple. Right?
"Yes! I am. He just like foreplay like this." Bachira said smiling happily. Which leave the lady speechless and nodded as she get to the business fast.
"What the hell?" Rin furiously said. "What? It looks like you're having a trouble." Bachira said and wink at him. "You do not know your girl well? What a terrible boyfriend." Bachira said in disappointment.
Rin doesn't really wanted to pay him more attention. But something about this boy named Bachira stirred at him.
"I don't have one." Rin admitted. And Bachira stared at him for a while. Quiet. And then, "Then why are you buying one? Are you an idiot?" Laughing at him.
What kind of an idiot would lie about having a lover and buying a matching couple rings?
"It's because I don't like it when people confessinf at me." Rin said. Finally, he had another person to talked it about.
"Wow. Didn't know being too handsome would cause you trouble." Bachira said and stands up straight when the lady came back.
Bachira took the paper bag. And leave Rin alone. When Rin was about to chase after him the sales lady reminded him he hasn't paid for the rings yet.
Fucking hell.
After paying he saw the boy standing outside, while eating a cotton candy. Waving at him happily. Rin could only stand there, jaw clenched, as he walked outside towards the boy.
He almost got robbed. Almost…if the boy decided to ran away with it. His money would be gone into a waste.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Rin asked. And take back the bag from the boy's hand. "What? We're getting married. It's mine now too."
"What the…Who even are you to decide for that?" Rin frustratedly asked. He walked away from the boy as fast as he can to go back to his apartment building. But the boy tailed him at home. Now in front of the apartment complex. He faced him again.
"Why are you following me?"
"Can I borrow your phone?"
"For what?"
"I lost it, maybe someone picked it up. So, I wanted to call my phone." Bachira reasoned out. Rin let out a heavy sighs. Despite not wanting to handed his phone to a complete stranger, his hands handed it fast.
"You should've just said it earlier." Rin said as he handed the phone to Bachira. Bachira bowed to him as a thank you. And now Rin waited as Bachira fidgeted at his phone. A minute passed and Rin was wondering why is it taking him long to call a number.
And then a phone rings at Bachira's coat pocket. He took out his phone and smiled.
"Got it!" Said as he handed the Rin's phone back.
"What the fuck…"
Rin couldn't believe it. He got completely fooled by a stranger into getting his number.
Bachira only winked at him. And walked backwards while pointing at his finger. One of the ring from the couple set.
"Motherfucker." Rin cursed him under his breathe.
The boy laughed and run happily like they'd just gotten engaged.
Now, Rin is wearing the ring…matching with a stranger.
No. More like he got robbed!
He got fooled twice today. And he hoped not to meet him again.
