Chapter Text
In a world full of possibilities, one boy was born into a society where superpowers, known as Quirks, were the norm. But young Izuku Midoriya was different—he had no Quirk. That is, until one day, a chance encounter with All Might changed everything.
But in the endless stream of possibilities, not every Izuku started the same way. Let's see how a small difference can make a big change.
---
Doctor’s Office
Doctor: I'm sorry. Your son… he won’t develop a Quirk.
Anko (Izuku’s Mom): What do you mean? Is something wrong with him?
Doctor: You see, ever since Quirks started appearing, we’ve been studying what causes them. One thing we’ve noticed is that people born with an extra toe joint usually don’t develop a Quirk. Technically, he could have a Quirk that just hasn’t awakened yet—like invisibility triggered under specific conditions—but those types either never activate or are too weak to matter.
Izuku: C-Can I still b-become a hero?
Doctor: Sorry, kid. Without a Quirk, you can’t become a hero.
That was the day everything changed. When I got home, I was devastated by the news.
---
Later That Night
Anko heard crying from Izuku’s room. Peeking inside, she saw him watching All Might videos through tears. She rushed to his side.
Izuku: Mom… can I still be a hero?
Anko: I’m… I’m sorry.
That wasn’t what I needed to hear. I went to school the next day, hoping my best friend would support me.
---
At School
Bakugo: Hey, Izuku. Did your Quirk show up yet?
Izuku: No… they said I’m Quirkless. But there’s still a small chance it could awaken.
Bakugo: What do you mean might? You’re lying! You’re just a useless Deku!
From that day forward, school became hell. Bakugo made sure no one wanted to be friends with me. The teachers didn’t care, and he bullied me whenever he could. Trying to stop him from picking on other kids only made things worse.
---
Today
Teacher: Good morning, class! Today we’re filling out forms for your high school of choice.
He tosses the papers in the air.
Teacher: Who am I kidding? I know everyone wants to go into the hero course!
Everyone cheered—except for two students. Many even activated their Quirks in excitement.
Bakugo: Don’t compare me to these extras!
Teacher: You’re planning to go to UA, right, Bakugo?
Bakugo: Damn right. I aced all the tests. I’ll be the only one from this dump to get in.
Teacher: Oh yeah, Midoriya wants to go too, doesn’t he?
Bakugo shot up from his chair and stomped over to Izuku’s desk, slamming his hand down and letting off a small explosion.
Bakugo: What the hell, Deku?! You’re Quirkless! You think you can get into UA? Compete with me?
Izuku: N-No, Kacchan… I’m not trying to compete… I just thought there’s no harm in at least trying.
Bakugo: Trying? Are you mocking UA?! Like they’d accept trash like you when they could have someone like me?
Teacher: That’s enough, Bakugo. Sit down.
---
After Class
As Izuku packed up his things, Bakugo snatched his notebook.
Bakugo: Still making these creepy fanboy books?
Izuku: T-They’re not creepy! Please give it back!
Bakugo slammed the book shut, set off two explosions on it, and tossed it out the window.
Bakugo: Get this through your thick skull—you can't be a hero. Don’t even show up at the UA entrance exam. Or else.
He and his followers turned to leave.
Bakugo: You know what? If you really want a Quirk, maybe take a swan dive off the roof and pray for one in your next life.
I stood there, stunned.
---
Under the Bridge
Later, I walked home, venting under my breath about Bakugo. That’s when I heard something strange behind me—and saw a massive blob of sludge rise from the sewer.
Sludge Villain: A medium-sized skin suit! Perfect!
Before I could react, it wrapped around me.
Sludge Villain: I didn’t know he was around… You’re my hero, kid!
Izuku (thinking): Am I going to die? I need to escape… If only I had a Quirk. If only I had strength—like All Might...
At that moment, two things happened:
1. My long-dormant Quirk awakened. Out of pure desperation, I punched, releasing a shockwave that knocked out the sludge villain—but also broke my arm and made me pass out.
2. Someone arrived just in time to see it all.
---
All Might Appears
All Might: Have no fear, because I am—
He looked around, seeing the unconscious villain and me—broken arm, out cold. He grabbed the villain’s remains, signed my notebook, and whisked me away to safety.
---
UA Infirmary
Izuku: Where… am I?
Recovery Girl: You’re at UA, dear. That idiot gave you his Quirk without preparing you.
Izuku: W-What?! Wait… you mean All Might can give people his Quirk? That goes against everything we know!
Recovery Girl: Slow down! Are you saying he didn’t give it to you?
Izuku: N-Not that I know of...
Recovery Girl: Huh. Wait here.
She left and soon returned with All Might and Principal Nezu.
Nezu: Am I a mouse, a bear, or a dog? Doesn’t matter. What matters is that I’m the principal of UA.
Izuku: A-All Might! My notebook—did you sign it?
All Might: Already signed it, young man. But we need to talk. It seems someone let a secret slip to you.
Izuku: You mean about your Quirk being transferable? I promise I won’t tell anyone!
Nezu: That’s good to hear. But while you were unconscious, we reviewed your file. It says you’re Quirkless.
Izuku: B-Because I am...
All Might: That’s not what I saw. That punch? It was on par with mine. If that’s not a Quirk, then I’m not All Might.
I looked at my hands and began to cry.
Izuku: I have a Quirk… I finally have a Quirk...
---
The Offer
All Might: What’s your name, young man?
Izuku: Midoriya. Midoriya Izuku.
All Might: Well, young Midoriya, how would you like me to train you? Your Quirk is powerful—but clearly dangerous in its current form. If you want to get into UA, you’ll need control.
Izuku: Really?! You’d train me?
All Might: Of course. I see great potential in you. You might even become the next Symbol of Peace.
Izuku: I’m ready!
Part 2: Exam Day
After ten months of training, I felt stronger than ever. But now came the real test—the UA Entrance Exam.
At Home
Izuku: M-Mom?
Anko: Welcome home, honey!
Izuku: I… I got my Quirk.
Anko: Are you sure?!
Izuku: Yeah. I used it today. It’s some kind of… super strength.
At that moment, Mom burst into tears—the classic Midoriya cry—and gave me the tightest hug of my life.
Anko: My baby finally got his Quirk! We need to get it registered—get in the car!
---
At the Doctor's Office
Doctor: Well, well… it seems you do have a Quirk. From what we can see, it’s an enhancement-type. You’re able to increase your physical strength by multipliers. It looks like the only limit is what your body can endure.
Let us know if anything changes. So… what do you want to call your Quirk?
Izuku: Unlimited Strength.
I smiled as I said it. For the first time in my life… I had a Quirk.
---
That Night
Izuku: Mom… I got attacked by a villain. That’s how my Quirk awakened.
Anko: WHAT?! Are you okay?!
She rushed over and checked me for injuries.
Izuku: I’m fine. My Quirk kicked in just in time. All Might showed up too. He saw my Quirk in action and… offered to train me.
Anko: Oh my god… I’m so happy for you! Just… promise me you’ll be safe.
And so, for the next ten months, I trained under All Might. We figured out what my Quirk did and built up the strength I needed to handle it. But that wasn’t the end of the surprises...
---
10 Months Later – Morning of the UA Entrance Exam
I woke up and saw a glowing box floating in front of me.
System:
Welcome to the System, Midoriya Izuku. Here are your stats:
Level: 1
Health: 10
Defense: 50
Speed: 15
Strength: 30
Intelligence: 30
Wisdom: 35
Luck: 5
Progress: 67%
System: Every time you level up, you’ll receive 5 stat points. Allocate these to increase your abilities. Good luck, Midoriya Izuku.
Izuku (thinking): Is this another part of my Quirk? Maybe this system helps me manage how much strength I can use and tracks what I can handle.
---
At UA – Entrance Exam Begins
Izuku: I’m finally here… time to take my first step—
Trip
I suddenly stumbled, but just before I hit the ground, I floated midair.
Ochako: Sorry! I used my Quirk on you without asking. I just thought falling before the test would be bad luck.
She straightened my back, then released her Quirk.
Ochako: There you go! I’m Ochako Uraraka. Nice to meet you!
Izuku: I-I-I-I...
Ochako: You nervous too? Don’t worry. I am too. Good luck on the test!
Izuku (thinking): I just… I just talked to a girl!
Before I could think more, Bakugo shoved me aside.
Bakugo: Outta the way, Deku.

Exam Briefing
Present Mic: What’s up, UA candidates?! ARE YOU READY!?
Crickets.
Present Mic: Wow, tough crowd. Okay, here’s the deal: you’ll all take part in a 10-minute mock battle in an urban environment. There are three types of robots:
1-point: Small and weak
2-point: Mid-level threat
3-point: Tougher and stronger
Ida: I have a question!
Present Mic: Go for it!
Ida: The pamphlet says there are four robots, but you only mentioned three. Is this a misprint? If so, UA should be ashamed!
He turns to Izuku.
Ida: And you! With the messy green hair—you’ve been muttering this whole time. If you’re not serious, leave!
Izuku: S-Sorry...
Present Mic: Oh, and there’s also a 0-pointer. That one’s just an obstacle. It gives no points—avoid it. All right, LET’S GOOOOOO!
---
The Practical Exam Begins
Everyone rushed out. I stood there frozen for a moment—until I realized there’s no countdown in real life.
Izuku: Okay… I’ve got this!
I dashed into the battlefield.
---
Battle Starts
I saw two 2-point robots.
Izuku: 67%!
I punched the first robot—shattered it completely. I kicked the second one down and kept running. One punch, one bot. Kick, smash, run.
Soon I had racked up 20 points.
Suddenly, the ground shook.
Izuku: I-Is that… the 0-pointer?
A massive robot burst through the wall.
Ochako: Help!!
I froze, seeing the girl from earlier trapped under debris.
No thinking. Just instinct.
Izuku: 200%!
I jumped—bruising my legs on launch—up toward the giant’s head.
Izuku: 300%!!
I slammed my fist into its head, shattering it. The whole robot crashed back—but I was falling.
Izuku: My other arm’s still okay. I’ll use another 300% punch to slow my descent—just have to time it—
Suddenly, I stopped midair.
Ochako: Release!
She floated me down safely, but then immediately threw up.
Despite my shattered arm, I stumbled over.
Izuku: A-Are you o-okay?
Ochako: I’m fine. Thank you. Nice to meet you again!
Izuku: N-Nice to meet you again. I’m Izuku. Izuku Midoriya.
---
Recovery Girl Appears
Recovery Girl: Oh my, did your own Quirk do this to you?
She walked over, kissed my broken arm, and healed it instantly.
Izuku: That’s amazing! You’re Recovery Girl! Can I have your autograph?
Recovery Girl: Of course, dear. But don’t push yourself like this again. My Quirk speeds up healing, but drains stamina.
Ochako: I think I sprained my ankle a little...
Recovery Girl: Let me see.
She kissed Ochako’s ankle and handed us both gummies.
Recovery Girl: For stamina. Here’s your autograph.
---
End of Exam
Ochako: Hope I see you at UA!
Izuku: Y-Yeah… you too!
As we parted ways, I could see the fire of determination in her eyes.
