Plan Failed Successfully

Summary:

Kaoru pairs Hikaru and Haruhi in the same room on a Host Club vacation as an attempt to make Tamaki angry and to progress Hikaru and Haruhi’s relationship, but turns out he wouldn’t need to do that after all…

Notes:

First fic in this fandom! I took a break from writing for about a year, and this is my fic to try and get back into the swing of things so if it's not the best that's probably why lol. Hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

Kaoru was assigned the duty to book hotel rooms. They were visiting France for a new host club deal, honestly it was boring. He didn’t understand how Kyoya did this. It was such a hassle.

Then a light bulb went off in his brain. What if instead of having Hikaru sleep with Kaoru, how about Haruhi and Hikaru? I mean—Kaoru loved sleeping with his dear brother, but life was getting boring, and Tamaki’s face knowing they were in the same bed would be hysterical.

Kaoru licked his lips as he purchased the room. It was tinier than the other rooms but still high quality and luxurious. It was a twin sized bed that was too tiny for one person Hikaru’s size, much less two. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

The host club arrived at the hotel. All of them had huge bags and alternative luggage. Excluding Haruhi who only had a backpack filled with only necessities.

“Are you ready Haruhi?” Hikaru said sluggishly, as Tamaki fell behind him. Staring at him as if he killed his dog. His dark aura looming over Hikaru as he shrugged it off.

“Yeah I am, I’ve never been to France. I wonder what restaurants and food they have…” Haruhi replied. Craving a good meal.

Tamaki shoved Hikaru to the side, “Haruhi, why don’t we find a nice place to eat. I am half French y’know” he winked.
Hikaru pushed him back in a comedic way.

"Anyways, where's my room? I'm tired" Hikaru said, yawning.

"Hikaru don't you want to eat?" Haruhi asked.

"I'm simply not hungry, besides it was a long flight" he replied.

He wasn't lying; he was tired, and so was Haruhi. However, she wouldn't decline free food by any means. She was planning on eating with the rest of the Host Club, but she might fall asleep the second she sits down.

"Here, Hikaru come along with us, our rooms don't open till midnight. You also have to wait to see who you're with." Kaoru said sneakily, grinning weirdly at his brother.

Hikaru was confused by Kaoru's last statement, but shrugged it off as nothing more than him playing games with him; he was also too sleep-deprived to care.

Once they arrived at the restaurant, just as suspected Haruhi fell asleep on the table, a half of a shrimp lying in her mouth. Hikaru looked just as exhausted.

Kaoru looked at both of them with a mischievous grin. Mori stared at him in his peripheral vision, getting suspicious of what he was planning.

“I’m going to the bathroom, please excuse me.” Kaoru got up, pushing his chair in. Mori followed him with his eyes as the blonde child sat on his lap. As he devoured the cake, Mori turned his head to see Kaoru on his phone with a big smirk on his face as he waited in line for the toilet. He was up to something for sure.

Kaoru kept looking at the room on his cellular device and the clock. His iconic roguish smile growing, now all he had to do was get the two tired souls into a single room. That was the hard part.

He turned to look back at the table for a second, Hikaru was blinking and trying not to bang his head on the table as he almost drifted off into sleep, Tamaki was ranting about something, and Mori just stared at him. His stare radiating suspicion.

“Well, it seems our dear Haruhi and Hikaru are beginning to fall asleep. I will gladly take them up to their rooms–”
“Not so fast Kaoru,” Hikaru burps, “I’m fine to be taken up to my own room,” he says, his eyes obviously showing that he is struggling to stay awake.

“Yes! And I can take Haruhi up to her room!” Tamaki yelled, sneaking up behind her, hovering his hands over her shoulders.

As Tamaki slowly went closer to her shoulders, Mori snuck up beside him and lightly pushed him out of the way. Tamaki, being dramatic, falls down acting as if Mori beat him to a pulp.

“Thank you Mori, truly Tamaki you need to stop being such a creep.” Kaoru responded, ignoring how his entire plan is 10x creepier than anything Tamaki has done.

Tamaki sat and sobbed whilst Hikaru officially fell asleep.

Soon, all the host club members except for Kaoru. Tamaki was taken upstairs by Mori as Honey followed. Kaoru waited till everybody was gone to instill his plan.

He first carried Haruhi up to the room, considering that she is a lot lighter and easier to carry. Soon after, Kaoru carried Hikaru on his back, trying to not fall asleep and take Hikaru down with him. Hikaru started waking up as he say Kaoru struggle to continue to stand up.

Kaoru fell down, eating the concrete on the ground. Passing out as Hikaru woke up completely.

“Shit Kaoru…” he spoke softly, picking him up and taking him up the stairs.

As Hikaru brought him to his room, he sees Haruhi step outside in her nightgown.

“Is Kaoru alright?” she asked, yawning.

“Yeah, he’s just really tired. Should’ve seen this coming.”

She walks over to Hikaru and helps him put Kaoru onto his bed.

“Well, his plan certainly went off course.” Hikaru laughed.

“I mean, did it really? We are still gonna still are gonna sleep in the same bed.” Haruhi said with a straight face.
Hikaru kissed her on the cheek, “Do you think he knows?” Haruhi asks.

“I think he has his suspicions, but he probably doesn’t know,” he replies, “Here, let’s go back to bed. The later we wake up, the more guilty we look.”
