Akito would never consider Toya stupid. Toya was very smart, excelling in school with very high grades. But you know, throughout the past week, Akito is starting to think his partner may be a little dumb.

Akito is madly in love with Toya, and has been pretty much since the day they met.
Now it’s February 14th the perfect chance for confession.
Akito has some home made chocolates just for him! There’s no way he won’t understand.

“Ah, thank you for the gratitude chocolates Akito! I’m so glad to have you as my partner!” Toya said with the most pure smile.
“Gratitude? Wait no-“ Akito got cut off by some real gratitude chocolates.
“TOYYAAA!!” Tsukasa bounced with energy excitedly hand over chocolates to Toya. “Thank you for being a great younger brother!”
“No, thank you Tsukasa senpai. It’s been an honor.”Toya replied smiling.
That wasn’t ideal… but there’s always next time!

Akito has slipped a poem into Toya’s shoe locker the day after Valentine’s day, and now he’s next to him as he reads it.
“Akito, thank you for such a friendly poem! I cherish you too. Shall we go to the cafe? My treat.” Toya hummed as they started walking.
How can Toya be so dense? It was clearly about love and romance what made him think it was platonic???
But he won’t let this bring him down! After all third times a charm!

“I love you.”
“I love you too Akito! I’m lucky to have my best friend as my partner.” Toya replied as if it was obvious.
Akito was so stunned. They have never said I love you before and this is how Toya takes it?
“No Toya, I mean it in a different way”
“AKITO TOYA! Time for the warmups! No slacking off!!” An yelled loud enough to cut off Akito’s last few words.
“Ok! Pardon Akito, what was it?”
“Um.. nothing don’t worry”
Maybe third times not the charm.

Toya and An were talking and drinking coffee as Kohane and Akito got in some extra practice.
“You know Akito is in love with you.. right?” An broke the silence.
“What do you mean? I know he loves me-“
“No you don’t. He means it romantically!” An said emphasizing the last word.
“What makes you think that?”
“Seriously? He’s told me he’s tried confessing three different times! The Valentines chocolates, the love poem, and the “I love you”!”
“That was not a love poem-“
“Do you still have it?” An asked almost demanding it. Toya silently handed it over to her. “Are you stupid? ‘Heart to heart’ ‘To be in love’ how is it not a love poem?”
“So that’s why he’s been so affectionate lately?” Toya tilted his head while An facepalmed.

After practice Akito and Toya were walking home.
“An told me you are in love with me, romantically” Toya said suddenly.
“Well at least you finally know, do you know how dense you are?” Akito asked with genuine concern.
“I think An has told me enough” Toya laughed. “You know I accept your confession.”
“Seriously?”
“As serious as I can be”
After that they walked in comfortable silence with their hands intertwined. Nothing could stop them now that they were together.
And maybe Toya will be less oblivious to show Akito that he really is smart.
